They could theoretically make changes almost instantly - if they wanted to.
BUT - don't panic - they won't. They will give a reasonable notice period for companies to adjust.
If they are looking at licencing then it will probably be a couple of years to allow companies time to get thing sorted.
Fingers crossed that it won't come to that though.

Tomorrow when we might find out just how much they want to take away from us.
Fairly sure it won't be the same after tomorrow, getting just a little bit worried.
Time for some 36mg to calm me down for the rest of the day methinks !

Remember, this was posted as "News" and not "Great Good News"
It will be a great improvement on the semi-disposable market. The product is aimed at smokers, not vapers.
If a better product is available to smokers and marketed at smokers, how can that be bad?

RJ Reynolds, the second largest tobacco company in the USA and owners of the Camel and Pall Mall brands of cigarettes have held a Press Conference to mark the first stage of the launch of their new rechargeable electronic cigarette - the Vuse. They say that they have incorporated new technology into their e-cig product that monitors the heat of the coil more than 2000 times per second and adjusts the power accordingly - in order to provide a consistent and "perfect puff" every time. With the dollars behind their R&D and Marketing, this is going to be a very interesting product - National TV advertising is planned for the USA. Looking forward to trying one out when they come over here. news.yahoo.com/reynolds-american-launching-revamped-e-141924019.html.

The Joyetech Twists are fairly reliable. (as are the Vision Spinners)
Thing is that there are now other companies making a battery called a "Twist".

The French Government is set to ban the use of e-cigs in public places. The Health minister comissioned a report on the health effects of e-cigs - which is due to be presented on Tuesday. Even though the report is mostly positive, the Health Minister is said to be going ahead with the law to ban the use of electronic cigarettes in public. Which, to my mind, proves that the anti-ecig brigade are simply supporting smoking by attacking tobaccos best competition.

. The Italian union of tobacco operators last week lodged an appeal with the regional court of Lazio, in an attempt to block the sale of electronic cigarettes. The tobacco operators claim that e-cigs are "unfair competition" and should be taxed like tobacco cigarettes ! But in the topsy-turvey world of this Italian news, a chief executive of a Pharma company says that "“I used to smoke more than a pack a day,” and continued, “then I tried e-cigarettes thanks to a friend. I stopped using traditional cigarettes. I feel better physically and I’m saving money. I am amazed by the polemic concerning the alleged harmfulness of electronic cigarettes. I think it is a matter of loss of money for the government, which can’t apply taxation to them yet. “ More details here www.theepochtimes.com/n3/64093-italian-tobacco-industry-wrestling-with-electronic-cigarettes/[Hat-Tip to Christopher Snowdon, who spotted the article and posted it on Twitter.] .

Lord Sugar has been on Twitter asking about electronic cigarettes for a few weeks now. He is clearly interested. Today, his son, Simon Sugar posted this on Twitter : Just wondering if he is getting interested ? Looking like he is.
