Hi melitahams. I got my first "proper" rebuild able a couple of weeks ago and opted for an rsst. They reasons being, 1 the insulated wick hole prevents and shorts 2the tank has a base so again reduces the chance of shorts 3 very easy to capture the wires from the coil 4 well made piece of kit 5 I wanted a tank rather than a Dripper atty Only down side is that the tank is made of polypropylene so beware what juices you put in Before I got this I practised recoiling my protank heads.

Mr Phil says that the performance was really good on the one he is testing but isn't sure if it is available yet, although he said the flavour wasn't huge. He mentions it on his scorpion review

I agree with all the above! I have a Vamo for my day to day use and also use it to check for shorts on any coils I build. I have recently got a Magneto to use with my rsst and this simply allows be to build coils between 1-1.3ohms which won't fire on the Vamo. Again I am not looking to go sub-ohm so this works for me. There are plenty of peeps using rba's on regulated mods which is fine as long as the coils is above the minimum for the mod. One way round the is to use a dna powered mod which will allow (I believe) low res cools but adds the advantage of being protected/regulated. Ie the opus d. I think the old adage of "don't run before you can walk" applies a bit as once you go mech you have to be aware of amp limits on batteries and power drain etc. If you are happy on a reg mod then it definitely has advantages. It just depends what you are trying to achieve

Ok so i have just done my first microcoil with what I had so used 0.2 wire with cotton from some balls. Coil came out at 2.6ohms due to the wire (7 wraps) and it's in the protank. Vapour is definitely increased and taste is good. So I'm on my way. Will try for a lower ohm when the supplies arrive from the mesh company but for a first attempt I'm pretty happy. I think I'll keep a spare head with silica in my bag incase the cotton burns when I'm out and about. Thanks for all the advice guys.

spikus you could try an electronics store or model radio control store if you have one local, the nitecore chargers are actually designed for recharging their torch batteries (Damn expensive touches mind!) so maybe an outdoors store that stocks them? Amazon have them as well and you could get next day delivery

Omg all these new things to try! So I'll leave the rope for now, happy with the mesh at the mo on the rsst so will concentrate on the cotton and micro coils on th he protank! Then maybe get some bamboo yarn and then moved onto the rsst to play! Thanks for your time and advice today

Greigster you are The Man, thanks for the link I was on another site of the same name. Now while I'm ordering I might have a cracking with wire rope in my rsst, now what do I go for? Sorry for the questions but as we all know it is the quickest way to learn!

Gents you are extremely helpful, only downside is mesh company doesn't do 0.3 kanthal :-( the biggest they seem to go is 0.25. May have order the 0.3 else where Thanks for the quick responses

Hi all, I want to start playing with some micro coils and wondered what the best gauge wire to use? Currently I have 0.2 a as I am just putting an order together I wondered if I should be using a different gauge that would give better results? Any advise would be apreciated

Congratulations on being an "Ex" and joining the vaping gang! Like you I had a stinky a few days after moving to vaping and hated it. 20 months after switching I can honestly say I have no wish to ever have one again

I have spent a fortune on postage costs. Most vendors seem to have a flat rate, if you are only getting one 10ml bottle or some heads or similar surely they could have a cheaper option. I know what you mean I pay the same postage if I'm ordering10ml or 100ml, is it a cunning plan to make us buy more so the postage is more efficient!

Looks like I'm the poor boy of the group! Just running a Magneto for my rsst and a Vamo v2 for my protank But am considering (if it counts) a mvp v2 for those long fishing /camping sessions and dream or fogger for everyday, or maybe a spheroid!
