I was on my way outside for a vape whilst taking out a new contract phone (lengthy process) when the assistant told me to sit back down and vape away in the shop! Felt a bit awkward at first but soon got lots of interest from the shop's manager who's a heavy smoker

I'd browsed ecigs for a while on eBay, thinking they were just another fad. I was out at a car boot sale one day and saw a cheap kit, I bought it and haven't looked back since. I never wanted to give up smoking and financially I'm not much better off, (tobacco from abroad in bulk, papers and tips in bulk from the car boot,) but health wise I'm much better off. I tried a few drags of an analogue on holiday last year and hated it! Not looked back since

Hi Birdy, so glad there's nothing serious going on, your dentist sounds like a right jerk! I have had serious mouth problems with certain juices that appear to be quite acidic such as my beloved Aftershock juice, I can't even touch it now as I appear to get a allergic mouth reaction to it! Could well be something in the flavourings

Chrissie batteries are the bain of my life at the moment LOL!
Jerry yes it does have a zipper enclosure but it was sitting open (and the zip is plastic) on the floor by my bed, there was nothing metal touching the battery otherwise I may have had more issues as I had to grab it with some kitchen roll as soon as I realised what was hissing. Just another battery disaster LOL.

Thanks Scylla, I did debate whether or not to post this, but was advised that it would serve as a visual warning as to what can and obviously does happen to batteries from time to time

Not good at all Dee So glad nothing serious happened.Im having AW battery problems at the moment, think i should bin them and get a fresh pair. Thanks Ian, it's definitely worrying. I think I will have to invest in a proper storage facility for my batteries from now on. Although I have to say that my luck with batteries this last couple of weeks has been rather dicey to say the least!

Sorry this happened, but hopefully this will enlighting people to store battery's properly in a battery case. Luckily you weren't hurt This most likely happened buy shorting out on a set of keys, that created a electrical circuit No where near my keys, I keep my keys on my bedside table! The battery was in a separate compartment in my handbag, nothing touching up against it, although the resulting burning has burned receipts that were in my bag!

This was in my handbag when it 'exploded.' It wasn't connected to a unit as it was my spare for the day. I don't know what the answer is but please be really careful how you store your batteries, this occurred at 6am this morning, luckily I was up and getting ready as we've been diving. I dread to think what could have happened had I still been sleeping and not able to act quickly.

Dee, it's got nothing to do with the voltage of the battery, more the mAh. When LR atties first came out we where just told not to use them on anything under 250 mAh (from memory). As Riva's are way above that it should have been fine to use LR atties with them. However, it now seems that the switch in the Riva isn't up to handling the LR's . Mad isn't it? I've only ever used LR's ever since Perpy kindly sent me a couple to try about 12 months ago. I've not had a problem with either the Ego or Riva batteries until now. I think the battery or switch were coming to a natural end and possibly weren't performing as they had been in their younger days (rather like my good self) LOL.

Chrissie it was scary as it was sitting on the sofa at the side of me! Thanks Lilac, I have read several times suppliers advising people not to use LR on certain batteries, but the Riva batteries are 3.7V the same as most of the bigger mods use ??? Perps I'm getting really fed up with vaping at the moment, it's not just vaping, I've got a buyer for my scooter and I can't get that working right either! I give up with anything electrical LOL

I don't know Lilac, I've been using the duel coils with the 510's since when ever I started with the dual coils, it's only since I've had the Iatty and the Provari that I've stopped! Ooops LOL

I've been reduced back to my 510 batteries and my SD, I'm in a bit of a pickle as I've given 2 full kits to friends over the past few months, this left me with only 3 batteries, one I can't charge because I've lost the blooming extension bar Yesterday i was using my MP battery that I've had for quite a while, I put it down and heard a hissing noise, when I looked down the dual coil was vaping away on it's own and getting very, very hot. I undid it and left both items to cool down. Then tried the again, the battery was still working. When I pressed the button I could see fire / moulten metal through the button plastic. Needless to say I chucked it down the garden immediately. Thank goodness I've still got my SD!
