I haven't been posting, but that's due to the wonderful help I received here when I started vaping, and excellent service from VapeEscape I've been rolling merrily along without trouble. Had my last baddie on 17 Mar and never looked back. I have decreased the nico level and am now using 8mg and have a question or two. Since moving to the 8mg, I find that most of the time - except when I have a brand new carto - I'm really dragging hard and not 'feeling' the vapour, if that makes sense! I figure the downgrade in throat hit would be due to the low nicotine, is this right? I am still using a Riva, love it, and cartomizers. I use the Kanger 510 Standard Resistance cartos but don't really know what standard resistance means . . . would the low resistance be better with the lower nico level? I had used the Boge cartos when using a higher nico, but found them lacking for some reason and have stuck with the Kanger ones since. I just don't enjoy the experience as much as before and don't think that it's all due to the lower nicotine level. Is it? LOL Thanks for your advice, help and input!

I would say yes, you are spot on in your analysis..
I personally don't really see the need to move to lower nic levels and I am happy chugging away on 24 mg..

What strength were you on before you dropped to 8mg? Perhaps there is a strenght in-between? Vapeescape will mix the large bottles of Griz juice to any strenght you ask and some other vendors will do the same!
Have you changed anything else about the juice? higher PG content gives more of a throat hit than vg!
you would get a bigger throat hit with lr cartos but you would get less battery run time!

Hi Shazza, I also tried lower nicotine and had to go back up in strength for the same reason you are describing

It might be due to the lower nic, but that's easy to test.
I had this though at about your time of vaping and it was just due to me getting used to the hit and needing a better one.
I was advised either LR cartos, which worked for a while and then VV vaping, which I've been on ever since.

You've hit the nail on the head I think Shazza . . . too low a nicotine strength.
Like Macca I don't really see the need to reduce strength, as I've no intention of quitting nicotine, about 18mg is good for me.
Although, that said I do mix some really low strengths for when I'm at home and continuously chugging away, otherwise I get a bit light headed on a higher strength.
A huge fan of Kangers myself, so I'd say deffo give the LR's a whirl as they'll also give you a more satisfying vaping experience.

I'm with Annie and macca on this one - I can't even cope with 18mg juice, let alone anything weaker! I suspect you are finding what I did when I started, that if you are not getting the hit you want you just keep puffing away. This of course can result in you taking in too much nicotene!
The other thing that may be worth trying is a LR cartomiser. As long as you don't go below 2ohms you should be fine with a Riva. They will give a bigger kick but I suspect you will still need to up the nic level of the juice to really hit the spot.

Thanks for the advice all, I do appreciate it. Possibly unlike most others, I do intend to stop the nico all together, but I am not fussed about how quickly/slowly. My main concern was to end the addiction to the nasties, which I've done. That said, I do want to be on a lower strength than I was prior to switching to the 8mg - which was 18mg. I didn't know that there were other strengths available, they were listed as 24/18/8 so I just picked the next lowest. I'll ask Jason about other strengths. I will try the low resistance cartos, battery life isn't a big concern as I have spares, may get another one. Or two. Another question- I seem to be changing cartomizers about every 3-4 days, how does this compare? I'm never really sure when to change it and do so when, after trying everything else, I just simply get less vapour.

Less vapour/taste goes/ or even a bad taste or weak vape, they can last from no time at all to a couple of weeks, hard for me to say as I have so many different things on the go all the time, they all bob around a 306 that I drip onto, and 306's last ages. I went from 18 down to 12, sometimes vape 8 or much higher, depending what the seller has in stock

I'm never really sure when to change it and do so when, after trying everything else, I just simply get less vapour. I used kangers a lot a while ago, and in general I'd say they lasted me about 5 - 7 days before I changed them but I would probably have had 2 on the go at the same time so what you're getting is about right. Just bin them when the vape gets weak. You may want to try one of the Vision Stardust clearomisers that many here have found very good. Easy to fill and has the added bonus of being able to see how much juice is left in them. they are available from most vendors now at £4 - £5 each and last about a week after which they can be washed and dry burned to extend their life which could be over a month.

So good to see you again Shazza I'd certainly give the LR cartos a try, but also agree that you may have tried to cut down on the nicotine too soon. If you vape a lot, then yes, 3-4 days is about right before a carto starts to wimp out. Though some folks do make them last much longer.

Shazza , I too would like to stop the nicotine and ecig altogether one day. I'm way too new to even think about it just at the moment. I would imagine after 35 years it will possibly be as hard as stopping smoking.

Actually you might be surprised...I believe vaping reduces nicotine dependancy.
I am pretty sure it has in my case. I no longer feel the need to vape immediately on waking up and have my first vape with my morning coffee after I have brushed my teeth and had a glass of warm water. So roughly about 30 minutes after waking up, something i could never do when I was smoking analogues.

Thanks, I have contacted Jason about strengths and will go with the lower resistance cartos for now and see how I get on. Will pop back in though to let you know - you lovely lot! Hi Malibu - I had 37 years of the nasties under my belt before quitting them so I know where you're coming from!
