also when charging the duff one out of it[hence laptop battery discharge rate falls],gets warm while charging discard those, these sometimes do not show any leakage or volt drop---better safe than sorry ,but there norm 18650 ones in laptop batterys Dayc round about norm is 6 That's what I said

Thanks for the link jordan. I use these myself and have had no issues with them. When you recover cells from laptop batteries please inspect each for damage and discard any that are dented or split, etc. Test the voltage of each cell before charging, you will usually find all but one are of a similar voltage. The odd man out is the bad cell which caused the laptop battery to fail and this should be discarded. During the first couple of charging cycles you should monitor the batteries for overheating every 30 minutes or so and every 5 minutes from about 3.8v onwards. Any that get hot to the touch should be discarded safely. Not 'too hot to touch', just hotter than the others! Here it is naked:
No obvious protection circuit of the type with which we are accustomed. The top has the extra crimped cap shown with a plastic insulator on top and six vent holes. The only info I have been able to get from Samsung is this " Certified by UL Safety Standard UL-1642, the Samsung lithium ion battery withstands overcharging by applying a 5-way safety stop for high thermal safety"
There is much better info available from Underwriters laboratories which govern the UL standard for Lithium Batteries. Having had a scan through the PDF it would seem that these batteries are protected by an on board fuse and/or resistor and vented case. I would recommend you read the document. Pay particular attention to the Technician sections and testing sections as they cover these batteries. I hope this helps.

Flavour Roscopecotrain, that's what we're after. Was toying with the idea of getting something like this anyway. I can't complain if it's not to my liking at a price like that! Good find mate. P.s. If you find me at the bar next weekend crying and tangled up in 8 meters of wick and wire just cut me loose and send me to bed

Ordered one last night Roscopecotrain. I based my purchased solely on the advice of Roscopecotrain, because Roscopecotrain said it's good and I am easily lead so he should be held accountable. Now I wonder did I buy in haste? I'm sure that if these weren't suitable for coiling by one handed, blind vapers Roscopecotrain would have mentioned it?

I can't say I have as I throw all mine in together and enjoy the lucky dip.if it fit's I use it I would advise that you separate them upon delivery and keep them that way. Not heard of anybody cleaning heads in a bowl of soapy water though, that must taste interesting?

I've done some with an oxy torch not on metal this thin though. It is VERY hard to get right, unless like markm says you have a high temp oven. BTW Anodising is a totally different method where you make the metal part of an electrical circuit (Anode), immerse the metal in chemicals and pass a current through it.

Simple answer to the problem, have lots of batteries and use them in rotation. Have lots of batteries and use them in your mods, silly

You can also try removing an inch or so of the copper mesh shielding from a co-ax cable and wrapping it top to bottom over your spring. If it stops getting hot then the spring is the problem. This one is on the inside but you get the idea.

Grounds for divorce.
Wife is concerned about the amount of time I spend on here.
She is of the impression than I am having several hundred affairs!

It sounds like a pull from Lead Acid battery safety where standing the batteries is advised because the cells can continue to gas for several minutes after charging.
I don't see any way this can be applicable to dry cell batteries as the chemical transfer should stop within milliseconds of a charge current being disconnected.
I have however had a multi cell Li-Po battery run-away immediately after being disconnected, but this was one time out of hundreds of batteries/charges.
Apart from any safety implications there is only one other reason I know of for letting batteries sit for a while.
The voltage will be artificially raised after charging. After sitting for 10 minutes the peak charge should have subsided and allow for an accurate voltage reading.

Well I've never tasted Covonia so it may just be that they are all aniseed based?

The main reason King's is better than GVC is that it's always in stock
