Hi everyone! Please can you help me? I have purchased a Riva 510 starter set and was quite happy vaping. 4 days later the battery blue light started flashing when pressed with the atomiser attached (blue light fine with nothing attached) thought it was the battery needed charging, so plugged it in to charge it even though had a green light straight away. 8 hours later no difference - same problem with other battery. Contacted supplier they said it was the atomiser so sent 2 new ones but they flashed as well. Complained again and they sent me another starter kit, same problem as before after 4 days. I have cleaned the batteries using a cotton bud but no difference. > What am I doing wrong? am I holding the button in too long because I like to take two drags to get a better hit. I am so disillusioned by it all and have been smoking even more because of the stress of it all. I kept thinking I have bought my last packet of analogues after 35 years. I just don't know what to do - send everything back and ask for a refund and try elsewhere (but am so worried I am going to have problems again) or just stay on analogues. Please help me am in tears here.

Also, did you get a new charger with the replacement kit and not use the first one?

Hello & welcome Trying Sorry to hear you have had so much bad luck so far I had a similar thing happen to 1 Riva battery, but I think that was due to me using an LR dual coil cartomiser on it

As Hifi hinted, if you over tighten the atomizer it will bugga them so to speak, your batteries sound like they are charging ok and its very unlikely that 4 of them would cease to function. Do you have another atomizer that you could try? Just screw it in till it starts to meet resistance then stop. Just to be sure, if you are using the old charger then as Jason suggested try the new one that would have come with the new kit. Good luck.

Hi Trying, I always make a point of not screwing anything too tight? Not had any problems with my Riva (touch wood) I'm pretty new to vaping too so the others on the forum will have better advice than me. Hope you get it sorted soon

Hi Trying. Sorry to hear you're having problems with the Riva; I've had many and have only had to return one battery as faulty (didn't work at all from the outset). From what you describe, it sounds to be a charger problem. You aren''t using the original charger are you? You do say you had a replacement kit so I would presume you used the new charger also. To date I've had no problem with any of the Riva-style chargers so perhaps you really are 'that unlucky.'

Hi there everyone I have calmed down a bit from this morning - was so upset. Thank you kind people for your suggestions. No I have tried screwing the atomisers tight and looser. Have 2 chargers - tried both so I don't know whether it's the batteries or not (all 3 of them!). I'm on the 2nd battery of the 2nd kit so waiting for that one to fail so will send them all back but I'm embarrassed because I have spoken to them on the phone so many times and they will think I'm stupid or pulling a fast one. :-[Not sure if I will reorder another kit elsewhere - so disappointed with it all. It is so expensive this vaping business!! Good luck other newbies - you have no excuse to give up vaping!!

I wouldn't say it's expensive, I presume you've only paid out for the 1 kit and that your supplier sent the second one free of charge.
You say you like to take two drags. How long roughly have you been keeping the button pressed in for?
I've just took one long drag, which took about 5-6 seconds. If your holding it in for a lot longer it may be over heating the atomiser.
Whereabouts are you in the country? There may be a vaper/vendor close by who could check the atomisers.

Hi thanks for replying.
I suppose I'm holding the button for the same length of time as you but I think my lungs are so bad that I cannot take deep breaths!! But the suppliers did send 2 new atomisers that I just attached and the blue light was flashing.
The expensive bit is that I ordered a kit, waited 2 weeks and it never arrived so they sent another one out and then the original turned up saturday which I posted back to them, now I will probably have two more kits to send back!
I'm in Essex and no jokes I'm originally from London!!
