well with the vouchers the acer may be a good buy for you, your old lappy is certainly due an upgrade lol, you may get something for it on ebay which will make the acer even cheaper  what was your clan name? our paths may have crossed in counter strike or Day of defeat. I was in WAL, B2Z, KINgs for a while and now M2S on BF3.  |

Windows 7 64 bit is most stable general public operating system, Windows 8 is for tablets or touch screen devices, Intel have always been faster than AMD but AMD are cheaper and can be overclocked, unlike the latest Intel stuff, windows Vista is a system / memory hog and equivalent to windows ME which was a disaster.
Windows XP is a good operating system but getting dated and security flaws are starting to be exposed and not supported / repaired by Microsoft.
Try Ebuyer for a laptop, will be cheaper and better spec, are you a gamer ?? if not then the graphics chip is not as important to you and it will be a whole lot cheaper if you dont need it.

As above, look for a knurled part on the bottom of the laptop, it should be spring loaded, this will eject the battery, then put the model number of the battery into ebay and order a new one, use a UK seller and then replace your old one, should be as good as new. Battery should be around the £14 mark.

Blackarrow - i have the same problem although i dont think it's as bad as yours, i get redness of the forehead and dry skin on my face, never had the problem before, i'm drinking about 2 - 3 litres of water a day and still have the issue, i just use the wife's moisturiser cream (first time in my life) and vape less, i found that changing my clearo from a vivi nova to an iclear 16 helped a lot, dont know why but it did, unless i was getting used to it by then. Anyway i'm trying to reduce the vaping with a view to quitting altogether, seems like your well on the way to doing this too.
