Converted to vaping!

Hi all,

I'm a newbie, have been lurking for about a week. Just wanted to tell you all how useful i have found this forum in getting my head around the jargon minefield that is vaping.

I got my starter kit today from vape escape and was amazed by how good it is. I normally smoke 20+ per day but i started vaping around 4.30pm and since then (it's now 9.50pm) i have had 1 normal fag and it tasted bad!

I really am enjoying it! I was so worried it would be a massive let down - but far from it! Took me about an hour to get used to it and i'm really enjoying the 3 flavours i chose.

I got menthol cos i smoke(d!) menthol cigs, cherry and RY4 (i think!) which is a sort of caramel-y tobacco. I thought i'd like the menthol best but i reckon the others are probably nicer which really surprises me. Anyone got any suggestions for a nice juice? Seems like i like rich/fruity ones despite my minty history. Although i have already ordered some Black Jack flavour

Welcome from me too absinthya. Flavour is such a subjective thing, what one person loves another finds gross. I think we'd all say experiment, especially with non-tobacco flavours. Buy 5ml bottles as samplers until you find what you like. Your tastebuds will change too as you move away from smoking.

The only things i am worried about are 1) i'm not sure how much i am vaping cf smoking. Don't want to end up more of a nicotine head than i alreday am! 2) Are 'they' going to ban vaping? Seems like the big pharm companies/govts have a lot to lose by letting things lie...

I wouldn't worry about vaping being banned at the moment, just enjoy substituting your ciggies for a tasty vape

I worried at first that I was vaping more than smoking, although that would have been some feat! I don't now, i enjoy vaping and I'll chain vape when I can. At work, I'd find myself craving a ciggie when in stressful situations, now I don't crave a ciggie or a vape!

If you intention is to stop smoking, vape as much as you have to to stop your cravings. Once you really don't want to smoke anymore then you can either cut down the amount you vape or the amount of nicotine in your juice.

I see vaping as harm reduction and I don't think there is any right or wrong way to do it, just enjoy and do what works best for you

In answer to your questions, people do often find they vape a bit more when they start, than they smoked. But it usually calms down after a while.

Are they going to ban it? Well never say never and we really don't know, there are all kinds of arguments from both sides.
We can only hope that sanity presides in the lawmakers. There are people working to make sure they aren't banned and they are doing a good job.

On the whole, I doubt they will be banned most of the time, but at times I worry.
