I realise this may be slightly controversial, but I'm contemplating the possibility of "doing a Clive" (Bates, he tested the ease of this) and buying in higher concentrations in smaller amounts from abroad (HiLiq was mentioned on another thread), and diluting it down before freezing it. I'm not talking about 1000mg/ml, but the same supplier does 100 and 200mg also... need to do the maths to see how feasible it will be, even if I only use that for my juice only and keep Mrs.G-J and Mini-Gun#1 on the "regular" stuff I have in the freezer already, just to de-risk the option.... any thoughts anyone?? edit:- I've been mixing my own for 3 years now, so think I can tick the "expert mixer" box to enter their website  |

I know its American but the FDA are more uptight than the UK but the idea must be the same thought From Facebook I called the FDA to ask them how these new regulations affect me as a DIYer and this is what they emailed me back: Thank you for contacting the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its recently finalized rule, “Deeming Tobacco Products to be Subject to the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, as Amended by the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act” (Deeming rule). You indicated that you are a consumer that mixes e-liquids in your home for personal use. If you are mixing these components for personal consumption only, then you are not regulated by the FDA. If you are mixing these components and then selling them to others, you would be considered both a retailer and a manufacturer. A retailer includes any person who sells tobacco products to individuals for personal consumption, and a manufacturer means any person, including any repacker and/or relabeler, who manufactures, fabricates, assembles, processes, or labels a finished tobacco product. To assist the newly-regulated tobacco industry in complying with the requirements, the FDA has published the Small Entity Compliance Guide (need link) which is intended to help small businesses understand and comply with the Deeming rule. The Retailer Overview of FDA Regulations for Selling Tobacco Products (need link) gives a concise summary of what retailers selling tobacco products must do to comply with all applicable federal laws. The E-Cigarette product specific page (need link) is another useful site lists some of the requirements that directly apply to manufacturers. I wish they wouldn't keep referring to our vaping products as "tobacco" products. Jeeze we've all given up tobacco for goulds sake  THERE IS NO TOBACCO IN E-LIQUID no toots there isn't... but if you read the FDA regs, ANY COMPONENT including batteries, wicks, wire, etc. that can be used to consume a tobacco product is under this rule.... and there's even less tobacco in some silica wick or a roll of kanthal than there is in jiuce  |

I went into my Doctors surgery today and there is a huge 7ft high banner saying stop smoking with the help of e-cigs!! Shame they are so late to the party!!! That is (excuse my language) F*****g brilliant!!! Well done them  |

All credit to Matt Ridley, he's been a very vocal vaping advocate for as long as I can remember, hats off to the guy and I'll tag Postmodern Smoking as well ....
Right at the beginning of the debate, Ridley starts off with "In 10 days time it may become law (The TPD)" [sic] so I was hoping somewhere in the debate there would be a plan to do something about it, so I think I'm just a bit disheartened that, after watching to the end they seem to accept its going through as is.
Yes, they did raise the issue of a public information campaign (in lieu of banned advertising), suggested light enforcement, and frowned on any potential possibility of additional taxation, but .... frowning on any potential possibility of additional taxation ? That won't stop them taxing it when it suits them..... and then frowning about it. suggested light enforcement ? That won't help when a vendor gets arrested or fined or shut down by weights and measures at some point, because its only a suggestion.
We may be getting off lightly compared to some and all credit to Ridley etc for bringing up the subject for debate, but it was just a bit of a let down at the end 
the thing is, they have to adopt a certain speaking style when in the chamber, which is what the above smacks of, but if you've seen/heard Matt Ridley on tv/radio, or read some of his editorials/letters, he's far more with it than you are under the impression he is  |

Hello all, Well the EVODs arrived and apart from the first one I tried not working (dud coil), I must say I'm quite encouraged. But they could do with a bit more 'bang', but I think that may be my fault and that I might have made yet ANOTHER error (this trial and error thing is getting expensive). I bought them from vapourised.co.uk and ordered 4 x 5 packs of coils with them. Now the only coils they seem to stock are 2.8ohm but I've now noticed elsewhere that you can buy as low as 1.5ohm. Would this make much of a difference do you think? Using cartomizers I found there was quite a difference between the 2ohm and 3ohm versions, so is 1.5ohms where I need to be with these?  if using on an ego-type battery, I found the 1.8ohm coils were the best suited to those batteries, and a good all-rounder juice-wise* * I should mention, some juices are better at a higher power, some are better at a lower power, the 1.8 coils on ego-type gives a good spread of performance when used with many different juices... |

I watched it and though I agree that they got it, they don't seem to be doing anything about it - I would love to be proved wrong though. I don't think that there's a lot that they can do... the UK is legally obliged to implement the TPD. I do however think that we're getting off lightly compared with a number of other EU countries and their interpretation of it.
