I have a very varied taste in music, and have been around it for a very long time, my older brother plays just about every musical instrument there is, and I have about as much musical tallent as Jedward lol. I have a very large music collection with thousands of albums rangin from classical to industrial metal, from hip hop to jazz. I am always on the look out for new music, and wondered if there is something that your listening to that would be thought of as being out of the main stream. It is a possibility that I might have it already, or even have the compleat discography of that band. I might even have something that you have been looking for, for years but to no avail. So lets discuss

What a great idea. Those algorithms that do the "if you're listening to that you might like this" never seem to get it right for me, but chatting with like-minded eclectic musos often uncovers new gems.

Well.... I've been watching the series 'Metal Evolution' on Sky Arts and it has reminded me of some great bands, so I've been dusting off my metal collection. But, also listening to things like Ray Wylie Hubbard, Dry the River, Jack White's new album. And I'm over the moon to be going to see Mumford & Sons on Thursday night

I must be more out of touch with things than I thought lol. I have just done a count and at present I have 42,845 tracks on my computer. Unfortuantly none of the ones you mentioned there (but will take noe and see what I can find lol)
As for the Metal section, I have just updated it with the complete discography of AC-DC and believe me that took some doing as I am a bit OCD when it comes to my music, all the ID3 tags must be in place before I add them to my Music directory lol

OCD seems to be a common trait amongst vapers (or at least amongst members of this forum). It comes up often. So yeah, +1 for ID3 tags

all my music is alphabetical, and groupend in artist folders, I am also going through the lot and putting them in album date order too just to make things easier lik when the lead singer changes or if a particulae mucision drops out etc (so just a weeny bit OCD lol)
Is there anything you are particularly on the look out for? I might be able to point you in the right direction (If you know what I mean, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, lol)

I've just discovered the Norweigan experimental metal band Shining, and they are my current flavour of the month. They started out as a jazz band, apparently. I really like this song (ignoring the cheesy video):
