I'm completely clueless on anything electrical, so please excuse my ignorance, but I'm thinking of asking a sparky mate to make me a tube mod once I have a suitable tube, and while he may well know the answer anyway, where can I source the plastic insulator bits that go in the top with the brass pin connection through them?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can be arsed to answer.

Lol, Moon don't use whistle tips on cartos, they're horrid and if you want to make your friend who has the needle-top bottle jealous, get one of these, the best thing for filling cartos, clearos, vivas........... no idea how i survived without one www.cig-eliquid.co.uk/spiky_thing_basic/p649230_5247562.aspxEvening Karma. Whistle tips were designed specifically to annoy me, a tool of the devil. I actually tried to order a couple of the spiky things after seeing them recommended on here when I made a subsequent order from LF, but they were out of stock so I got ten needle bottles with the little silicon caps on from HC instead, which are delightful and I see why he found it so easy. My short-lived affair with cartos is over, although around the same time I bought a carto tank and quite liked it as I could see what was in it and it didn't dry out like the cartos did, and was infinitely easier not to drip juice all over my hands and trousers. I've been on Novas for six or seven weeks now and like them, but broke out the tank again at the weekend for old-times sake. It leaked out the bottom all over my hands.

A week or so into my vaping career, a more-experienced mate recommended the low res Ego cartomizers, so I got them and hated them from the start.
I hated not being able to see the amount of juice in them, hated how easy it was to overfill them up when I didn't need to so it all dripped out the bottom, hated accidentally dripping down the middle so it all dripped out the bottom, hated the ease with which my mate inserted his needle-top bottle in and refilled in seconds with no mess, hated the sweaty smell after a couple of days of use, hated the burning taste when they were low on liquid before I realised and hated the rubber whistle tips never being aligned with the battery button whenever I swapped hands or from thumb to finger presses.
Apart from those minor gripes, I thought they weren't too bad.

I've been mixing my own since about three weeks into my vaping career, so about seven weeks, and so far haven't really come across a flavour that I've though is brilliant.
I have about 15-20 concentrates, and most won't be repurchased when they're done, whilst some I'll definitely struggle to finish (HC's watermelon or grape will fit into this category).
I do keep going back to anything with menthol though, and my mixed berries or lemon with menthol are almost certainly my faves, as I just love cough sweet flavours.
I absolutely loathed menthol fags, but would enjoy smoking whilst sucking on a Hall's Mentholyptus, and getting that icy throat hit is definitely doing it for me at the momens.

Personally I'm happy to wait for juice to steep in my home rather than the vendor's property. I know that if I prefer a flavour after a week, I'll order it a week before I use it. I learnt very early on (when I was almost wringing out paper towels of e-juice in to cartos & waiting on the next order) that I need to plan ahead and always make sure I have next week's supply before I need it. One supplier recently asked on this forum if we were happy for our juice to be sent second class and allow Royal Mail to steep our juice for us and was inundated with people saying no. I'd prefer to know that I can order some juice in the morning and be vaping on it the following day if I'm close to running out, I'd much rather be vaping some "immature" juice than puffing on a ciggy. It's unrealistic for our suppliers to make up 5,000 bottles on the off chance that some of them will be bought, ultimately it will be us the buyers who will be hit for the wastage (or the suppliers go out of business, something I'm sure none of us want to happen). As a side note, have you thought that some people might prefer their e-juice fresh and un-steeped? I can't argue with any of this and am struggling to see what the issue is. If you want it steeped, then it'll steep just as well in your cupboard as it will in the vendors' cupboards, so stay one step ahead of what you need to order. As to second class delivery, what's the difference between it steeping in the RM depot or in a cupboard in your own house? If the instructions are there on websites that the juices have been ordered from, then why should the vendors need to do anything else. Maybe they should also advise upon which device they taste best out of and at what wattage they should be vaped at if they're expected to spoon-feed people. I'd personally like to see menu suggestions on the labels.

