Bronco was the thinnest tracing paper in a roll. Rough on one side, shiny on the other and seemingly non-absorbent, toilet papers such as this ‘Bronco’ brand would be very familiar to anyone over the age of forty. At one time advertised with the slogan “Bronco, for the bigger wipe”.And I'm just back after hours and hours looking for the other crispy brand, which wasn't Izal, I've even emailed my brother in Switzerland and he can't remember. It had a funny medicated smell, nasty, and NO! it wasn't Izal medicated. My gran had torn-up newspaper on string in the outside toilet but she did have 2 civilised indoor toilets too

My take on the result: Nothing conventional would work, there's something in the security settings, somewhere, preventing full access via a normal network. So Macca has used his imagination and experience and given me access in an unconventional way, which has saved my bacon. Thank you Macca!

Unless you are using folders and printers under homegroup I wouldn't worry too much. I SHOULD be using folders and printers under NETWORK.

It shouldn't be the Homegroup* anyway, I don't use it although it was set up years ago with a laptop I don't even own any more. *S/be NETWORK. I tried to rejoin with the one I've just cut off, but it's asking me for UserName/Pwd and I don't know what they're talking about. I tried putting the name of the laptop I'm on and the old HomeGroup pwd but no dice. Can I wipe out the whole network and start again? This is really urgent now, I can't do a thing without at least 2 connected

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (all 3 laptops). 3 laptops - have always shared all files between them, wired or wirelessly. Particularly I record streams on one and call them up on another for editing. Had to restore the editing laptop to factory settings cos it was seizing up worse and worse after installing Speedbit Video Accelerator (but other changes coincided, like FF 13.0.1 for instance). Suddenly couldn't use YouTube direct upload page, nor Photobucket Uploader FF add-on. Now I cannot access the other 2 laptops' D drives, "you do not have permission, contact network administrator" OR "Enter Network Password" and I've no idea what to put in there, everything I've tried hasn't worked. Nearly suicidal over this but don't worry, the heat will kill me first

Jerry, I know you don't take it personally There must be loads more indications, apart from the one-sided extradition agreement, that the UK is merely a satellite of the US

I fancied that one because it states that it can be used on its side. Dithered, now it's out of stock It's interesting to see suppliers that I've never heard of. I'm not adventurous in that respect, tend to stick to eBay, eBuyer, Amazon. Maybe we could have a list of trusted suppliers who are not as well known to non-techies as the big boys are?

I've just noticed that my follow-up to the above hasn't posted, I did it ages ago ??? This is the answer I got from eBay techie guru Grumpy-Cook: Windows Club utilities are usually trustworthy. This one apparently just re-registers the WU dlls etc. which many fixes do.
There is a Microsoft fixit here - support.microsoft.com/kb/971058You might also tell your friend to disable her antivirus and any 3rd-party firewall before installing the updates, I've found this sometimes helps.

Sometimes ( a lot of the time ) when you uninstall a program the remnants left behind are still in the programs folder , worse than that they are also left in the registry I use Revo Uninstaller (free version), which is very safe and takes out pretty well all the leftovers - you can click thru telling it to delete "everything" because it only deletes "ticked bolded" items, so if you tick an unbolded item by mistake it won't remove it. If you see what I mean There's another one called UR Uninstaller (or something like that) which my brother uses. Of course, these programs work best if they were installed before you installed the program you want to get rid of, but nevertheless they work quite well.
