Blimey Perpy Brown Owl !! - that takes me back a lifetime ago! I was, (well, my parents really), actually invited to resign moi / leave the Brownies !!! We used to meet in a hut in the vicarage grounds. One particular night, we were all instructed to go out & bring back something nice, within 10 mins. Everyone returned with the odd dandelion, pebble etc & I returned with a full bouquet of flowers from the vicarage gardens. I was only about 6 after all. I remember the outrage & histrionics well - you'd have thought I'd committed all of the seven deadly sins! LOL - probably should have had counselling So Perp, in memory of aforementioned, you shall sometimes be Brown Owl, aka B.O. - henceforth to me Better get back on topic I do not dabble with LRs or cartos, but, 510s sound enticing By whistle tips, do you mean the whistle tip ordinary carts?? Feel I should sing you a round of "Goodnight, Goodnight" now - lol Thanks B.O. - will let you know in a day or so after I check my stuff.

Lolli! Those were the days, so innocent the mischief - I was in the Kelpies . . . we'll be offering a rendition of this next . . . . although possibly not so tooneful. Right . . . Eastmall spares . . . deffo got 10 black standard 510 atties and at least a pack (10) of the whistle/flat ordinary 510 tips as opposed to the round ( goldfish/wrinkle inducing tips ). Just let me know when you're ready what you'd like I'm sure B.O can fix it one way or another.

Lolli, The LR atties might well transform your SD for you... Not sure if you could use them on your PPP tho'..... I'm so glad to see you back. Lynda.
I was a ''jolly Elf, helping others before myself''.... I wanted to be a pixie, helping others out of fixies!

this is bringing out the Brownie in us all! Te he! Couldn't agree more Lynda on the ability of a LR atty's transformation powers - sure I've got a spare 901 to 510 adaptor which I'll pop in Hissie's parcel - as I'm determined to make her enjoy her SD.

Perpy, that was a heck of an outlay for you I know others have said it - but I'm also more than happy to at least partly reimburse you up front.

That's brilliant Raggy - what a useful add on!
No worries Chris, it won't be for long - Selina has mailed with thanks for the group order and to say the shipping will be arranged today for our goodies!
Have to say, the 510 Riva kit I ordered for a member works out to a really good price - £25.61, so it will be interesting to see how it performs.

Those were the days, so innocent the mischief - I was in the Kelpies . . . I was in the Elves... "The elves are coming, the elves are coming, the elves are coming - the elves are here!" I had a threp'ny bit in my hand, swinging it to and fro on the way to Brownies up Tamar Way, and it flew out somewhere onto the grass verge, nowhere to be found, and BO thought I was telling a lie, she said "Now you're on the carpet, aren't you?!" and I looked around the floor, wondering where the carpet was, it was floorboards We didn't get replacement threp'ny bits in those days Then we had to do pressed flowers in our own time, and an old lady neighbour gave me some beautiful ones on individual cards with the names on in lovely handwriting, and I took those and pretended I'd done them - until BO asked "Did you do those?" sceptically, and I said, "No, Mrs Eastcott did them" and cried of course, so BO sent all the other Brownies out to collect flowers for me. I've got a feeling that the kindness didn't do me any favours Sorry, I couldn't resist it after you girls brought back the memories What was I going to say? Forgot now ??? scylla

I finally had to leave the Brownies when we had to make stilts out of Golden Syrup tins and string. My parents couldn't aford the string! Actually, the real reason for leaving was that there was no-one to walk me there and back on dark winter nights. I still adhere, more or less, to the Brownie Promise.
"I promise to do my best to do my duty to God and the Queen, to help everybody everyday, especially those at home."
Have I remembered that correctly?
Lynda

The Brownie Promise is: I promise that I will do my best: To love my God, To serve the Queen and my country, To help other people and To keep the Brownie Guide Law. The Brownie Guide Law is: A Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day. I confess to Googling that Lynda. :-[ Aaaah, the lovely memories - I remember going on Pack Holiday and BO giving us a spoonful of something hideous to keep us 'regular' whilst we were away from home . . . . . we'd only gone away for the weekend!
