I was not posting about your build Toondog, but about the general advise of turning the temp up and watts down and didn't want temp limiting noobs to think it was the way to go. Your absolutely correct though. The wire is far to thick for the subtank had the guy hunting around the shop for thinner to no avail. It still is, to me, useful to know the lower watts higher temp shenanigans as we've all made builds that perform fantastic in the kitchen and then turn to crap when we're no where near home

As a recent convert and "veteran" of the grand total of three TC builds I have to say my experience is the exact opposite of yours. I picked up an Evic VTC Mini a few days ago and some 5mm Titanium wire, 6/7 wraps on a 2.5mm screwdriver with muji and I'm loving life! I have my builds in subtanks from 0.14-0.16 ohms at 25 watts 450-550 f and it's simply magic, stacks of flavour and a quite silly amount of vapour. My coils are very close but not touching. Sounds like it could be a wicking thing? Try turning up the temp and lowering the watts, that way it'll take you longer to hit the temp, that seems to be working for me. Keep on with it, it reall really is worth it. Chris IMO never take the "turning up the temp and lowering the watts" option, if that solves it it is a sign that your build could be a lot better. Particularly it is a sign of not enough surface area, it could also be airflow, wicking or the mod, but these are easier to spot. Temp limiting will cut the power if the wire is getting too hot and it is better to spread that heat than to override the temp limit or turn down the power. As I said above more wraps and/or increased coil diameter are the easy ways, thick wire can make it more difficult. 5mm Ti was all they had in the shop, I can't increase the diameter of the coil as with that thickness of wire it makes contact with the top section of the deck when you screw it on. I'm happy with them as they are for the moment but when I get home (working away, no pliers or stronger glasses just my readers and a single little blue job) I'm gonna get some 4mm wire and have some fun. Considering I'm doing it wrong I'm still impressed with the vape. Very impressed. Chris.

Thanks for all of your input peeps, I ended up grabbing an Evic VTC mini from a b&m whilst working in Barrow, a little computer shop that has a sideline (considerable sideline) in vape stuff. I simply love it. I've got three titanium builds on the go now and they're all performing flawlessly. Don't think I'll use the power mode after all! But when I did (for about two hours) it was great. Feels fab in the hand, solid but dinky and the screen is just excellent. Cheers
Chris.

Nice one Toondog what do you think of the evic??? does it look reliable? Mine is on the slow boat not to bad as it should be here by beginning of next week. So far so good, still early days but I must say I'm very impressed, it's incredibly accurate and hasn't given me any trouble in temp control, I've got three builds on the go now, all titanium in subtanks and I'm enjoying every hit. I haven't had a single cold vapourless hit yet, I haven't tried it in bypass mode but I did have a look to see what watts it could give on a fresh battery with a .5 kanthal build in and it was something crackers like 110! It was flawless in power mode but to be fair I only used it in that mode for a few hours before I put a titanium build in. Really straight forward to use and it feels really solid in the hand, zero play from the battery door, very precise fit and the spring loaded positive batt connection means even my big fat and long purple effests pop in with out any hassle. I couldn't be happier to be honest. Chris

Just finished my first TC build half an hour ago and I'm totally sold! Picked up an Evic VTC mini in town and some titanium wire, the build is 0.19 ohm in a sub tank mini at 450f and vaping fantastically. It hits straight away and I can see this extending battery life by a considerable margin. The biggest bonus for me is flavour, lots and lots of flavour! Just had the urge to share Chris

Hi all, I'm after a mini box mod that takes a single 18650 and will also step down. I have the ipv mini one which works great but isn't that mini, I wanted something a little stealthier for the train so went to a shop in barrow where I was working to get something. They didn't have anything other than the clouper mini, the bloke was honest and told me what I already new, don't charge through the USB as 1 in 4 he sells get returned because of that also not the best built. In fact he said he hated them and wouldn't recommend it but if I still wanted one just for the train/stealth/backup he would knock the price down to 25 quid, hey ho I thought and bought one. However! I now realise that it doesn't step down and I build my subtanks at .5ohms so literally have to vape at 30 watts (or more ?1?) all of the time. Not good for stealth. I I set my heart on the ipv d2 but have just realised that doesn't do step down either! I don't fancy the sig 30 watt as I change attys A LOT and have heard a lot of people bemoaning the poor threads. So! Any suggestions for a 18650 box mod around the size of the clouper or d2 that isn't a the sig and does step down? I'm a bit stumped now! Thanks in advance
Chris.

Chefs have always had really fair postage rates and as perps says the free p&p mob just add it to the price anyway. Chris I paid £4.40 postage ... icon_shoppingm My order wasn't really substantial? 5x TPA concs, 1 DV glass in 10ml and a 30ml, so paying almost a fiver for an order is too expensive for me. For the 2nd time in two orders I'm missing a concentrate and there's no ticked off list on bill, or note written to let me know if I'm due a refund? Of course, sods law its never the cheaper TPA missing, its Cappela so basically its cost me £7 postage..... Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that, I've only ever had one missing conc and there was a hand written note and two free ones in the box, they refunded my PayPal too. It is the 30ml bottles that knack the postage. They won't go large letter unfortunately. Chris

I'm rather excited about this but I'm afraid I'm going to have to wait for the attack of the clones (boo I know!) I have a v2 clone and it's just amazing. Enjoy!

Not daunted, a 2500mah batt wouldn't last me the day and I'm not keen on having to have a hex key with me to change batt. Simple as that really. More straight forward ways of doing it. Don't see why you should care if I prefer magnets or a screw cap? If you like it you go for it. Chris It was supposed to be a little joke chris. Sorry please accept my apologies. Long day. Chris
