More questions.......... so sorry and I hope it makes sense as I havent got mine yet Is it really necessary to have 2 pieces of wick (one on top of each other) or can I just have one? Is it 4 or 5 wraps of the high resistance round the wick or advisable to do a few more? Is it just on one side that you wrap the low resistance twice round the bottom and then cut off and the other side you trim so its flush against the bottom edge, under the wick? The put the ring over and screw on so it flattens the wick edges in the grooves? Okay now comes to when I've assembled it......... what about filling, do I need a syringe or can I use a dropper or a needle tip bottle and do I fill in the ........ now this is where I'm a bit vague........ at the top, but below the mouthpiece? sorry to sound so stuipid No - not stupid at all. We all have to start somewhere. 1. No, you can use a single piece of wick. Imeo provides 3mm wick and you may find 2mm too small. Placing 2 pieces of wick next to each other to make the correct size isn't as difficult as it might sound. 2. The number of winds depends on the wire being used. EG: 0.15mm can use 3-4 winds depending on the resistance required. On the other hand, 0.20mm will be 5-6 winds for the same effect. 3. The wire is built like this: |-----NR-----|~~~RES~~~|-----NR-----| You effectively have the no resistance (NR) wire on each end of the resistance (RES) wire. It's the NR wire that goes down each side. 4. Filling - remember to wet the wick with the juice you're going to use (or plain PG or VG). Once you have the main unit built (leaving the top off), you can fill from a regular bottle. You can use a needle tipped bottle if you like, entirely your choice. Once you have the Penelope, you'll see just how much of a gap between the sides and the internal post there is, and then you'll wonder why you worried. Hope this helps.

It'll all become clearer when you've got it in front of you Esme, so don't worry too much at this stage. I use a single 3mm strand of wick in mine and it's absolutely fine, you don't have to have a spiky thing, although a fine nose bottle is good but not essential. With the greatest of respect to the gents, they hone this rebuilding business to a finer degree than me, they've the skill and knowledge which I don't pretend to have. But! What I do works and works very well for me . . . so I'm perfectly content with that. To even make something that fires up and I can vape is an achievement I never thought possible.

Esme - do you have a webcam? Just to expand - I'm thinking that some of the more knowledgable members could offer to monitor a build via webcam, and point out obvious pitfalls. Perhaps via Skype...

Oh thanks......... I think I'm worrying far too much after looking at so many you tube vids on this......... its just confused me with the various techniques used. I shall go with the flow and if I get into probs, will holler Its just that its a big step for me and I dont want to mess it up....... invalidate the warranty, etc......... just got to relax and not panic Peekay........ I think I do have a webcam already installed....... but how to access it....... god knows....... I dont lol........... I know I havent got skpe I'm probably worrying for no reason and it will come together easy once I've got it thanks again

No worries. Forget all other videos and follow this one instead. It's by Imeo (the guy who created the Penelope), and I believe that it's the best build method available. Very clear and concise. There is also the official wiki page here: ggwiki.et.com.mx/index.php/PenelopeThat has all of the 'official' videos, a lot done by Imeo himself.

Your first re-buildable is a daunting prospect esme - well it certainly was for me! It may take a bit of blood, sweat and tears the first time you do it, but when you have done it a couple of times it gets a lot easier. Plus, you will be so impressed with the result, it will be really worthwhile and you feel a major sense of achievement at making something that vapes so well!
Just get comfortable with FG wicks before you attempt mesh wicks LOL

I am available for Penelope building classes ...held at my house ...call for reservations LOL I had a bit of a shock this morning............... had 2 emails from service @paypal at 01.50hrs this morning with the header showing "Golden Greek UK would like to be paid through Pay Pal" and a 2nd sent at 01.25hrs with the header "Refund from Golden Greek UK" I thought at first glance that because I dont use PP they had decided they didnt want my custom and had cancelled my order. But on opening it was because GG UK had send me a £3 refund and it was in error so they wanted their money back. Paid it back immediately of course I tell you I was shaking

Sitting here at work with the new Penelope clear tanks by KirFanis, they are of his normal exceptional quality I have to say Penelope just doesn't look as classy with a clear tank Unlike odyseuss that actually looks better. Will try to get a couple of pics up later. Don't get me wrong though, that's just my view. They are as I said exceptional quality wise

Not tempted by the clear windows at all, one of the beauties for me is the stainless steel and the engraving etc
