Hi fizzie, welcome to a confusing world. A DECENT quality Variable Voltage battery (Spinner, innokin etc.) will help, try and think that " I'm NOT stopping smoking, I'm taking up Vaping!" Make sure you have a couple of decent batteries, a quality Tank/Clearomiser (the thing you put juice in) find out how to do basic maintainance (its easy, ask on here or look it up on the just starting out bit on the home page) and be prepared to be surprised by the flavours of juice you may begin to fancy. Oh, and a new member on here reckons a side effect is feeling "Friskier" Drink PLENTY of fluid, as a side effect I can guarantee is dehydration.

I had a few little, 650mAh, batteries when I first tried Vaping they came with a couple of £10 cheapie kits, I got a decent Vision 1100mAh Spinner and then an itaste MVP. They both have adjustable Voltage and I find 3.8v is fine til evening time, then I up the voltage a bit and use a "Heavier" Vape in the evening. The cleaning and "Dry Burning" people talk about isn't that much hassle at all, honest, and it'll save you a few quid if you dont replace heads every time they gunk up, they WILL gunk up and lose oomph after a few days use, and some e-juices will gunk your heads more quickly. Vaping ISNT smoking, but if you get used to having a ready to go kit, and a couple of different juices to try (you will want to try different ones, I guarantee it!! Ginger, mmmm??) you have a distraction and a focus NOT to light up, then your willpower gets time to kick in. You're NOT giving up Smoking, just Vaping instead!! Good Luck, and welcome

I cant recommend buying a decent clearomiser and battery(ies) highly enough. Anything by Innokin is a good start, a decent "Starter Kit" is about £20, BUT be aware there is maintainance to do. It's easy enough, and there are loads of videos on youtube, as an ex-rollie smoker myself I actually enjoy the cleaning and "Dry Burning"as it fills the "making a rollie" experience I was doing loads of. Dont be frightened to ask advice on here, and be aware that SOME flavours of juice can crack plastic tanks, it is possible to get Pyrex/Glass tanks that are safe for all e-juice.

Blimey, that is a Bonny looking thing. I've got an MVP with an iClear 30 but this is very swish and may well be a possibility on my way to a Bespoke MOD!!

Further to my post on page 7, I stripped down the duff head that came pre-fitted in the Aspire to see if I could spot what was wrong with it. I could see nothing amiss but what I then noticed was that the end of the 510 positive pin (the end that shows) did not have the slot across the bottom that the two spare heads have. Since one of the spare heads has been performing great for the past few days, I wonder if this is what caused my "no air flow" problem? Any more feedback? It would seem you are giving the Aspire a decent work out, don't give up yet cos if you work out the teething problems, I might get one!!

Crack on Kid, getting fruitier when Vaping, maybe Todd'll review the possibilties!!! I Vape an iClear 30 with an MVP, I find upping the Voltage gradually throughout the day works for me, 3.8 'til mid afternoon, then gradually increase til 7ish, then mess about with the pretty display and see what happens. Have you tried cleaning and a "Dry Burn" on your coils yet? I found a BIG difference in taste!

And that's why I state that folk should watch other reviews and check the forums out before purchasing anything, I'm just a bloke in a shed with my own little opinion Never thought you were questioning my integrity, I'm from Fife, we don't have any Shed Men ehh????

I'm looking at getting a glass clearomiser to avoid problems with certain juices. Currently using EVOD. I'm thinking of the Protanks and want something that's simple and no fuss like the EVOD. Just wondering... why are people recommending the Iclear 16 and not for example the Iclear 30 S? I THINK the iclear 30s still has a plastic tank, although "improved" and claims to be fine for any e-liquid, I dont think they have been out long enough to know how they perform in the real world. I have the iclear 30, which is good and (relatively) cheap, but is limited on its range of compatibility with juices. There is a list of "Tank Crackers" on here if you search.

Would it be fair to say - any mod with a 3,400mAh battery (Panasonic etc.) is going to beat the MVP? Or have I just put my head in the stocks for some public ritual humiliation? ??? I think you are probably right djs, and I am looking at rebuildable atty MODs for the future. I am trying to find my personal best set up with (relatively) cheap, reliable mass produced equipment and flavours before venturing into the eye watering world of Bespoke MODs and self mixed flavours. I think the MVP, so far, is a cracker. I get through 2ish Tanks a day on an iclear 30 and the MVP goes well for at least 3 days without a charge. I need a bigger tank! Just wondering, any views on a Bottom Fill Single Coil vs Top Fill Dual Coil? I have a Dual Coil at the minute and have found a bigger tank, but its Single Coil.

Thanks all, just checking out Hyper tank and a ss drip tip. Yep the MVP is a grand power source so far, I like the variable aspect as I find I need less power earlier in the day, by evening time I've increased my voltage. Not quite sure about increasing wattage yet, I find it gives a burnt taste so am still experimenting! They don't both increase, if you up the volts, then the watts increase inline with it. The purpose of VW is so you can vape any atty with any resistance at that power. So if you put an atty on with a 2ohm coil at 8 watts it will be at 4v, but if you change the atty to one with a 1.5ohm coil and leave it at 8 watts it will now be at 3.6v (ish) Hope that makes sense? Yep,thanks ginge, I was beginning to figure out that with a pre-built head I only need to fiddle with the voltage really. At some point I will use rebuildable MODs, but at the minute I'm looking for steady and easy as I'm still struggling with not Smoking, and find Vaping already built and defined equipment is helping

I have bought mostly "Market Stall" juice and am not sure what % pg/vg these have been. Anyone point me to advice or threads discussing the relative pros/cons and %s to look for? I DONT like a "Sweet" aftertaste though, I do like decent amount of vapour, I'm using an iClear 30 at the moment, which has a Top fill Top Double coil, but am about to try a Bottom Fill single Bottom coil device. I use an MVP variable v/w, which I increase in power over the day.
