Thought I would post this in here as it may help other noobies I changed the head on my mini nova to the 2.8 head and immediately had problems with the juice ending up in the middle tube and leaking all over the battery. I took the 2.8 off and put another 2.4 on and no leak. I think the heavier wicks on the 2.8 head deliver too much juice to the coil and it end up dripping to the only place it can go, down the middle tube. Pam

Also meant to say 18 months can be a strange age for the boys, very often show dogs are pulled from the ring at that age because they loose coat, condition and muscle. It is like halfway between puppy and adult and the body seems to be burning up more than you can give it. You could also try giving the biggest meal of the day just before he goes to bed so he doesn't run it off himself and also feed more but in split meals so the big meal doesn't shoot through without being properly absorbed. I am sure he will eventually start bodying up once he gets to 2 or 2 and a half and his metabolism start to slow down a bit...good luck with him. Pam

I have had some fussies here and have found that cat food can often do the trick to get them eating again, mix with the dry food and add a small amount of water and mix well so the cat food smellyness gets all over the biscuit, take it easy with the amount though initially in case the sudden change in food has an effect on the bowels

Ooooooo that's a very big tar brush you have there Hissie <<<<slides out soapbox>>> I am a dog breeder, I breed a litter when either I want something for myself and/or I have a waiting list of puppy buyers. My puppies are thoughtfully bred from parents who have had £££££ spent on taking them to specialists and making sure that they do not suffer from conditions that they might pass onto the puppies, the puppies are born in the house and raised with all the noises of a normal household (minus kids, more on that later) they and their mother are fed on the highest quality food available, the litter is taken at 6 to 8 weeks old to specialists who then test them to make sure that they do not have any inherited or otherwise conditions, they are also examined by my own vet for more everyday conditions. I do rent a crowd as I dont have kids of my own so friends kids are roped in to come round and play with the pups as much as possible. The homes they go to are thoroughly vetted and visited if possible by either myself or friends around the country. I insist that the potential owners visit the pups along with any kids in the household, the pups are tattooed in their ear and that number stays in my name in case they end up as strays later in life. Unless being sold to a fellow and trusted dog showing friend they are all sold as PETS, they go with a contract and have their kennel club papers endorsed with restrictions. I have imported a bitch all the way from Israel to get new blood in my breeding, I have used imported dogs others own in my breeding and at great expense I will be importing sperm from a dog in Finland for my next litter. I could just go to any old dog in the UK but I breed to improve my breed not to make money. My litters are born out of blood sweat and a lot of tears sometimes and I know a whole host of other breeders who are the same so please forgive us if we get on our high horse when we are branded exactly the same as some low life puppy farming scum who breed their bitches to death and sells sick pups to unsuspecting members of the public, and don't even get me started on the designer breeds, hybrid vigor my a*se, printing money more like. The rules are simple for puppy buyers..... If the pups are kept in awful conditions ....walk away and report to local council If the breeder has umpteen different breeds ...walk away and report to local council If you can't see the mother of the litter........see above If the pup looks sick or has a shitty bum running eyes.....you get the picture. Sadly people think they are doing the sick pup a favour getting it out of there, but they are just making room for the next over bred bitches litter and so it goes on....there are a lot of us good breeders out there, people just need to look for us and do their homework ask questions and be prepared to walk away if they are not happy.... <<slides soap box away>>>

Well done gillian.... no dentist for me for the last 4 years - frightens the bejesus out of me Though would love to go and get them cleaned properly in the hope my gums try to make a comeback now that I am not suffocating them with fag smoke. The cost is just ridiculous though

You will be hard pressed to find any vet or vet nurses who agree with raw feeding, mine gave up telling me I was harming my dogs years ago I don't 100% raw feed any more as the dog who needed it died of old age 13 years after I was told he should be put down due to serious commercial food allergies Still give mine raw meat frequently....as for insurance I wouldn't be able to afford to insure my lot so instead I put £10 per dog into a saving account every month and don't touch it except for vet emergencies. 100mls of assorted flavours arrived today, ninja status impossible due to the bottom drawer of the fridge getting fuller with little bottles and syringes and the can cupboard stinking to high heaven with opened steeping juice bottles Vaping strawberry milk at the mo, sort of reminds me of overboiled milk with strawberry nesquik in it (in a good way) I am sure with time the strawberry will come through stronger. It's the 2.8 that I put in a few days ago I will break open my pack of 2.4 heads tomorrow and try one of those instead, in the mean time it is sitting on it's kitchen towel incontinence pad in case it gets caught short before then
