My 12,000 cigarettes avoided tally will come up during the morning today. I compute this to be 3000 pounds saved based on previously smoking duty free rollies. Would have been nearer 4.5K saved if I did analogues. The Premium Bonds we bought have already returned 2 small prizes. So win win to vape.

I asked very early on, our HR and Building services people. They had not been asked before, had no legislation and allowed me to use the Shift Crew Room. This was announced to me by my boss, who said it was because I would give the impression I was smoking - cant see how 3 inches of dragon emossed battery can give that impression though. That said, at night I just sit at the desk and vape because there are only a few of us in, but by day, I stealth in the loo, go to the crewroom or evangelise to the smokers.

So glad you clear that up with Stansted. So going on my other posts. I can take a bus to Romford vaping, vape on the platform, vape on the train to Liverpool Street and then Stansted. Finally enjoying a vape at the Weatherspoons being boarding to Alicante, where I will vape in arrivals. How civilised is that? All approved by TFL, Greater Anglia, Weatherspoons and AENA. Just Easyjet to work on.

Have to look at Romford Market for an outlet with the amount of e-ciggers from this side of town.

We now have Greater Anglia:
Dear Mr White,
Thank you for your email concerning electronic cigarettes.
I can confirm that it is illegal to smoke a lit cigarette on our network, including our trains, ticket halls and platforms. However, passengers who wish to use an electric cigarette are currently not prohibited from doing so as long as it is neither lit nor discharges smoke.
I hope you find this information helpful, once again, thank you for taking the time to contact us.
Yours sincerely,
Natasha Ward Customer Relations Advisor Greater Anglia

Just want to say that I only have this as an email. Have now used this to support a query with Greater Anglia trains to keep the momentum going. Anyone want to try their own lines?
My reasoning was due to there being no guidelines from these companies and feeling hard done by, when persuing a legal activity clandestinely. I still will only do this if the conditions suit.
I do however find this a moral victory.

Being peed off with no one knowing if it was AOK to vape on London Transport, I wrote to the Mayors Office.
Here is the reply:
Dear Mr White
Thank you for your email to the Mayor about electronic cigarettes.
As you can appreciate, the Mayor receives a significant amount of correspondence. Therefore, it‘s not possible for him to reply personally to them all.
Transport for London (TfL) is the body responsible for developing and implementing the Mayor's transport policies, and your email was referred to us to reply on his behalf. I'm sorry that we didn't get back to you in time on this occasion.
I can confirm that it is illegal and against TfL by-laws to smoke a lit cigarette on our network, including our trains, ticket halls and platforms.
However, passengers who wish to use an electric cigarette, which is neither lit nor discharges smoke are currently not prohibited from doing so.
I hope this information is of assistance, and that I’ve been able to clarify our position on the matter.
Thank you once again for contacting us.
Yours sincerely
Adeniyi Adegoroye

It is questionable that we have to stealth vape, particularly as there are no rules against it.
I wrote to Boris Johnson today for clarity considering the Transport for London and London Authority sites carry no legislation for ECigs. Nearly every organisation has nothing in place to say no. We need to be more overt to avoid this kind of situation in the future and the thought of asking to do what is not banned nor illegal smacks badly with me.
HAd a row with a reformed ex smoker tonight who claimed we were still polluting and causing a health risk. I asked him did he eat peanuts and suggested the airborne allegins of those could kill painfully and instantly.

Went very open at Stansted and Alicante airports without even raising an eyebrow.
