Let me know when you've cracked it then please steve, I'll go for one or two I'll try and remember, but keep your eye on the main UKV RTA options thread incase I forget.

Not yet. It's one the jobs I'll be doing over the Christmas break that I've promised myself. How much do you think you'd charge for a black top cap Steve? If it works out like I think it will, around £6 plus postage for an anodised tube as a spare part. Less if bought as an option with a new device.

Can you post a pic of the insides? I'm a bit wary of trying to fix it for you, incase it's glued together. Wouldn't want to make it worse!

I just googled "Cigtech Gold Rush", and got possibly the shortest results list I've ever seen. This post was top of the list, then a few posts from bicycle forums. Nothing else.
Does it look like it comes apart for fixing?

Very interesting hypothesis, borne out by my experience, too.
Which other rebuildables have the coil at the top?

Excellent news, and great to have more confirmation that washing/burning really works.

I don't think that you have to be a member, but you should think about joining anyway. It's a totally different forum to this one. Plenty of good advice, but it doesn't have the friendly feel of this place. More opinionated and technical, but well moderated, so it doesn't get out of hand.
Cheers Steve

You can get Kanthal from a German seller on eBay, or nichrome from the place you mentioned - wires.co.uk. Kanthal has a higher resistance than nichrome. I started out with 0.16 Kanthal, and now use the equivalent resistance nichrome wire, which is 0.13. With this wire, you'll be able to make a coil anywhere you like between 1.5 and 3 ohms - each turn of the coil is about 0.4 ohm. Thicker wire is better for low resistance coils, as you need to use more turns, so you have more surface area to vaporise the juice. You get the group buy wick here: groupbuy.vapezones.co.uk/repairable-atomiser-wickIf you run out before the group buy stuff arrives, PM Tim (rawveg) and he will help you out. Blakey will be back to post a link to the CE2 supplier. I supply a metre of wick and wire, which is enough to make 12 or 13 wicks. They last a week or more, so there's no rush to get more supplies.

2 niggles:
The pips on the bottom cap are uncomfortable in the palm of my hand. Minor mod will fix that. It has a 10 second safety cut-off, which I keep hitting. No idea that I toked for so long.
Obviously it doesn't have the solid, quality, feel of a Provari, but it's a bit of a bargain.
