One of my packages seems to be AWOL at present, no tracking update for 8 days, so i put a ticket in and got this response. That seems to be the stock reply. It was mentioned on the FT forum that in order to give the free posting they have an arrangement with the carriers to use only unused carrying capacity. If the flight is at or very close to the weight limit, nothing gets posted. This hits the UK badly as most long hauls are on the limit with fuel and passengers.

Windows is just a more popular platform as it was so widely used, and windows has to accommodate a vast array of different hardware specifications so it's easier for security holes to become present and taken advantage of, mac's tend to have much less loopholes as the operating system is created for specific hardware. Very true digiw0rx. A marked changing point was when Motorola was ditched and Intel came on the scene.

My personal choice for Windows OS is Comodo Internet Security Suite. It's free, full featured and includes auto sandboxing for unknown executables. Another useful addition is a ' Virtual Machine' type of environment where you can test run apps before letting them loose on your machine.

Macs don't really get viruses. Don't believe the hype. They can and do!

Evidently Innokin threw a 'hissy fit' because Fasttech were selling below their price fixing and hinted that they were counterfeit. Fasttech have countered this hence the second announcement. Wonder is the same will happen with Provape? Oops... just seen this thread. Let's not get into the Vaporjoe k(l)ickback argument.

FastTech have the Vamo delivered now for less than some retailers sell the board for.

Nice one, drill mill next on the list for me mate. A drill mill ,, NO NO NO, Don't do it. Hey... I used to build them back in the 90's. A good knee type mill with a 90 degree attatchment will do quite a bit. I wish I had a MkIV, they were pretty tough. Our ATC Crusaders were not so robust though, this was mainly due to the CNC control.

Chill Ron! I don't think anybody thinks you're trying to tuck them up. Your offer is good and your honesty is not in question.

Hi Ron. You might want to look here. Please don't take this the wrong way. With batteries this is not too bad a deal.

I like to wind the wick before fitting the wick to the deck, that way it has a chance to relax a bit and make itself a snug rather than tight fit. I do the same Mark. It's a damned sight easier to wind the coil and keep the tension the same in your fingers than it is trying to dodge the center post each time. Then tweak it for height when it's all fitted.

Hi Womble, for me, the juice burn has been the most effective prevention against shorts... that and a few 'pulse' burns. I'd agree with you, but the guy in the video above states that the more carbon (which is effectively what you are doing) you put on the wick, the less well it will suck up juice by capillary action, you're blocking the holes which make it work. But that's the problem, capillary action doesn't want holes it needs something it can 'cling' onto (ie. flat sides).

Interestingly that video posted above by Mark, shows him not burning juice on a wick (indeed, he says that was old school and now we understand more, it doesn't need to be done) and neither did the 2 latest videos I've seen from Todd and Dave Dorn. Hi Womble, for me, the juice burn has been the most effective prevention against shorts... that and a few 'pulse' burns. The other option is to use a sleeve under the wick but IMO that introduces another problem with taste and you might as well go back to silica. I'll stand by the adage, SS for tobacco and silica for sweet.

With 0.2ohms, you must have a serious short Dan. If you have a multimeter try testing between the top of the wick and the deck and see if you get the same or similar resistance. Don't worry about the wick touching the bottom of the tank because if the coil is good then there is no path to ground. My best guess is that you need to 'soot' the wick a bit more (burning juice on the wick) and not wind the coil so tight. The next suggestion is to try ribbon Kanthal as it's a lot more forgiving.
All the best...

It's quite a straight forward repair Jo. Just a Stanley knife, soldering iron, some 2 pack adhesive and a little super glue.
I'd be happy to do it for you if you can justify the postage.
