Didn't think of that - you won't be able to get BBC iplayer in the US. I'm trying to download it now to save it but it will be too big to email. I might have to video it from my screen then upload to YouTube. Or I'll get Andy to sort it out - that sounds like a far easier option

Oh my gosh - I vape 32-36mg all day and all night and drink black coffee strong enough to stand a spoon up in and NEVER get high! I must be doing it wrong

Thing is Jerry - the coroner recorded an open verdict, so no-one has died from vaping.
I am quite sure if they could have found a way to come to a 'death by vaping' verdict, they would have done, but they know full well that was not the cause. However, it is an opportunity to scare up some propaganda by trying to show an imaginary correlation.

You're correct Ian, vaping is a far better option and the article gives a one sided view. However, if we read an article tomorrow stating that e-cigs and juice, in their current state, were 100% safe and everyone should get one, we would be thrilled...... and also aware that the story probably ain't all the truth, as there are no conclusive studies they are 100% safe for long term use, and that a lot of vendors don't list their ingredients, so in all honesty, we are ill advised as to what we are actually inhaling.
This article is, as Perpy put it, stage managed. All the old farts at the MHRA are probably rubbing their hands with glee, thinking this is one more step toward getting one over on us. In some ways it could be a good thing - it reminds us we can't get complacent and must get organised for the next stage.
Kate started the petition around this time last year and we took it to Downing street in June I believe. I wonder what the growth of vapers has been in that period? And an article like this will fire people up for the next battle. So maybe it's not all bad.

The fact that Perfectionist's post still remains is testament to that And. That is my cue not to look at that thread isn't it Chrissie? I will have no trouble resisting.

I agree with you Ian, however, as vapers it will do us no favours to suggest that - a lot of it is about being allowed to make our own choices and not be dictated to or nannied, so we are in the same camp as the smokers.

Chrissie, I cannot understand why an open verdit was recorded when he had been known to suffer from a significant lung disease. And how indepth could the coroners inquest have been if they didn't have the ingredients of e-juice to know that there is no oil in it!?
It's bloody frustrating, but Andy and Dave are taking the opposing view and going to try to go all out for lots of good publicity. They are planning on travelling round the UK, popping in for cups of tea and interviewing vapers, with a view to getting it on mainstream TV! Put your lippy on girls!

I know some of you are aware of the proposed Community Association. Those mad brave fools folk who run VapourTrails TV have volunteered to set this up between them, so it is down to use mere mortals to encourage membership and support of them.
I think an even more united front can only be for the good.

Aye, he died last August, but the coroners can take a jolly long time to return their verdicts if an inquest is held. I'm guessing that they have almost been gagging to find this tentative correlation.
I can imagine if a vaper died in a car accident it would have been because they were topping off their cartridge, or a horse riding accident, then the vapour would be blamed for scaring the horse.

Perpy, I've just watched the second half of vapour trails TV and Cat saw the news article. The doctor apparently called for e cigs to be rigorously tested in the next 2 years (or words to that effect)
I'm not generally big on conspiracy theories, but this gentleman died in August last year, just before the MRHA consultation. Could it be at all possible that GPs, surgeons and the like were encouraged to report if any of their vaping patients subsequently died?
And testing within the next two years...... Now, why does two years ring a bell?
Just to add to that - how often do doctors get interviewed on tea time news when one of their patients dies from a smoking related disease??

My insurance has gone up from £400 to £429 this year - again, full no claims on this one and on another vehicle, which seems to count for nowt.
I'm lucky that my car is still new enough not to need MOT yet, and my lovely Dad is a mechanic and does my servicing (I bought him a new B & D workbench for the latest service) but the fuel is horrendous, considering I do around 15,000 miles a year. I filled up yesterday to the tune of £80, and that's for a diesel, which will do me around 400 miles. Car tax is £125 a year - a lot cheaper for a modern car than my old ones ever were.
