I'm here but I haven't contributed to any threads because I've worn myself out trying to install Linux on a spare drive, and failing. So I'm off to sleep now, back later. scylla

I've sort of been here but not here myself Scylla. Had a very mixed emotions day yesterday. Found one neighbours cat that had been missing for a week locked in another neighbours shed. Long story (as short as possible) I checked the neighbours shed as they went away yesterday & I was looking after their own cat. Don't know what made me do it as they had already had a note through their door asking them to check all sheds & outhouses.(plus me talking to them about the missing cat). Complete joy to find him & reunite him with his tearful owners Got back home feeling so happy & few minutes later the phone rang. An old friend, letting me know that that another ex-boyfriend had died He crashed his motorbike due to a heart attack He was only 57 but a very heavy smoker

awww...sorry to hear that Chrissie....xx found a patient the other night...dead, well gone, rigor already set in, but still had to put a call out.... way to late to resuscitate but wot about your friend? i think everyone should be trained in it, the first few minutes are the difference between life and death in a cardiac incident...

{{{Chrissie}}} I'm so sorry you've had yet more bad news of close friends. A small comfort is that you brought relief and joy to someone today Thinking of you, scylla x

Sorry to hear that ((((Chrissie)))) How very sad, & he was way way too young to die. Maybe it helps to think though, that we all die sometime of something &, as someone who has always loved & ridden bikes, maybe he'd be content with how he went - no protracted suffering & doing something he really loved. Terribly sad for those left behind. Deepest sympathy.

I may have been very naughty, not 5 minutes ago I've ordered a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV It's not my fault really - I've got this Co-op Visa "Think" credit card which would save the rain forests if I used it, but they were about to reduce the credit limit to almost nothing because I'd never used it... so I had to really, for the sake of the planet Also, Co-op Electrical had last year's model, which is better than this year's, and they "deliver it to the room of your choice" (their system didn't ask about my stairs ) and unpack it for you. So I didn't have any choice in the matter really Still haven't had the clear-out and new bed though scylla
