Spacecadet sorry you've had to face the medical issues, and the experience of everyone here tells me that 20 will drop drastically if not disappear altogether once you start vaping.

Spacecadet, Oneday is right - plus don't worry too much about the nicotine content - nicotine isn't the harmful ingredient in real cigs - it's the tar & the thousands of other chemicals that are harmful.
Nicotine isn't carcinogenic & in fact is only considered as harmful as caffeine.

I know but still, I don't want to be dependent anymore. I don't want to freak out if I am without cigarrettes (or ecig). My plan is to use this as a way to stop.
(Bl00dy hell, if I'm here talking about flavours in a months time I will blame you lot for leading me astray!) : )
I'm gonna buy what the person in 'sorry I'm being a pain' post is buying. Looks like an easy option.

So sorry to hear of your health issues. That's rough. Still, I'd never try to push ecigs on someone, that's why I asked. I too was a rollie smoker but never actually intended to stop smoking them. Some people actually want and like nicotine and that's where ecigs fit the bill nicely. As oneday says, it's very likely that you'll reduce or even stop rolling altogether, then you can decide how you'd like to continue.

Spacecadet, the Riva 1100 that Malibu is buying is a good choice - www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-riva-110....eginners%5D~151Don't forget to use discount code allabout for 10% off & ask at check out for the atomisers to be swapped for cartomisers. Plus you will need some e-liquid as well

It's so hard to recommend liquids as everyone's tastes differ. Go for 5ml bottles to start. Don't just stick to tobacco flavours. Try the Grizwalds pik'n'mix at vapeescape as a start point (same discount code, and contact Jason to add liquids to your order to save postage)

Some good advice posted here. Get some 5ml samplers from suppliers and see what you like. If its baccy-type juices you are after you could try the HS Premium Storm/Intense/Delight or a 5ml bottle of Blackcat from Grizwald`s range. To be fair the standard Dekang Marlboro is quite good too. Just remember that taste is subjective, Ive found all the ones Ive listed to be a nice vape (Blackcat esp), but they may taste worse to you. Your taste buds will change too as you quit smoking.

Looks like an easy option. Hmmm.... Cards on the table time here. I don't know anyone (personally) that's been successful in using e-cigs to completely quit - that is to stop both fags and e-cigs and nicotine altogether. Given the nature of nicotine, and the nature of real fags, there are many folks hearabouts who take the view that, once you "change brands" to e-cigs, that's pretty much all you need to do - 99.999% of the risks you previously had with real fags disappear in next to no time. In effect, it's as good as packing in altogether using something like the Allan Carr method (definitely not an NRT route, as NRT is proven to fail in 90-odd percent of cases). If that does not sit well with you - if you are determined to quit altogether, than I'm not sure e-cigs are for you. One way or another you will retain much of the habituation of smoking, with or without nicotine. If, though, you feel that a relapse is fairly definitely on the cards if you got for the quit altogether route, then I'd suggest that e-cigs are very probably the best way to pack in tobacco without packing in the enjoyable and least harmful bits of smoking. And... if you get the right kit (and spares) then there's no panic - it's a learning curve, but it need not be steep, and changing brands, as many have found, is not hard or difficult.

I'm now an occaisonal smoker SC from a 1oz of tobacco a day girl.... All other forms of quitting caused my disability to flare up within 20 hours max to the point of every medic telling me to back on the cigs.... I can't go longer than an hour or so without a vape but even then the cravings are okay...it just affects my concentration - though this maybe more a disability issue than an e-cig issue... I mix my own (for another time not now SC) which reduces costs for me and also gives me more control. So therefore I started on 36mg/ml and a heap of mints and am now down to 10mg/ml. Whether I'll ever be able to get completely off the nic I don't know...Maybe? Don't know...there's so much more to the addiction than just nicotine. One thing I will say is initially be prepared to spend at least as much as you did on cigs trying out kit and don't worry about it (unless you truly can't afford it). Not saying you have to spend £200 on the most expensive e-cig but there's lots of factors like juice/strength/batteries etc etc. These all vary from person to person. So it's about trial and error hence Grizwalds pick and mix is a good starting point.. The riva/ego should also be a good beginner e-cig. Really nothing can be less ladylike than my lavatube and if it does the job why worry? I don't speak from personal experience but I've heard a lot of folk new to vaping say how wonderful they are and how they last Hope that helps Jane

HI Everyone, thanks. Hifistud - You really made me think that maybe I shouldn't be buying an efags if I want to get off nicotine. I was talking about it with a friend yesterday and he suggested I buy a cheap one just to try it (as I've never tried one before) so I picked a disposable from the newsagent. WIKID!! They are sooo cool! I used it in the evening when I was in the pub and I really felt no need to go out and have a cig. So I'm going to get one and I think it will really help me to cut down as long as I put it back in my bag after a few chuffs rather than holding onto it all day.
I asked justin from vapescape about the riva, but he also suggested the innokin as they are smaller and the battery pack can last all day. I think I will get that one as I think I'd prefer a small one, to start with at least.
Malibu - lets see if we can use these to actually cut down to very low levels of smoking. Let the challenge begin : )
By the way, I did notice, that I felt really spaced out at work after I started using it. I'mn quite sensitive to all forms of drug or chemical and it might not even be the ecig but I will keep monitoring that. Has anyone ever felt that? I had to leave work early because my brain was just not functioning and I was completely ineffective. It was a bit like I was stoned.
Spacecadet (!) x
