I've just discovered the Norweigan experimental metal band Shining, and they are my current flavour of the month. They started out as a jazz band, apparently. I really like this song (ignoring the cheesy video):

I'm sure Trog will still sell them on his own website Nice one. With apologies for my ignorance: who's Trog and where's his website?

Ah, yes, karma linked to those earlier in the thread, but I wasn't sure if they were 18350s, since it doesn't explicitly say so. (And I'm still at the sheepish newbie stage where if it doesn't explicitly say that it is X then I'm not at all confident that it is X ).

Looking around the interweb I see your problem..There does not seem to be any quality protected 18350's around.. Yeah, that was certainly the impression I got myself ... it's good to know that it's not just me being useless at googling! I would use IMR's only in mods with electronic protection Would the addition of one of these help? www.ecigwizard.com/shop/en/accessories/452-the-2-cents-vape-safe.htmlI'm guessing it's not going to be as reliable as a mod with fully integrated protection, but am I right in thinking it performs approximately the saem function?

You can still email him and ask...He may send one out to you..I think he has with others.. Cool. I've emailed him to find out. One more question: if I do get a hot spring fitted, would you say that makes it OK to use IMR's, given the added protection? Thanks for all your help - much appreciated!

Cheers for that, maccafan. As it happens, I wasn't aware of hotsprings at the time I ordered the mini argento, so I didn't ask about it.

btw, can anyone clue me in on who actually sells hotsprings? Just checked a bunch of vaping vendor sites but haven't found one yet! Googling isn't getting me anywhere either, apart from some US vendors, but I'd prefer to buy from UK if possible. Cheers!

Protected 18350s in the Argento, that is what you'll get from Britvapes Is this definitely the case? The photo of the 18350 shown on the Britvapes site doesn't look like a protected one: www.britvapes.co.uk/ULTRAFIRE_BATTERIES/p1204754_6370396.aspxI've seen a variety of sources saying that the orange Ultrafire XSL 18350s are not protected. And that's what this photo looks like.

Sometime this week, I should be getting my hands on a mini-argento. As a beginner, I want to make sure I'm aware of all the relevant safety considerations, now that I'm moving to more a powerful device. Don't really want to spray myself in molten battery juice, burn my house down, set fire to my pants, etc. So ... I know I should get a case for the batteries and shouldn't carry them loose in pockets. I'll be sorting that out as soon as possible. But would anyone recommend that I get any additional safety gizmos or add-ons? For example, I've read a couple of things about 'hot springs' but I'm not entirely sure what they are, or whether they're a good idea. I also saw a device called a "vape safe" - again, I'm not sure what exactly it does or if it's a good idea. Also, regarding batteries themselves: are all 18350 batteries pretty much equivalent, or can there be differences in quality / reliability / safety between different makes? (If so, which makes are better?) Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the dumb question - I've heard warnings about not carrying batteries in pockets, but can anyone tell me the science behind it? Is it the movement and heat of being in a pocket? Or is it caused by the batteries touching other things in the pocket (no innuendos please )?

Well, I was going to be all sensible and wait for a while before upgrading from my basic 510 to a mod, but this offer has just completely shattered my will power. Mini-argento ordered! Woooooooo! Go me! etc.
