I gave up candles when I accidentally set fire to my sideboard...
It was a Cupcake one that I had placed in an ashtray. I went off into the kitchen to fiddle with food and came back into the room to see my sideboard in flames.
Dog was laying on the sofa watching the conflagration, and my attempts to beat it out, with some curiosity.
(In hindsight it might have been better if I'd used water!!)
The melting cangle had cracked the tempered glass ashtray completely in half, causing the fire.
The flames didn't set of my smoke alarms tho', unlike slightly singed toast which tests them every time.

ahhh...just felt a bit bad buying one, when Hissie can't afford one...

can't really afford it either, but i don't spend much on myself, heck i spend more on the bloomin dog with his Burns food cos he has a skin condition...

so i'm going to enjoy it

Perpy my GGTB hasn't even been dispatched yet, and here was me hoping i'd get it today...bit slow, i bought it just before 1pm on the 26th...and mine was only the 2nd one to be bought...

(I probably told this tale on the eBay board.)

I had a candle on a mini-saucer on my bedside table - while I was in the kitchen it overflowed onto the cigarette lighter, which must have exploded. When I came back in the top half of the side of the bed was blazing - I had never seen something indoors on fire like that outside of a fireplace... except when I set the kitchen on fire, again with a candle, but can't remember if that was before or after, me head's gawn ???

Back to the bed - I was a complete heroine (if I say so meself ) and quickly and calmly (that's where I omit any temporary blue-ass-fly activity) rolled up the bedding and smothered everything - had to have a new mattress. Must have been a good few years ago cos the new mattress has springs coming thru

There! Thought I'd have a little boast cos I'm not bad in emergencies occasionally - but beware, I'll never be salt of the earth, it's too much of a chore so I leave that to saintly peeps.

It's arrived!!! even tho it's still showing as 'processing' lol...

It's supposed to take a 14500 battery, but it won't screw together properly? it's a blue Trustfire protected one, will that be the problem, i wonder..?
