Hi Just had a tester of the cherry liquid i made earlier today for my wife, now i realise that its only made today so needs time to steep but one comment from her it never gave her a throat hit. As i understand it higher pg to vg ratio increases the hit or adding vodka to the recipe(seems to be a little debate over the effectiveness of vodka??) Question is...is there any other options for increasing the throat hit of a liquid? Recipe i used was 70/30 pg/vg ( 72 mg nic diluted to 18 mg )with 15% cherry , 3% vodka and two drops of stevia Thanks

I ,d agree with everything said so far (well almost everything as im not so sure that when i went to nightclubs many many years ago now , standing with my mates at the edge of the dance floor with a cigarette hanging from the side of my mouth that id have felt quite so cool if id replaced the cigarette with a carrot ... but then in reality, latter teenage years "coolness " to the girls i was convinced i was impressing id probably not look any less silly with a carrot as a cigarette in my mouth . Anyways... i digress ......I think (and just my theory )alot of smokers have addictive personalities , so vaping more than makes up for the loss of smoked nicotine and already i ve managed to drop my nic content without really even noticing (only from 24 to 18 but its a start) but my "smokers mind" is kept real busy reading as much as i can on my new found obsession that is vaping. As for how much nic compared to the roll ups i smoked i do think im getting around the same but i ve noticed i dont get the slight dizziness from vaping as i did from smoking after having gone for a long time without a nicotine fix ... but then maybe that feeling was nt the nic but the smoke itself and other chemicals involved. I read an article the other day from a scientist (or i assumed he was) explaining that its much harder to gage nicotine taken in by vaping as opposed to smoking as so many different factors involved in vaping....(Ill try later on to refind the article) cheers

A few years ago i bought the Allan carr book on stopping smoking. It soon became obvious his whole ethos was built around smoking being something we learnt to think we like but did nt really...we just think we did.... that really bugged me to the point of not even finishing the book as i constantly thought as i read yet another affirmation from Mr Carr that i really did nt like smoking (my mind just kept saying ..."no Allan i really do actually quite like smoking and i will miss it if i succeed, but im very concious that stopping smoking not only improves my health but stops me wasting silly money in the shops on tobacco") How annoying is it to go into a shop for a few things which would cost under a fiver then remember i needed more tobacco only to find my £4.75 purchases had swelled to just shy of £20.00.? So yes i do kind of miss smoking but weighing it all up im so bloody glad to slowly move away from smoking and at some point down the line remove my dependancy on nicotine altogether. So i guess im saying its an 80/20 % decision....80 % good in stopping smoking so i can live with the 20% of missing the smoking culture.(but yes i agree that the 20% is missed sometimes) cheers

Could nt agree more on better spending on the shiny things rather than tobacco
Was an added bonus when i realised that learning about vaping helped the stopping smoking by diverting my mind from smoking to learning something new.

Out of the suggestions which would have the most DIY rebuildable options available ? thanks Vivi Nova, Protank and Evods . . . all the heads are rebuildable on them Rich. Thanks Perpetua Although being a bit childish and spoilt im now eyeing up the carto tank link you just posted and watched the video... i like those also (in fact i can now see how so many of the people here get carried away with the vast array of equipment out there)

Hello Im a couple of weeks in now and all is going ok. I ve been watching loads of you tube vids and reading alot of posts here and im starting to very slowly get my head round things. So could anyone recommend a tank i could buy that would fit on my Riva 1100 battery but possibly with a view to still being used if i upgraded from the 1100 to a variable voltage battery in due course? Also im reading alot of people freezing nic base.I ve got nic base on order to start making my own but im a bit lost as to when to freeze(if for example i had a nic base that id expect to last three months is there any need to freeze or to word another way how long will a supply last without being frozen?(im thinking of storing up to one years supply bough over the next month or so. Finally (for now ) I like using the cartomisers also but like the idea of replacing the poly filler inside to extend the life (not just cost saving but the self sufficency thing).....Could someone recommend carts suitable for this and where i could buy spare material? Thanks in advance....Rich

Hey Rich64 I've tried a few different "tobacco" flavours and they are, without exception, rubbish. Taste at best like the inside of an old cig packet. I have concluded that vaping is not smoking and that it is futile to hope otherwise. That was disappointing, but having tried various fruit and food-type flavours and enjoyed most of them, it is starting to look like vaping really does have a lot to offer. I just don't expect it to be like smoking tobacco any more!Cheers - JonoHi Jono I ve tried a few tobaccos and liked them and a few i have nt(and one that i mentioned earlier that tasted of nothing ) but my wife simply has nt liked any of them and as a result of orxdering her up some fruit flavours etc its had me realising i may well after all end up preferring the non tobacco flavours as im surprised at how much i like the menthyl (I detested menthyle cigarettes) Anyways juries still out and early days on my discovery mission cheers Rich
