Hi everyone.
First off, I would like to say I am new to the forum, but not to vaping. I thought I would ask this question though, to see what the general consensus is here in regards to my question.
I received a new Wotofo Phantom 2 days ago, along with a few new LG HE4's. I like HE4's and 25R's, and get whichever is available cheapest. I understand their CDR is both 20A, and on their spec sheets they are virtually identical. Even their over discharge limits are the same if I remember correctly-although I always build within a cells CDR, or use a regulated mod within its safe wattage limits.
Now, I am running a 0.22 Ohm, dual coil 26G SS build in the Lush RDA on the Phantom. I understand in a perfect world, at 4.2V, this is just over 19A. I was aiming for 0.21 for dead on 20A at 4.2V.
I understand though I will not be getting 4.2V, but calculate here for safety. In reality I am probably getting somewhere in the region of 3.7V and under by the feel of things, I haven't actually yet used a multimeter on this mod to check voltage drop though. I am using the standard 510 connection as I prefer these to hybrid style connections.
So, would you personally feel safe running a build right at a cells CDR? The battery does not feel to be getting warm during use, and I take around 3-4 second or so hits. I know that a lot of people run builds much lower than me, but I would rather err on the side of caution- maybe I should be called UKworrier instead of warrior lol.
When using a regulated mod, I do not really give things a second thought if running right up to CDR wattage wise as I know resistance does not effect amp load in that scenario, but with a mech I do. I think this will be more of a discussion than hard advice, but it would be nice to hear your personal feelings in regards to this matter.
What is the lowest you feel comfortable running a 25R or HE4?
EDIT: By no means I want anyone to take this thread as advising people to run a battery over its safe limits- battery safety is very important and this should not be done!
All the best, Conan.

Sorry to reply to such an old thread, slightly worried though.
I do have a D4 in the collection, which I now use to charge Eneloops for my AA and AAA keyring style torches. I now use an Efest LUC4 charger for my batteries, as the D4 was too slow with the amount I have, and 26650's took forever to charge.
Mine has a removable plug as it should have, I no longer have the box though so can not confirm if there is a spelling mistake or not. I have been using it for over a year, so would expect if there was an issue to know by now?
I would rather be safe though, is there any other ways of identifying a fake apart from the writing on the box, and the Moulded plug on the fakes?

As mentioned there are different grades of Kanthal, and also if bought from China I doubt it would be the same alloy as Kanthal bought here in the UK.
However, 0.6 is a big difference! I did read a few days ago on another forum someone having issues with their builds being higher resistance than they should of been- it turned out their '22 gauge' kanthal was actually mislabeled 26G kanthal.
I would stick to good suppliers if you can, to get a consistent wire type. I find this especially important in the case of other wire, like SS316L, where a different alloy could throw off TC on my devices.

I am glad to read this- it is a tiny peeve of mine when people talk of 'steeping' their juice, as it is not the correct term, but has come into such common even I use it for ease of understanding. With most of my juices, I actually fall into a minority- I like it fresh! There are only a few flavours that I allow to have a full steep. There definitely is a difference in flavour, but a lot of them I prefer before the process. I do always try both ways to make sure though. From my understanding, when you 'steep' your juice, what really happens is those perfumey scents settle down. The flavours you taste in your juice are actually a result of your olfactory sense (Smell), and after the juice has been allowed to sit for a fair time, these scents are smoother for lack of a better term, and result in the nice flavour you get. Now, I know this method can be a bit controversial due to nicotine degradation, but for some flavours I feel benefit from a homogenisation I actually use the heat method to speed things up. This time of year, I put my bottle above a radiator for a few hours. The reason this is controversial is due to nicotine degradation when exposed to heat, but I think the darker colour you get with a 'steeped' juice is from nicotine degradation anyway! If you have some nicotine, put it in an open bottle, and leave it out for the time you would allow your juice to. You will see it takes on a much darker colour. Fantastic explanation and I enjoyed reading it

