All this gear relies on certain manufacturing tolerances, and fractions of a mm make the difference between working properly, erratically, or not at all. Add a bit of wear due to normal use, and previously-working combos suddenly become unuseable, it's just a fact of life unfortunately

...we'll never know the real answers to these questions, and that's the thing that's wrong with politics these days, too many shady backroom decisions with no proper public scrutiny...

if your coils are 2.2 ohms, then I would expect around 7-8 watts should be fine, so if they're dry-hitting at 7.5, turn it down a touch... remember, it's not all about "how high can you go", it's about finding the right level for your coil/tank/juice combo that matters

I suspect beautycat 's coils are a bit lower ohms than yours, 1.8 or 1.5 ohms, so can usually go a bit higher power on a lower resistance....

I found this when I was re-wicking protank coils with cotton - I just couldn't take to it. It's probably better for the high-VG juice users, but I find silica better on high-PG juice, I still like my throat-hit
