"Concentrations of 1 gm. of propylene glycol vapor in two to four million cc. of air produced immediate and complete sterilization of air into which pneumococci, streptococci, staphylococci, H. influenzae, and other microorganisms as well as influenza virus had been sprayed." link The immediate concern is the coronavirus and surely it is worth trying. I've no idea how to make a Twitter Bomb etc but maybe somebody here does. ps call me a cynic but I'm fed up of this wash your hands / masks don't work. You mainly get it on UK sites, I think it is politicians speak for "We don't have enough masks and can't be assed to do anything about it". The media is pretty pathetic, rotweillers on politics, pussy cats on Coronavirus - just not challenging anything. Apols to cats, I know you are superior to us in every way.

I've been anecdotally aware that PG vapour was apparently was used in some hospital air conditioning systems for the purpose of disinfection of the air. Since starting vaping I believe that the number and severity of colds/flu that I've had has (anecdotally) decreased.

Apols to cats, I know you are superior to us in every way. Not quite. Their lack of an opposable thumb means our two are still completely reliant on me to open their catfood tins. Their scheming and claws, however, ensure my compliance! == Seriously that PG in the air killing "bugs" is certainly something that ought have more current thought and attention. Whilst I'm very light-on with my vape PG nowdays, it sorta makes you wonder, doesn't it? Maybe passenger aircraft might use PG in their airconditioning, or if it could be re-introduced into hospital airconditioning and so on. Oz has just stated we are officially in a pandemic and set in motion all sorts of "virus activities". Nothing about adding PG (or any other anti bacterial/disinfectant) into the air in high risk areas such as places where large numbers of the public gather. Maybe it is not all that useful, donno I'm not "sciency", but surely it's worth some consideration?

PG is a diol meaning that it contains two alcohol functional groups, this is where it gets it's sterilisation qualities from. Having said that it's not very good on it's own compared to say isopropyl alcohol or denatured alcohol found in the hand gels. While i'm on about boring information it's interesting to note that some hand gels are very cold when you use them and they evaporate very quickly - these are the ones with a high alcohol content. The ones that evaporate less slowly and take more "rubbing in" have propylene glycol added. Funny old world eh? I've got some sat on my desk, check out where it's made
