Welcome!
I'm going to leave the answering of questions to others, I can see why answering questions can be difficult 😂
I use a mech squonker (don't worry about this) and a regulated. No need for various devices, although some would argue with this. My regulated device only really gets used as an OHM checker.

Handy having a bricks and morter shop at end of road We have two in my local shopping centre, which is up the road from me, but they both look a bit... 'trendy' so I've never stepped in. Sometimes I'm tempted to go in and ask if they stock (something random) like mesh wick, kanthal wires, squonk bottles or ceramic cups ... as its all wall to wall premium juices and sub ohm gear i'm put off a bit! Definitely helps, and I completely agree. They are generally quite daunting. The shop by me is the only place I haven't found them patronising and arrogant as well, when I first purchased my mech, the guy in the shop spent about 3 hours with me teaching me all the safety etc. It was awesome haha

Welcome back how’s your vape shop doing. Good I think mate, there are only two where I live. The new one sells CBD e-liquid which must make them an absolute killing. Tewkesbury is mad for the stuff lol! Hiya Jack, and welcome back Very glad to hear you're still happily vaping and self reliant on the vape front. It's always great to hear when old members pop back onto AAEC, that they are in the ether contently chuffing away! Thanks for the warm welcome back. I've slipt back to stinkies once or twice when I've been drinking, but actually quit that too now. Since this vape shop opened up 😋

Morning Haven't posted here for ages, so I guess I'm kinda new again! For anybody that remembers me, I now have an S-Rabbit Clone Squonk mod and build my own coils 😮 (I now have a vape shop at the end of my alleyway) Hi though everybody, I'm Jack

I understand that concept, for TC, but it's a VW question. What use is it here? I would presume (probably wrongly) that the coils used are Kanthal or similar? And, like you say, useless to the uninformed. Simply for accuracy, the ohms reading provides the base line for the mod to make its calculations when determining the correct wattage to provide. To the average vaper who just adjusts his mod to taste this feature will be nothing more than a confusing unnecessary extravagance. Spot on. I never even knew I had to worry about the ohm reading that was read. However I have now found out I can't even use the TC mode with the coils I'm using because they are Clapton wire But i can still adjust the initial ohm by 0.5 I tend to amend it to as close to 0.4 as possible as the coils are 0.4 resistance. But Yeh for me it is totally unnecessary, but learning all this has opened a new world of possibilities haha

I think it was all too do with the ohm reading. I've only had to do it once since (unscrew, put back on, check the ohm reading displayed and accept the new one) I just find it so weird the instructions don't mention this at all, until you all helped I had no idea what the whole ohm thing even meant (my fault though for not researching) It now correctly reaads the coils between 0.43 and 0.48 Thanks everybody

donov6 - if you do get a higher than normal reading, unscrew the tank, press the fire button (you should get a 'check atomizer' message, or 'no coil'), then screw the tank back on and press fire, at which point it should prompt 'is this a new coil?'. Hit Yes, and you should be fine. Make sure there is no condensation or juice inside the 510 fitting, removing it with some kitchen towel or loo roll. This will help the mod get a good contact on the tank to read the resistance accurately. Thanks a lot. Fingers crossed!

Small changes in resistance (ohms) are easily possible due to variability of electrical contact. ... if a screw isn't done up properly or poor contact of a 510 connector of the atomiser to mod e.g. how tightly it is done up, etc. I am not familiar with the device in question to give an answer to whether or not it might be faulty. VapingBad, and others may give their opinions later when they come online. You have been really helpful. Thanks a lot

The device - what is it by the way? - will only accurately measure the resistance if the coil is at room temperature. It's a Smok Knight. Koopor Mini 2 mod and helmet tank. This might actually be what it is, it's so easy to change juice im unscrewing it and putting it back together every 5 minutes

Worth swapping the coil if there interchangeable kind to rule a duff coil out before considering the mod to be faulty. Also you could try cleaning the 510 threads on the tank and device, preferably with some alcohol. could be dirty contacts. I will give this a go, I always wipe the thread with kitchen roll when I change juice, maybe not the best idea?
