dovemanI can send you an Iclear 30 if you like. An original one like the Iclear16 (many long wicks) but holds over 3ml juice. think I might have a cleaned used head. not sure. so you would need to get a pack of heads for it, (1 i think is about 2 quid.) Nice vape IMO but you canny rebuild them like a protank/ RBA/RDA (You can re wick them (and is recommended) with cotton or rayon) and the dual coil head will last for weeks so long as you don't damage it. let me know if you are interested. Ruffie. Thanks Ruffie, that's very generous of you. I'll PM you with my address. I need to order some heads soon anyway, so I'll get some Iclear30 ones whilst i'm at it. Do you suggest re-wicking them before first use or do you just mean that the wicks will need changing during the weeks that the head will last? I've never tried re-wicking but I'm sure I can find a thread on here to show me what to do

I started with a mini Protank 2 starter kit and a Vision Spinner 1300 mah battery, which I much prefer to the non-adjustable 650 mah battery that comes with the starter kit, because it's both adjustable and lasts longer. Even so, it doesn't last me all day and I have to swap batteries to get me through the day and put the other on charge. I also have to fill my tank about 2 or 3 times a day, as it only holds 1.6ml, although I do tend to fill it past the marker so I'm probably putting 2ml in it. I find it very hard to get a decent vape out of the starter kit battery, especially outdoors, so it's a pain if that's the only battery that's charged when I need to go out but it's better than nothing when I'm at home. So I decided I should get a bigger battery and tank, so hopefully I can just fill it once a day and the tank and battery will last me all day. I've ordered this 2600mah battery www.fasttech.com/products/1824803 which is double the capacity of the Spinner, so that should do the trick. I'm not sure what tank to get though. I'm looking at these: 1.8+2.2ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10006479/1760902-rg400-v2-bottom-coil-glass-clearomizer-4-0ml 1.6ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10009139/1813800-bottom-dual-coil-bdc-clearomizer-5-0ml 2.4ohm www.fasttech.com/products/0/10008617/1772405-t3xl-bottom-coil-clearomizer and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them, or can recommend something similar? I find I prefer the iClear16 heads, as the longer wicks seem to last longer, whereas the small wicks on the mini Protank 2 seem to get clogged up and discoloured/burnt much quicker. I have had problems with the iClear16 plastic tubes shifting out of the base though, no doubt due to being kept in my trouser pocket when I'm out. With one I was able to push it back into place and it's still usable but the other it looks like a bit has chipped off where it slots into the metal base and so it can't be fixed. I haven't had this happen with the mini Protank 2 but the glass tanks on those are designed to be replaceable (I've had to do this once after I dropped and cracked it), so even if it did get pushed out of place it would probably push back easily enough, or I could just replace the glass tube, which I'm not sure is possible with the mini Protank 2 plastic tubes. I think I prefer the warmer vape from the iClear16 anyway. So I suppose what I'm trying to say is that ideally I'd like a bigger tank that uses a head with wicks more like the iClear16 than the mini Protank 2, if such a thing exists.

I seem to be getting through about 3ml/day at the moment, which at 6mg/ml is three times the nicotine I was getting from 10/day 0.6mg cigarettes. I was only expecting to use about 1ml/day, so at around £5/10ml, which seems about average for e-liquid, is about £1.50/day. Still a lot less than £4.60/day for cigarettes but I think I'll be looking at mixing my own sooner rather than later to reduce the costs even more. 3ml is medium/average doveman, the vast majority of vapers vape more than they smoked to feel nicotine satisfied, our bods process the nicotine a little differently that's why. But DIY is the way to go, once you're set up with supplies, if you want to cut costs further . . . anything from 90p - £1.50 30ml costs me and the huge advantage of being able to use flavours at a strength that suit my tastes. Yeah, makes sense. I did think about getting higher nicotine e-liquids but I think it's more using the thing that I find comforting, so I'd probably use it just as much I'll read some of the threads about DIY once I've got time to learn about it, as I'm extremely bogged down with other stuff at the moment.

Thanks, I never thought to try e-bay for some reason. Guess I just thought I'd find them in a local hardware store or somewhere like that.

OK thanks, I guess I just need to chug a bit harder It did come through eventually, so it must have just been that it needed to boil off the water like des says, although I'll try soaking up some of the water with kitchen roll or pipecleaners (where do you get them from anyway? I was looking for some for a project a while ago and couldn't find them anywhere) next time to help speed up the process. I seem to be getting through about 3ml/day at the moment, which at 6mg/ml is three times the nicotine I was getting from 10/day 0.6mg cigarettes. What might cause a lack of vape after emptying and refilling the protank?
I just tried the Vaporiz Cappachino in my protank and didn't like it much, so emptied the tank, rinsed it quickly under warm water and put some Vaporiz Bananna in it. I kept trying it for about five minutes but wasn't getting any vape at all, just a taste of bananna. It's started working normally now but I don't think I've had this problem before. Did I need to let the wicks dry out before using it or something? I didn't really have time as I'd just stuck my iclear in Vodka to get rid of the strong pineapple tast from the Vaporiz Fruit Salad. It wasn't that I didn't like the taste, I quite did although the pineapple was a bit strong, I just wanted to get rid of the taste before trying a different flavour.

I didn't put the battery in the vodka, just the base of the tank that the head screws into I was getting to the end of my samples from Smoke Rainbow so bought a pack of 3 from Euphoric Vaping. euphoricvaping.com/product/3x10ml-intense-e-liquid-multi-pack/The Vanilla was pretty flavourless, not offensive but not enjoyable either (my favourite so far I think has been the Fruit Salad from Smoke Rainbow), the Tutti Frutti was disgusting though and tasted of perfume or air freshener! I'm trying the RY4 now, which is OK but I'm probably still getting a bit of the nasty flavour from the Tutti Frutti coming through, so I should probably clean my iclear16 as well to give it a fair chance, so could you advise the correct way to do that please (i.e. which bits I can stick in vodka!) If I haven't damaged the protank by sticking that part in vodka and it's OK to use, then I should try the RY4 in that to give it an untainted test as well. I think I prefer the cooler vape from the protank compared to the iclear anyway.

