i have another charger going on the blink, this time its a nano. im not sure at the minute but hopefully its just the red bulb, the green light comes on with no battery and goes out when battery is placed in it, ive put in an older battery to see if it will green light it. anyway where to get another nano or something better, im not paying £8 for a nano. if kaiedomain does a good reliable charger can someone point me at it, i will then get a few batts as well. raggy........

Raggy, yonks ago when I was using my first SD MK1, I bought a spare charger from deal extreme & it seemed to be OK. www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.998I've lost track a tad, so I'm sorry if you have already bought one of these & it hasn't been any good.

Yep Raggy, there are both 3v & 3.6v Nano chargers. However, I doubt very much that Trog would supply the wrong one with the SD MK1 as (though I don't agree with him on many things) he does know a heck of a lot about batteries & chargers

Not silly at all Raggy, it's so dam confusing.
The only 3.0v batteries I've bought are the CR2's.
Deal extreme add to the confusion with : -
"Battery compatibly - 3.6V CR123A battery - 16340 battery
Note: the 3.0V charger can also charge 3.6V CR123A batteries but 3.6V batteries will not reach full capacity doing so."

I use the 3.7v Nanos as my mainstay charger - I like the fact that they are slow (slow is safe) and have two on the go a lot of the time. I've had one fail since April 2009 and I think I have one on it's way out. I've recently ordered another three (there was a discount for 3+) from DealExtreme. I also have a Trustfire charger for my 14500s

I suppose the charger I use the most as it fits so many batteries I've now found is the Trustfire multi way one - at the risk of sounding positively stoopid . . . . . . what exactly is a Nano charger? I do find that all these different batteries and the various chargers required confoose the life out of me. :-[ Is there a list somewhere of the main varieties used in ecigs and the best places to buy them from by any chance? Also, whilst I'm having a dopey moment the reason why we use protected batteries is because of the safety aspect, yes?

Perpy, protected batteries have a small circuit inside them that stops them from being either overcharged or over discharged. So yes they are safer.

Aha! Thank you all 3 for explaining the finer details to me, muchly appreciated. I now find I have a couple of Nano chargers without knowing that was what they were called, one came with the SD ( Prof's )and the other ( Scylla's ) I use for pairs - it's a foreign language to me! :-[
