Kenny, I too thought it bizarre. The attie was really hot, but I couldn't get a vape - just juice. But when I changed the attie to a frfesh one, using same cart, not touching it - and using the passthrough, as I had done with the other one - all was well. I don't understand the science of it at all. But thankfully have had a great vaping day today.
MM - I spoke too soon. My nephew came around for fudge - so I finished up making him some! Of course, I had to try a bit too. New recipe using caramel flavouring from Lisa - Cloud 9. Have to say, tis yummy!

I'm really sorry your KD batteries are duds Scylla - I feel kind of responsible. Dear Prof, do not, for one moment, blame yourself My 880s were winding down and I was sure to try the 1000s sooner or later. It's just one of those things. I've got one more pack of 2 to break into. scylla x

Re the atties running hot...it's a different kinda hotness, like it suddenly starts running hot when it didn't before, then it dies within a short space of time, i've had that happen with the atties i got from Amy (Healthcabin) 3 or 4 of them did that, but rather than burn more juice, as you'd think, i seemed to end up with it in my mouth. I've also had ones which run fairly hot anyway, that just stop dead. thats the nature of atties, they're like humans, all unique

No you aren't alone Hanow. I've had atties that still get really hot but hardly any vape & a very airy draw.

My atty went this morning, got very hot but no vape Good news is put on a new atty from the TECC sale which is a Titan and I have never had so good a vape. I am a very happy bunny at the mo vaping James cigar and its lovely bubbly. Ken. PS, Hanow you are definately not alone.

Well it's certainly confusing when both hot and cold means it ain't working scylla I'm a bit confused myself. ??? I use a tornado with a 510 atty which always runs hot and it vapes well. I also have been using the same atty for 6 weeks up to now. I would have thought that if it went cold and no longer vaped it would be dead, at least thats what happened to my others. Ken. I have to now re-access my post here. I bought as a newbie six unbranded atties from a supplier. Three of them burned hot, then went cold wimped and would no longer vape. The forth one got very hot vaped well I thought but inside two days wimped and died. The other two burned hot all the time and lasted for roughly a month which as a newbie I thought was good but having said that the taste was minimal, not much throat hit,and not much vape. But I thought in my ignorance that this was normal and that maybe peoples claims on vape, throat hit etc were slightly exagerated. Now because of this discussion I changed my atty to a branded Titan and tried it. Well heavenly vaping ensued. Now I realise what vaping should be like. I have great throat hit, loads of vape so great lung hit, great taste on all my juices and even those that I had thought tasted poorly. Now the other strange thing is that I have noticed on forums that peeps say that you need to draw slowly for about 5 seconds to get the required amount of vape and it also shows you this on the videos that I have watched. Well I would say with the atty that I am using at this time I only have to press the button on my tornado for 1 second and I have loads of vape. Now what I want to know is, is this normal or not? This is just an ordinary 510 atty not a LR one. Whatever the reason this is bliss. One thing I will not do again though is buy unbranded atties again or at least not without a recomendation. Ken. Phew Glad to get that off my chest.

Agree Ken - good atties are a must. The difficulty I am now finding is that I purchased 3 packs - thus 15 atties (Titan) - in the TECC sale. The first one I used was brilliant, lasted a fair while. However, the next 3 from the same packet have been totally naff - and have performed in this 'heating -no-vaping' manner that we have been discussing. The last one from this pack is working okay. So out of 5, I have two working ones. Not such a great deal as first thought. Am just hoping that I have better luck with the other two packs. But agree, when Titan's work well, they do produce a great vape. Glad you have finally found the bliss of vaping with perfect equipment.

Atties are variable, as batteries and devices, as well as juices and vapers too. What works well one day, can be crap the next and vice-versa.
Standard SLB 510 atomisers are a higher resistance than standard Joye (Titan) 510s. The tornado runs at a lower voltage than other similar devices and so lower resistance atomisers tend to be more satisfying on this device. Same with standard Joye batteries (Titans).
Branded or unbranded, they are all a small piece of wire that we subject to immense heat for varying durations. They are by their very nature, unreliable at times and this goes for all types, styles and brands - no exceptions.
Every so often, someone claims they have found the nirvana - an atomiser that lasts for months, not a whole range, just one atomiser, out of the many hundreds of thousands people are using out there. Hugely long lasting (and long performing) atomisers are the exception that proves the rule and as all vapers discover over a time period, it happens to everyone from time to time, it's the nature of the beast.

Yes, Kenny, I'm afraid it's a lucky/unlucky dip HOWEVER, the fact that you were getting such a poor vape in the early days makes your achievement all the more impressive - and you didn't whinge & moan like wot I do scylla

I've only ever bought one pack of 510's just to try them out (still prefer 901's) And they where Titan branded from TW. Same as Hanow, 2 where ok the other 3 naff.
Mind you, the last lot of 901's I bought from TW where even worse - only 1 ok the other 4 naff.

The atty situation is the biggest frustration in the history of frustrations. I've had only good 510s from TW - so far - but from other suppliers they've had too tight a draw with lousy vapour. Most of my 901s have been ok from wherever they've come and seem to last quite a quite (the DSEs). The Screwdriver-specific ones I've had from TW have been so-so and I prefer to use different ones or add an adapter and use 510s. The day someone produces the perfect atomizer, the e-cig industry will die!!!! Still, I'd rather be frustrated by atomizers than have my smoker's cough back thank you very much!! Fox

Quote Foxy: The day someone produces the perfect atomizer, the e-cig industry will die!!!! End quote. And that is exactly why no one will produce one. We live in a throw away society and it pays to have products with a limited lifetime. Ken.