Use a bolt wrap the wire around the threads and unscrew the bolt leaving a perfect coil This is something that I may well try. I'll give it a go with a drill bit first, as I have a good few small ones and see how I get on with that method. It won't be as perfect but I'll have a fanny around with a cocktail stick.

Ive rewicked with .20 kanthal, using cotton wicks and no problems whatsoever. I dont call myself an expert at rewicking by any means though, just saying in my experience its ok. You're more of an expert than I am, as I've yet to 'go live' with a rewick, having only practised so far, but read it on one of the countless threads I've seen on the subject. I'd say the vast majority that I've read or watched on YouTube have gone with just the Kanthal, though.

I may be a million miles out, but i think you need a no risistance because of the chamber on a penny Lyn. Most rebuildables dont use a no resistance. I think a reason for having the no res wire on the Novas is that the wires are ultimately held in place by a silicon grommet which means that this is heated by the resistance wire and presumably gives off fumes. Use no res wire as legs and the silicon grommet doesn't heat up anywhere near as much.

Reading another forum, Torchy recommended Efest IMRs as a cheaper but favourable alternative to AW. ukvapers.org/Thread-IMR-18650-Batteries-Efest-v-AW-v-SanyoI ordered an 18650 from Stealthvape but received an 18350 the following day instead. I contacted Rob at Stealthvape and he's put the right battery in the post and told me to keep the 18350 rather than send it back to him. Can't say fairer than that really.

Thanks, that's my question answered.
The reason it'd be easier is that there are less gaps between two coils as opposed to four or five, meaning I don't need to be as tidy when I'm wrapping them.
Looks like I'll have to do a bit more practising.

Right, with all this clever theory and physics lark going on, hopefully this isn't too simplistic a question, but if I'm a bit rubbish at making coils small enough to fit inside my Vivi heads without touching the sides and shorting, can I double up the length of wire and twist it together, thus making my .2ml wire into .4ml wire and make two coils instead of four to get the same resistance? In my mind I can't see why this won't work and don't currently have anything to measure resistance so can't try it out for myself. All advice and/or abuse welcome.

Is that a 306 atty with shield on the LT? or 901, or am i being thick? I fancy a good atty, mebbe a Bulli? It's a 306 wearing a drip shield Skwoddy, you're not being thick. Cetin has reduced his prices on the Bulli, to compete with China, so it's probably a good time to buy one, unless you can pick something up in the Classies somewhere. I nearly went for their mini kit as well at about £28, but remembered that I still need something to measure ohms, and that's the drawback of that mini ss lt as well, which is unfortunate as it looks spangly and the size looks bob on. The reason for my need for a resistance checker is that I started to practise wrapping coils yesterday for my Nova but didn't want to try them out for fear of blowing myself up. You could always buy a multi meter Moon, they're quite inexpensive on Ebay. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DIGITAL-LCD-MULTIMETER-VOLTMETER-AMMETER-VOLT-OHM-METER-/140614204386?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Test_Measurement_Equipment_ET&hash=item20bd427be2I knew that was coming. Oh, I dunno.

There is a rating system on there but im not sure its very usefull. The seller i Bought off had about 98% positive feedback from over 2000 transactions. Though when i looked at the negative feedback it was all basically the same thing. Really bad quality and things turning up broke or not working. It made me wonder if some of the sellers use sneaky methods like buying off themselvs to artificially raise their feedback levels. Not to mention if i had just checked a sample of the stuff i bought rather than the whole lot i may have thought they were all good and left posative feedback. All the faults are the type you dont actually notice till you use the stuff! Except for the chargers which i could see were visually different from each other, I dont know how in one lot of 10 they managed to get about 5 different types of chargers. There are a couple with 100% posative feedback but they tend to have low transaction amounts. I see what you mean. I think I'll be avoiding it, it sounds worse than eBay UK.

Just done a quick bit of research and it sounds a bit hit and miss. A 'trusted sellers' from those who've used it would be very helpful.
Is there not a ratings system on there?
