In a perhaps not quite unrelated move, Chefs Vapour this evening announced that they will be setting up Chefs Flavours in March.

It's encouraging to finally see a retailer who's bothered to read the actual (draft) UK law (the Department of Health's interpretation of the TPD) about the sale of nicotine rather than repeat the received wisdom mistakenly put about by some who ought to know better.

Bet the guy is talking about the strawberry and vanilla bean ice cream mix I had the same with it it's the vanilla bean ice cream that I find don't like to be steeped, 1 week it's very nice 2 week it's terrible. Apparently adding a tiny amount (1% I think) of Dragonfruit will reduce the rate the strawberry flavour dies off. We're heading back into the realms of uncharted chemistry here so only experiment with what you'll be happy to dump if it all goes wrong.

I haven't been able to put the genuine Chow down since it arrived last week to be honest. I love the fact that it is delicious as a shake and vape with the benefit that it improves daily whilst the bottle lasts. I ordered £30 worth of genuine Chow concentrate the very next day and have enough here now for 600ml if I mix it at their recommended 20%. I worked the cost out to be just over £10 for 100ml of juice (all in), and that money for a one shot premium quality juice of this standard is hard to beat IMO and pointless trying to clone it whilst supply of the genuine concentrate is available. That said, I will still try to improve that clone recipe for fun and knowledge I think. I will start by reducing some percentages and adding nut (I think it's Acetyl Pyrazine in there) as well as maple or caramel (I think it's caramel as I keep getting brown sugar). That will nudge it closer I think, but there is something else savory in there that I just can't figure out at the moment. Have you ever used FA Oak Wood in a mix? If not, it might be an idea to grab some with your next order.

That's a very Lidl set of draws. Or a very large calculator and a jumbo-sized pen.

Good to see another good report for Darrant - I ordered a couple of litres from them last week to check out the quality of service as much as the products and everything was fine - even Yodel only took one day longer than expected. Over the next couple of weeks I hope a few more people will confirm that they're happy with Darrant rather that it just being the opinions of a few of us.
If nothing else, I hope they'll be seen as an alternative to Lubrisolve and Everything Liquid.
I lost mos of my faith in Lubrisolve a few months ago when it was spotted that their VG nic contained 20% water so, at best, it should have been labelled AG. And they tried to brush of a complaint by saying "that was how people preferred it" which completely missed the point.
Then customers started posting photos of the nic they'd just received that was clearly already colouring and I don't mean just a tint.
But it was when they started putting it about that they'd received "TPD clearance" (or that they'd been "cleared" or that they'd be "issuing a [TPD] compliant certificate" - the message changed several times) to continue selling nic up to 75mg/ml that I'd had enough and challenged them on twitter.
They tried to bluff their way out of it but - as I know a little bit about the TPD (sic) - I refused to be intimidated, so they offered a phone call to "explain it all to you in more detail for you."
It was a private phone call which touched on their business strategy, so I won't go into details but I'm almost certain that they've received no legal advice about the TPD, that they barely have a grasp of the concept of due diligence and that they believe they'll be able to justify continuing trading as they are because it's only Brussels interfering. (I kid you not.)
If you're happy with their products, pricing and service please continue using them. It makes no odds to me and I've no axe to grind.

I'll get an earlier train then! Just noticed the Tiverton to Castle Cary part of my ticket is an open return Sent from my X5pro using proboards You've just brought back many happy memories for me BrenD ... by mentioning Castle Cary. In a previous life I used to deliver dairy products around the South West, and CC was a regular drop. I used to make it for lunch there, at The George, which was a customer and a lovely couple who ran it... omelette and chips and a pint, on 'the house'... set me up for the rest of the day. And I regularly used to race to the station from Glastonbury or Street to get the early-morning train up to London when I was doing exciting things in the printing world in the very early 80s. 35 sodding years ago...

I'll post here rather than dig out your other thread. In case you hadn't spotted it, the TPD is suddenly of immense concern to UK retailers (it's like they've only just noticed it!) so any sense of how the Chinese manufacturers and distributors are thinking about dealing with the regulations will be very gratefully appreciated, I'm sure. My guess? ...................... business as usual ............... and the UK retailers have a lot to answer for, their silence (mostly) is a major reason why the petitions have been disappointing in numbers. It should have been plastered all over their websites and B and M windows for months. It`s their livelihood after all. The number of vapers who are also Vaping Forum or FB group members is probably very small, how would the others know anything about the TPD ? Perhaps I should have made my comment more clear - it was intended primarily as a direct request to digicig to keep his ears open while he's visiting Shenzhen. I have little sympathy for the majority of retailers who've ignored the TPD until now but it's too late for recriminations. I wouldn't be surprised if - once the regulations and in particular, the atomiser emissions test requirements are finally apparent - a couple of the Chinese manufacturers decide to put a few tiny atomisers through the process. Hence my interest in any tidbits of information...

I'd thought someone elsewhere (UKV / Reddit / Twatter) said they'd spotted what looked like a refillable tank in one of the photos but haven't been able to find the comment. Given Michael Mosley's previous tv examination of vaping where he met Peter Hajek and covered some of his work, I'd be very surprised if they were using just e-cigs for this programme.