Hello . If you wish to use SS, I prefer to use SS316L, 26G, around a 2.5-3MM bit. I like these size coils, as I don't use very high wattage compared to some people. I find these are great for around 40W, and a temperature of around 240C on my Evolv devices. Resistance comes in around 0.25, and I find this a nice area for SS temp control. Between 8-9 Wraps depending on ID of the coil. As has been mentioned, if you wanted to try a DNA board out, Gearbest does do some good offers if you are OK with ordering from China. I got my first DNA200 from there, and also a DNA75. (Hotcig V1 DNA200, and a SDNA 75). Since the SP3 update, SS TC has been great on the DNA200's, and also great on the DNA75. If you wanted to use Ni or Ti, I personally prefer to use Ti. I prefer its slightly higher resistance, and find it easier to build within my mods resistance range than with Ni. It still often turns out very low resistance with dual coils though, but as it is a regulated mod this doesn't matter in regards to amp load on the batteries. I do have memory issues though, so have been moving towards using SS for most of my builds, as if I accidentally used a TC build on a non TC device, there is no problem.

to AAEC ukwarrior ...that is a grand selection of mods you have Thank you for the welcome , and also for liking my collection. I do realise it is a little mad (but who isn't a little bit mad lol), but I do enjoy using each mod, from the cheap ones to the higher end ones. Each one has its own little quirks and is what I like about them. I have slowed down a lot now though in regards to new purchases. I am going to use mainly what I have, and only get necessary items like concentrates. If something really innovative or nice comes along though, it may sway me.

New to the forum, so thought I would add my latest purchase to the thread . I received a Wotofo Phantom Mechanical mod, and a Wotofo Lush RDA to match as I could only find the Phantom in white. Also got a couple of new LG HE4's to use in the Phantom, as it is getting around the time to start replacing some of my batteries. I am running a dual coil, 26G 2.5MM ID build at around 0.22-23 Ohms. For me, this is quite high powered, but I am enjoying the new mod and RDA set up a lot. ( I realise in this image the drip tip is not pressed in fully, it was quite a stiff fit when I first got it, it now sits flush with the top of the RDA). EDIT: Postvan just came, not very exciting but I got 4 more X 250ML bottles of 72MG nicotine base from Darkstar to go in my freezer. I have 2 litres in there now, hopefully will be able to add some more before places sell out in the next 6 months. Should keep me and my partner going for quite a while hopefully.

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, but not to vaping, and over the past couple of years have built up a fairly large collection. This is my collection of Regulated mods and mechanical mods, taken a couple of months ago. It was only a quick photo of the collection, they are usually kept on an Ottoman but I moved them to the kitchen quickly. Since then I have got a few more mods to add to the collection. This does not include all my tanks and RDA's, I did not have a nice way to display these apart from on the mods they was on, and are kept in a bag when not in use or on a mod. I think there is 26 regulated mods here, and around 10 mechanical mods.

Hello everyone . I am not new to vaping, but new to this forum. I do use a few other places too, but enjoy making new friends and also talking about vaping. I am known at other places as Conanthewarrior, an old joke due to my name, and my physique being the complete opposite to Arnie-I am 5 ft 6 and not muscly lol. I mainly vape regulated, I will upload my collection to the correct forum area soon, but also enjoy using mechs from time to time. Like a few people, I got the bug, or 'shinyitis', so have quite a lot of things. My favourite mods are probably my Evolv devices, and for the majority of the time I have vaped I have been a rebuildable guy. The only time I wasn't was when I started with a Nautilus mini and a Sigelei 30W mini, but within around a fortnight I got my first RDA, then moved onto RTA's. I like RTA's that are similar to the Crius the most at the moment, such as the Crius, Griffin and Gemini. I run Dual coil 26G SS316L builds in TC mode in these tanks, nothing too mad, at around 40W and 240C. I find this to be more than enough for me, and use 3MG DIY juice. I hope to make some friends here, and also help out other users where I can- I do understand regulated mods well, and often help people on other forums with things like calculating amp load on them, as I see a lot of errors made there, and people calculating the same way as for a mech and not for a regulated mod. I do use mechs too, and understand them, but know more about regulated mods as these are what I mainly use, and also enjoyed doing research on throughout the past couple of years. So, I hope to get to know you all soon, and until then, all the best, Conan.
