Apparently it's a multi-sensory show this year - you'll have peach flavour snow, edible banana flavour confetti and orange fragranced bubbles! Wonder if they use similar flavouring's to vapers. That is an interesting point. I wonder if there will be any custard... LOL I shall report back on smells.

Dolly, they said on the radio about an hour ago that the wind and rain should clear later this afternoon Funny story about the fireworks... a few years ago, it was my and my OH's first NYE together. He was living in London at the time, so we thought it would be nice to go see the fireworks. Got all wrapped up and jumped on the train. We got a fantastic spot, right outside Somerset House. 20 mins after we got there, I suddenly felt unwell, next thing I know is I'm half on the ground as OH is trying to hold me up... I'd passed out, totally sober I might add. Sat on the wet ground for 10 mins and when I tried to stand up I fainted again. Anyway, long story short, an hour and a half to get back to Victoria with me having to sit down every so often - we saw the new year in on a train waiting to leave Victoria! Needless to say, we normally stay in on NYE now and just hope we stay awake long enough to see the new year in! Lol. Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for the weather update. I guess we are going then! What a shame you were ill and missed it! This will be the fourth time I have gone up there. I just love fireworks and the London one is the best globally in my opinion. When I lived in Sydney Australia, we lived just 10minute drive from the Opera House and went to theirs several times. They put on a fabulous display every year, but I still reckon London's is better.

We often go up to see the fireworks at the London Eye. They usually cordon off an area next to the TV broadcasters for disabled people, which means we get the best view right opposite the eye. My only concern is the weather. They have forecast wind and rain. I certainly don't want to be sat outside in that.
So what are you doing to herald in the new year?
Happy New Year to everyone here. I hope 2014 brings you all you wish for.

I've been on Ch4 all afternoon... first the horse racing... then 'Celebrity Come Dine With Me'... gradually getting me back to normal. You've still got time to watch Peter Stringfellow to host the last dinner party. It's been good. And is a repeat I know has already been on twice in the last few weeks!

Lose weight. Yes, I know it's what everyone says, but I can't go on like this. I have no idea how I am going to achieve it. Eating less is the easy bit, but when you are in a wheelchair most of the time it's damn near impossible to shift it! Since becoming disabled I have put on stones not pounds!! I tried exercising sitting down but then developed a frozen shoulder which meant I couldn't even lift bean cans or use those stretchy things. Do you know, I have realised a very nasty side of human nature since my dress size drastically changed. Being a large person seems to be a licence to be shunned or treated appallingly by those who, had they met me 5yrs ago would have a totally different attitude. It's hard to come to terms with too.
Anyway.... I am rambling. I don't know how, and I don't even know if it's possible, but I am determined to shift some of the weight.

Haemorrhoid cream is supposed to be the best cream for wrinkles. Models have been using it for many years.

I thnk this new open all hours is an insult to Ronnie Barkers memory. If he could have seen it I doubt it would have got on TV. Raff is right. David Jason shouldn't need to ride off the back of Ronies success with this. Something new for him would be much better.

I think the whole Christmas TV has been atrocious apart from my Downton Abbey. What really annoys me is that every single channel shows mainly child orientated stuff. Now, don't get me wrong, of course there should be plenty for the kids at Christmas, but what about the adults who have no kids at home!? Sick to death of rehashed repeats that have been on at least six times before, or were so bad the first time, you wouldn't want to watch if your life depended on it.
I think these TV companies should be sued as not fit for purpose, and extracting money under false pretences when they advertise the crap as entertainment.

Oooops how exciting Raff! Yes, it would be wonderful to have a rich grandchild to look after you! I keep telling mine to make sure they listen to etcher and grow up to get a good job so that they can buy nanny a big house LOL... my little mate reckons she will only buy me a pink one! Have you seen the ad (can't remember what for?) where the Dad builds a tree house for his daughter and it's not right until he paints it pink. Love it. LOL yes I have and I always think of her.

Those little chair beds are handy Dolly, not much to break on them as they're just 3 pieces of foam. We didn't have much luck with the folding bed we bought but then I've lost count of how many beds I had to replace as my son was growing up Good thinking K! If I get a really nice one it could live in the lounge till it's needed.
