My experience with laptops is that (Li-ion) battery performance is noticably poorer after 6 months and predictably dodgy after 12 months.

Agree on wraps - there doesn't seem a very large selection available over here

You can't. They're two separate modes, both of them change the voltage, but they measure what change to make differently.

In VV mode you set the voltage directly, in VW mode you set the power you want through the coil and the voltage is calculated according to the resistance of the coil.
