So how are you getting along with vaping then gjdart? Before you filled in the location bit, I was guessing you were from Dart or there abouts, but not the Kingdom of Fife.

Welcome gjdardt, I am a newby too. Not touched a real ciggy for 10 days now and I don't miss it one bit Good Luck I'm sitting in the conservatory and have just spent two minutes trying to swat that fly off my screen Well i'm glad i'm not the only one.I tried knocking it off my screen, and when it didn't move thought it might have got inside my screen. How thick am I ? Got to say,it's a good one though.

Hi Batty I was doing great until this afternoon... a few hicups with charging, well more confused than anything else.. I have the Skycig starter pack. Mains addaptor, USB lead, Two batteries five mixed flavour carts and five tobacco I bought with it. Charged the packet for first time yesterday, there's a blue light to say it's charging. It says 2 hours but took slightly less than that. Put first battery into packet (after a bit of fiddling to get it to screw in) to charge.. a red light comes on to let you know it's charging ( on, off, on, off, blinked for a bit then came on and stayed on...60 minutes it say's took less than that. Put second battery in ( no fiddling, red light on..great stuff) Started vaping with first battery. Chopped and changed batt's all day. (Kiddy with a new toy kinda stuff) Got through 1 cart of tobacco but no nasties...Brilliant!! fair chuffed as we say here in scotland. This morning .. put packet on to charge after 2 hours blue light still on ? Skycig troubleshooting advises "wiggle lead" !. wiggled but no joy 2 and 1/2 hours took it off charge not knowing if it was fully charged or not. it's still charging batt's for me now so must be ok However.. I went for a run on my CBR 400 Baby Blade this afternoon, made the mistake of not taking the packet with me and ran out of battery life AAAAAArgh! any (smoking) biker knows that you need a smoke after a burn up. One up for the nasties I'm afraid I'm originally from the Angus Glens Actually

I have skycigs (they were my original e-cigs) and that blue light is a pain, it often doesn't turn off when charging is done. The mantra here is backups for your backups for your backups, so you never run out of anything. That short battery life is what soon drives most of us to Rivas or bigger batteries. One cig won't hurt though

Hi Batdragon or should it be Batty ? I've stopped smoking several times.. I think the best term for it is a confirmed serial Quitter. Stopping isn't my problem it's staying off the bleeding things that's my problem three months and away I go again puffing away as bad as ever. I had almost given up on giving up when I saw the e-cigarretes.. Hmmmmm! says I. Why stop the addiction when I can just cut out the nasty stuff ? One step at a time eh! Thank you for taking the time to reply and for your warm welcome and all your advice. very much appreciated. Hi gjdart, and a very warm welcome. As they say, never give up on giving up. Well I started smoking when I was 12 yrs old and after a lifetime of smoking crap just like the rest of us on here, plus like yourself tried every trick in the book to quit and failed. Well here is the good news, after 59 yrs of smoking the old rubbish I went and got an e-cig.That was nearly 3 months ago,and i've not put a fag in my mouth, and have not wanted to.I'm off iit now for ever.So if an old git like me can do it after 59 yrs,I am certain that you can do the same if you put your mind to it. Anyhow best of luck, you have done the hardest part, and thats making the start at it.

Hi Kernowman I'm sure vaping is the answer for me.. it's gonna be a case of getting the right dose and trying flavours I think. Yesterday was my first day and the ciggs didn't bother me one bit..I was amazed... today though if you read the post above I let myself down a bitty. Really not that bothered though.. I'm not putting any pressure on myself as that's the fastest way for me to fail. I'm enjoying vaping though there's so much to take in and try but can see myself kicking the nasties this time. Thanks for the welcome and the encouragement, much appreciated.
