Coo - getting awfully technical with these things, isn't it? Must confess that in my innocence I'd thought USB's were - well - universal!!
I am however suitably impressed that you seem to be negotiating these complications with great aplomb despite lack of assistance from Garry... well done you!

It is one of the great things about forums like this, being alerted to the new developments that are coming out. Imeo certainly seems to be one of the most creative! I remembered there had been talk about an auto liquid feed - is this actually available now? (Ooooh, no - something else to lust after/yearn for...!!) Speaking of which - how's Garry's passthru going for you? Did you ever locate the adaptor for your powered hub??

Oops! Sorry, chaps - I missed the fact there was a page 2 and I was only repeating other people's advice to try some other flavours. It is still good advice, though!

Pleased to hear that you are enjoying your vaping so far, despite the taste not being great. It puzzles me no end the way that it so often seems to be the case with cartridges that come with starter kits.
It is a distinctly curable problem though - if you've been looking around some of the sites you will probably have realised already there is a vast range of flavours available. Some sellers do sampler packs which give you a chance to try a number of different flavours without having get a load of each one. Simon at e-cigs.co.uk does some which are very good value, and if you did decide to buy anything there you can use my discount code VPS which will give you 5% off. The code isn't time limited and you can use it as many times as you wish.

Ye gods, that is awesome, isn't it?
Also possibly one of the most bizarre videos to sit and watch, mind you - thanks for the tip about moving the bar!
Chrissie, with these higher voltage devices is there any concern about possibly getting up to the kind of temperatures where glycerine can start breaking down into the kind of stuff you really don't want to be inhaling?

Will be looking forward to a 'review' of Windows 7 once you have had a chance to settle in with it a bit, Scylla. Oddly enough it crossed my mind yesterday that you ought to have received it by now and I was planning to ask if it had!

Welcome, WaterinWine. I think something you should remember is that people who have high blood pressure are also told that they shouldn't smoke!
Chrissie's link to the ECF thread does show the experience some have had with using e-cigs and I've seen other reports there where people who were using medication to control BP have found it has come down so much they haven't needed to take it any more.
Bearing that in mind, it could be well worth asking if your GP is willing to check your BP a little more frequently if you are making the change from cigarettes to e-cigs. That way if it becomes possible to reduce the amount of medication you require it should be noticed more quickly - and who wants to be taking any more pills than they need to??

Scylla, so sorry for confusing you - Chrissie is of course correct, when I suggested you would be green with envy of her post I did mean MAIL. Well done posties, I say.
I know the current postal disruption is all horribly inconvenient for us but I'd be very interested to know the details of exactly what they are being asked to accept that has caused their dispute - this never gets explained in any of the news reports I've seen. I suspect this probably means 'the management' are being totally unreasonable and if I knew the details I'd wholeheartedly support the strikers!
Sorry I haven't been in, lots of 'stuff' going on - I haven't forgotten that I owe you a PM Tim, please ofrgive the delay.

Here's a quick thought Chrissie - why not drop Garry a line and ask him if the standard car charger like Tim's one is up to the job?
...and I rather suspect that Scylla is going to be green with envy over the efficiency of your post!!

Well, seems that Tim has solved your car one - well done, Tim! For the wall adaptor, search on "USB plug adaptor" in eBay to get a choice of, well, squillions of 'em. Start from 99p (free P&P) if you are willing to wait for it to arrive from Hong Kong but I spotted others which were in UK under £2. For a little more (£4.49) you can get a four-port powered USB hub (I've got one) which can come in useful if you have other USB powered gadgets and have run out of slots on the computer! www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5&products_id=99392Hope that helps!

I'll also throw my hat in as being perfectly happy with our colour scheme just as it is, simplicity and clarity are quite wonderful qualities.
Sorry to see that Migsie's fish is saying the flu is still around but relieved that it evidently hasn't affected her sense of humour! (((((Migsie)))))

Very well spotted, Chrissie! 'Fraid I couldn't resist joining in that one (including C&Ping part of my previous post) and having a prod about the TW strengths issue as well...
I actually enjoy Trog immensely even if he can be a bit harsh at times because he clearly doesn't suffer fools gladly, if at all! A bit like Jason, he says what he thinks but I don't think he loses his rag the way Jason does. He just loves a fight for its own sake, but I can imagine him he-he-he-ing at your 1,000mg comment with real pleasure! Go on - I dare you...
As for the chart, with more thought I think your notion of pinning it may well be a good one. I'm sure newbies will find their way to more opinions if they are genuinely interested (or even ask, if they don't find the e-cig satisfying!) and I'm definitely against encouraging anyone to overdo it to start with just because they can.
Totally off-topic, do we know how Migsie's doing? She has been active but her fish still has flu...hope she's getting over it by now. ((((Migsie))))

Is it possible to make the change to the entire forum 'Globally' Chrissie?
Otherwise it is a very kind offer but I envisage your fingers getting very worn out if you have to do them individually. I am happy to reset my own if the latter is the case.

I'll 'fess up to slightly mixed feelings about the chart, although I have no wish to denigrate Keef's efforts in producing it. The jury still seems to be out elsewhere regarding just how much nicotine we do actually absorb from e-cigs.
I did in fact carry out exactly the same calculation myself within a couple of weeks of first starting and concluded that as I seemed to use about 1.5ml a day and should have been getting 24mg nic a day from my former 30 cigs/day, the 18mg strength would be fine.
However, further experience after the novelty had worn off a bit did lead to my discovering that I found the higher strengths much more satisfying and using 18mg exclusively led to attempts to vape myself silly to get my 'hit', constantly puffing away on it. Using higher strength meant that I would take a more reasonable number of puffs then put the e-cig down, quite happy. These days I vary quite a bit and may well use 18, 24 and 36mg liquid in the course of a single day.
However, the chart may still be a useful guide to new vapers and naturally I have no desire at all to encourage anyone to increase the amount of nicotine they are using if they find they are happy with a lower strength liquid.
Hence, the mixed feelings - I really don't want to confuse newcomers when they are already busy learning the basics of vaping.

Congratulations to you both, Marian. There ARE some good 'uns out there, bless 'em.
I do count myself very fortunate to have found one who puts up with me!
