Bro, the Tornegoriva does the same with even fewer problems !!

The Ego/Riva models have circuitry to regulate the current, which does drop the voltage slightly (so making your atty last longer) everyone has had a 6 week atty and also had a one day atty, using all types of ecigs but keeps power consistent to the last puff, instead of the usual drop off curve that Lion batteries normally produce ....... they also have an automatic cut-off to let you know when to recharge as completely discharging Lion cells really kills their longevity after one week using the SD you know when to change the battery, automatic cut offs go wrong even with tried and tested products, the SD does not suffer from this problem

Mate, most peeps just Vape until they can't Vape no mo !! Running a Lion batty below 20% charge kills the number of cycles it can handle - and like I said, you only get a couple of hours of decent output voltage before it slides down to nominal ....... once again, my Ego Wins !!

They don't need any extra chargers or batteries or "maintenance kits" ...... there are no problems with losing clips or springs, no need to keep anything lubricated or polished ...... it's simple and hassle free Vaping !!
the SD only needs one type of charger, it does not need a maintainance kit, there are no clips, the only spring that can be lost is on the button, this wont be lost if used correctly, more than can be said for many buttons on other products that just stop working for any number of reasons

Geezer, the Tornegoriva has proven itself to be very reliable - and much easier to use !! My Ego Wins again !!

They are also far more compact and elegant so don't make you look like a wierdo when Vaping in public - which is important as we all should be missionaries trying to spread E-cigs far and wide and bring more people on board the Vape Train !!

Chap, the Tornegoriva looks just like a cigar and is quite classy - the SD looks like a contraption from outer space !! Dang, my Ego Wins once more !!

Finally, they are more cost effective in the long run, as you can pick up a Riva Starter Kit for as little as £20-25 squid now ...... those two batteries should easily last you a full year, by which time a new and better model will be available for you to buy !!
the full price for the SD MK1 OR MK2 was possibly more expensive over a year, but trog sold MK1s BOGOF, the mk2 as we know is being sold at 70% off at the minute, this wont last, but will have to remain cheaper to stay with the newer products becoming available

Exactly playa, temporary sale prices are irrelevant - Lindsay asked about a full priced SD which costs 70+ squid ....... Rivas can be had all the time for about £20 direct from China ....... guess what, my Ego just can't lose !!

In short, "Mods" are no longer the smart way to Vape like they used to be - and the Screwdriver is one of the oldest and most outdated pieces of kit around ....... I'm afraid to say it doesn't really have any virtues at all anymore !!

finally the last statement, is complete rubbish just get the opinions of the 1000s of users that still use them, and will still be able to use them when the riva etc etc has been re-invented time after time

Homey, there are probably more Tornegorivas sold globally in one week, than all the SD's ever sold since Noah !! Sure, a few peeps have had problems with them - but then peeps have had problems with the SD too !! I think we can call this one a draw !!

generally the SD will out perform and outlast 95% of the new age ecigs.

That's true gangsta, but then Ecig tech is constantly improving so I'm happy if I get one full years hassle-free use out of my Riva, which only cost me peanuts ...... still, ya got me, the SD wins this round !!

i accept it has its faults, but its faults or failures are a lot fewer than those you have mentioned here.

Sorry me old sunshine, but that is incorrect - even with a drastically smaller user base, the SD has more complaints than the Tornegoriva ....... my Ego Wins !!

all in all your opinion on the SD is very anti a product that in many ways showed the market where it should be going.

Slow down Ragadocious !! The SD was the best dang Ecig on the market back when it was launched ....... all I'm saying is that it's been superseded by better gear now, hell even the DSE clone version has improved upon it !!

It did show the way for simple Battery Mods, but the "market" is still very much dominated by mainstream devices like the Tornegoriva ....... why are you so anti a product that is probably the most popular Ecig on Earth today ??

In short, the Screwdriver is still a very good device - but the Tornegoriva is better !! Phew, thank God my Ego didn't get dented ?!

Very true, but I was talking about good value Mods with unique features and functionality ...... and don't forget, the Wetbox has an army of loyal followers !!

Wetbox = made of plastic but a good intro to Juice Feeders and only $40-$50 - the Pufftronic UMP is even better but over double the price !!

Little Sister = again made of plastic but a great way to easily try Variable Voltage Vaping (VVV!) and only about $60-$70 ....... getting rave reviews !!

The NEW Precious = the most exciting Ecig to hit VaperWorld ever !! Does everything and has everything - including a kitchen sink !! (Raggy will now state that he does not believe it has a kitchen sink! )

By the way, have you posted about your bad experience with the Wetbox before, so that newbies are made aware ??

Perf - I have a Super T device (Super Six) - and have had it since January (I have published lengthy and positive reviews of it) Just because I like my SDs doesn't mean I can't have anything else...

(Having said that, with the SDs and Super T, I have no inclination to buy anything else - because they are all still working beautifully)

Benefits of the Screwdriver: Mine's called 'Fred.' No point in naming a Tornegorivaeco as there is no such animal as just one - it's a little like the fifty-year-old broom that has had 40 new handles and 100 new heads.

Fred works just fine and is beautifully made and cheap as chips to run. He's the least 'lost' of all my e-cig devices that I leave lying around all over the place - 'Fred' stands out in a crowd.

Make sure you have a handy magnet about your person - that's how I found my spring when, like Zebedee, it sprung!!

I tighten my button unit at least once every couple of days.
