slimbopp I know it will get pricey trying out everything people recommend but Hobbit's Choice from Vapemunki and Kent from LTecigs are both liquids I really like. They're both tobacco based but like all tobacco flavours they don't taste of tobacco at all they're just rich and soothing. They're both cheap as well. The headaches... if you're trying out your liquids again to see if you like them the chances are good that you're vaping non stop without knowing it. That is nailed on to give you a headache. It happens to me when I get a load of new juices in the post and I don't have a dripper (I really need to get one) so off I go exploring all the new stuff and get a headache within the hour. So try to pace yourself. I find house of liquids a closest ti the real thing and well very realistic cig flavours or cigar. The closer you get to the real thing the closer you get to something that has no flavour at all. That's why HoL stuff doesn't work for me. They have to 'mask' their version of the real thing with a flavour of some kind to avoid being completely banal.

I waited with bated breath but you didn't elaborate. I was going to buy you a pink Provari to make up for upsetting you but they seem to be out of stock Ha ha! I was a bit wined up to the gills last night sorry pal. Pink would match the whites of my eyes this morning though so be my guest Hey, been there, seen it done it bought the teeshirt! I just looked up pink Provari's on FT and what the hell? Nothing gives. Cheapskates! It would have clashed with your shoes anyway

Congratulations k8. I gave up alcohol completely for the first 6/8months of vaping, as a drinkie and ciggy just went together in my head . . . so I had to kick one into touch temporaily, to succeed in the other. So you've done really well. I thought that way too but then had no problems having a drink with a vape. Didn't bother me when I was out either, I was happy to join the smokers outside pubs who ban vaping and it didn't bother me at all. I never would have believed it I was always the one in and out of the pub to have a cig. How did you find it when you eventually had a drink without a cig I'm betting it didn't bother you in the slightest. Congrats k8 btw another huge hurdle successfully negotiated

Mods look terrible but you get a bit of extra battery power. If you're not worried about your batteries lasting a bit longer you don't need a mod. A mod is a battery inside a steel tube. Who ever thought that would be attractive? Well, nobody really, but there are increasingly desperate attempts out there to make them sound desirable. It's a battery in a steel tube. Don't be a fool and spend 200 quid on a battery inside a 'nice' steel tube. Just IMO. Like you, I wouldn't spend loads of money on mech mods. At least with vv devices, you're also getting electronics and various built in features for your money, but most mech mods are just metal tubes with contacts. There are many people who appreciate a hand made, engraved metal tube and will shell out big money for them, but they don't appeal to me enough for me to spend that much on them. The argument seems to be that they last you a long time. The same people then ditch their 'everlasting steel tube' and spend a fortune on the next 'everlasting steel tube' that comes into fashion. So much for that then.

This is an interesting thread. When I first started vaping I treated it 'almost' the same as having a cig but being aware inhaling lots into the lungs would be a bad idea. Now I vape and exhale through my nose and inhale the rest so kind of softening the blow. I get massive TH when I first vape any liquid in my clearo, then after a few drags it calms down. Like toots I get a big TH after eating as well. But I got so used to vaping the way I do I became convinced I no longer cared about TH. Then I got some juice framp Vapemunki (which I love, Hobbit's Choice is amazing) and some of it, well actually mostly Bazilla Custard I got NO TH at all and suddenly I was all WTF? And my new nonchalant attitude towards TH went right out of the window. I think some of us subconsciously still want some kind of TH. I think what we're experiencing as far as the thread topic goes is you just get used to the TH and forget it's there then when you stop or do something else (like eating) or sleep, it whacks you in the head again. Kind of like when you first smoked strong cigs and thought you didn't like it but then got used to the TH and it ended up feeling smooth because you became immune to the effect. I think we immunise ourselves against it more often with vaping. That's my theory, and it probably blows, but it's the only one I've got

I'm not going to ask what a battery box is. Nope. No chance. I'll just make one, even though I don't know what it is. Just a plastic box to stop your batteries shorting out, I started using them years a go when walkman AA batteries shorted against my keys. Made a powerful pocket warmer. A plastic box does the trick? Nice one, thanks for the info.

Hobbit's choice and new dawn from vapemunki. You won't want to vape anything else after it is the only problem.

The higher strength nic base works out cheaper in the long run as you use less... for example I use 72mg base and I mix at 18mg, so need 25% base. If I used 36mg base I woukd need twice the amount, but it's not half the price, if that makes sense? I dilute my VG purely to make it easier to use. It's very viscous and gloopy undiluted and it's very hard to suck up in the syringe. The ejuicemeup calculator works out everything for you. You just need to make sure you enter your nic base details, flavour % and required strength and PG/VG, then hit the calculate button. If you're unsure, post the resulting recipe on the mixology board and one of us will be happy to check your calculations for you Brilliant, thanks a lot

You don't really need to get a proper starter kit really. Do you have empty bottles from previous flavours? Just wash them out and use them, while you wait on fesh ones from Fasttech (https://www.fasttech.com/products/1411/10006152/1485901). Then nip to Boots and pick up a 1ml, 5ml and 10ml syringes along with a bottle of their value glycol (this is your VG, and you can water it down with vodka / deionised water at 15-20%). There is already a link above to pretty much the best deal on nic base around, so I won't bother to link you to that, but you can either get your PG there, or here : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/130853413769?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (much cheaper, but a huge amount). Then all you need is your concentrate. So a 30ml bottle or two from T-Juice and your good to start. As for why you need both PG and VG dilutants, well, it depends on what your mixing, what strength, what ratio and how strong your nic base is. But in general, I like to mix with a PG nic base at 72mg, to s strength of 18mg with 20% flavouring (for RA for example), with a 60/40 PG/VG ratio. So for a 10ml mix I use: 2.5ml Nic Base (25%) 1.5ml PG (15%) 4ml VG (40%) 2ml Flavouring (20%) This gives me the perfect ratio, for me. And in fact, assuming I just change the flavouring, and it is always 20% concentrate I use, the rest of the base stays the same, so when I'm mixing multiple flavours, I always mix the Nic base / PG / VG up first, in multiple bottles, then add flavours to each bottle depending on what I'm making. Why did you choose 72mg PG nic base as opposed to say 36? What does it affect just the amount you put in? So now you have PG in your nic base, some added PG, and PG in the flavouring too? Does the calculator work out all the overall amounts then? I'm probably making it more confusing than it actually is. One more question why would you want to water down the VG what is the point of that? Thanks a lot for the tips xs2man I am enjoying your impromptu alchemy class

Hi all. Since you're talking about DIY can I ask why nicotine comes in difference strengths and how do you know which str you should buy it in? i.e. if your juice is 18mg final str how do you know which nicotine to get? Also a question for Perpetua when you say get both plain PG and VG what do you mean? I thought you bought either PG or VG based nicotine then bought the one that doesn't come with the nic seperately? So confusing. Also any tips on a good inexpensive starter kit would be welcome or link to buy basic equipment. I have made it my new years resolution to get into DIY, sorry for all the questions I will read the guides as well I promise lol.