Hmm, maybe I shouldn't have drunk so much of the vodka. That's my excuse for my failure to understand quite clear instructions anyway, as by "protank base" I thought you mean the battery and forgot that the head unscrews from the base (despite having only replaced it the day before!) so stuck the base in the vodka as well Is it going to be salvagable from whatever damage I've done to it or will I just have to buy a new tank?

Well I couldn't seem to do anything about the thread showing, so can only assume that this is normal or that the tubes have just been made a bit longer than normal. It doesn't seem to be leaking anyway. I'm having a problem of a burnt taste when using it though. I changed the head yesterday as the previous one seemed to have worn out and I cleaned everything under running water and left it to dry before refilling it, in case it was just one particular e-liquid that was giving the burnt taste but I'm still getting it with the current one as well. It's not really noticeable at first, more of an aftertaste but I can smell it in the tank as well. Could I have burnt the new head already by letting the level get too low? I'm still using 1ml samples so am trying to get the most out of them but I'm not running them dry and there's a few drops dripping out each time I empty them to refill. I've ordered some 10ml bottles anyway, so I won't be so worried about running out soon

No thread showing on any of my mini protanks maybe you cross threaded it when putting it back together or there is a small o-ring (I think) maybe that needs moving a bit. It's ages since I got mine so could be a design change since then if it's not leaking I wouldn't worry too much Ah yes, it could be the o-ring out of place as one of them came out a bit when removing the old cracked tube. We pushed it back in but maybe not as far as it should be, so I'll see if I can adjust that. Thanks for the suggestion.

I received the replacement glass tubes for my mini Protank yesterday. I couldn't see how to separate the old broken one from the end pieces at first but my friend worked out that they were screwed to each other, so it was just a matter of unscrewing one end and then putting them on the new tube and screwing them back together. I've done this but notice a fair bit of thread is still visible and I don't know if it was like this on the old tube, so thought I'd best ask if this is normal before I try and use it. Maybe it's just the new tubes are a bit longer than the original one?

dovemanYou can buy glass tank £1.99 each only for the Mini Protank HEREAs for the Evod not working on some batteries all that you need to do is prise the centre pin up on your battery by about 1mm using a toothpick or something non conducting. See the video below. If this fixes the problem then remember to not over tighten atomisers when you put them on your batteries as it pushes the pin down. Nice one DiscoDes, I didn't realise that I could buy the glass part separately and was about to order a whole new tank (I was considering the full-sized Protank actually as it's only £2 more), so this will save me a lot of money. I think I'll buy two so that I've got a spare on hand just in case I manage to break it again! Thanks for the tip about prising up the centre-pin as well, I'll be very happy if I can get the iClear working with the Spinner as I much prefer to use that, so that I can adjust the vape to my liking. Even though it's a bit of a pain to clean, I wouldn't mind so much if I can use it with the Spinner and it's nice to have two filled tanks that I can swap over if I fancy a different flavour.

Hi guys. Sorry I couldn't make it to the meet, I had to help a friend with something that day. Anyway, I ended up buying the £19.99 mini protank kit from myepack, as even though I didn't really want that battery, it was effectively free (as some people said). I also ordered an iclear16 and heads from Fasttech. I bought a bottle of the USA Mix from myepack but that was disgusting and left a horrible chemical taste in my mouth for hours afterwards and I was worried that if all e-liquids tasted like this I wouldn't be able to vape. However, I also ordered some samples from Smoke Rainbow, which arrived nice and fast and they don't have this problem at all and I've liked them all so far except for the King e-cigar peach (1193) which they added for free but is far too strong for me and makes me cough when I try it! I got 6mg or 8mg for all the samples I choose, as my friend who started vaping before me told me he tried the higher nicotine and found them too high and he smokes stronger cigarettes than me anyway. 6mg seems OK for me and stops the cravings sufficiently to not need to smoke, although probably a lot of it is psychological and due to satisfying my need to do something with the vaping. I've got a problem with the iclear16 though as it doesn't work on my Vision Spinner 1300mah battery I bought from myepack, only on the 650mah EVOD battery that came in the mini protank kit. All it does on the Spinner is flash the light when I press the button. I don't really understand this as I thought they were all compatible. I'm not so keen on the iclear16 anyway because of the wicks in it that are a bit of a pain to clean when refilling with different e-liquid. I guess the protank has wicks at the bottom but they're very small and probably don't absorb so much e-liquid (they're not really accessible anyway, so I can only rinse them with some running water when I clean the tank but that's probably enough) I've also managed to break my mini protank, as you can see in this photo . I haven't dropped it but I think it might have fallen over when I stood it upright on the coffee table (which I thought I was meant to do for some reason, I mean keep it upright, not let it fall over!), so obviously that was enough to crack it I'll just have to be more careful with the replacement. So my vaping's pretty much on hold until I get another mini protank as the iclear16 doesn't work on my spinner and I find it a pain to clean anyway. I'll probably just get another one from myepack, as although FastTech would be cheaper (not sure they've got a V2 with the removable drip-tip though), in the time it takes to get here, I'll have spent a lot more than I'm saving on fags anyway.

doveman I really think it would help you so much if you can get along to the vape meet. Everyone at the meets are so friendly & helpful & no doubt they will let you you try out what they are using before you buy Yeah, I'm planning to go along and I'm sure I'll find it very helpful being shown the kit by some experienced vapers who understand it all
