Lol that would of been ideal I'm with you there on the gum though, I didn't enjoy it one bit, and made my tongue feel all funny too Ugh, yeah I remember that feeling too! Yeah, I ended up with a rash - problem was as I remeber you're supposed to put the patch in a different area of skin each time preferably in the stomach area - I ran out of areas i hadn't used there and they were a bit itchy from the patches anyway so I ended up reusing places I'd 'patched' before and they got itchier and then got red, bit like heat rash. Horrible, horrible! perpetua lol

LOL, shame he didn't prescribe e-cigs eh!
When I tried the gum it made me gag and almost throw up - disgusting stuff!

Just packing for a few days away and as I searched for the travel plug adaptors (to charge my e-cig batteries) I came across an old pack of nicorette patches - have to admit I immediately burst out laughing at the thought of how useless they were/are and got a strong urge to bin them with a shout of "I've quit now you useless barstewards, no thanks to you!" ... Rock on e-cigs (anyone want some free nicotene patches before I do actually bin them? )

Hi nicky, there's a lot of great advice in this thread but as Jemima says there's a few of us who've started around the same time which is great for support etc. I think all of us are having a slightly different experience with the vaping and cutting down/stopping the fags and that seems to be the case for everyone generally judging from comments across this and other e-cig forums. As has been said before don't beat yourself up when you have an analogue, just count the ones you haven't smoked - glass half full! I've found it relatively easy but I was on 10-12 roll ups a day (with filters which made them lighter strength) and I didn't like the smell or taste of ready made/straight cigarettes anyway so that helped. For you I'm guessing it'll take longer to come to that point so just go with the flow. Additionally I haven't smoked in the house for over 12 years since my wife gave up and my daughter was born (the kids still don't know I ever smoked and I'm not vaping in front of them either). It may be difficult for you with your husband around smoking but perhaps if you force yourself (you could try persuading him too) to only smoke in the garden it'll make smoking seem like more of a chore (it did to me for 12 years). You can then vape away indoors and make that the easy option. It's just a thought but reading your comments I've been thinking about what made it relatively easy for me to stop so quickly (despite having failed in the past using the dreaded patches and gum) ... having said that though I did have a couple of analogues in the first few days and just viewed those ones as part of weaning myself off the things - no worries Best of luck and keep us informed of how it's going.

Ah right, so they're trying to be subtle eh! Glad to see nothing gets past the all powerful mods, there's nothing more annoying on a forum than constant spamming especially if it's not dealt with quickly!

Oooh spammer, so leaving aside his/her propensity to drop random £s into posts (not necessarily a sign of a spammer) how did you spot he/she was a spammer because I can see no links to products, or have you removed them? Useful bump for the thread though

Going back to the issue of what to stuff into atomisers as a replacement for the polyfill stuff I just stumbled on this vid on YouTube - interesting use of a tea bag!

Lynda thanks for that, I think you're right about the taste buds. I think they're going slightly haywire at the moment and I'm finding if I eat/drink anything with a strong flavour it overwhelms everything else, including the taste of what I vape, sometimes making other stuff taste quite unpleasant. Very strange indeed but also quite interesting! Onions eh, can't say I'd want to vape on onion flavour lol

perpetua I'm surprised too! Jason, better than viagra it seems ... and obvously that's what I'm expecting and I'll be asking for me money back if it doesn't! Jemima, if I'm not mistaken you're of a female persuasion so if it does have that effect on you I'd suggest letting the medical world know because it'll be one hell of a medical/scientific miracle - not sure you or your SO be overly pleased after the initial novelty though
