Totally agree with that I just gotta VTR, it feels twice the weight of the MVP it replaced . It would cause some serious damage in an angry persons hands I got one of those too, a vtr, but a frying pan is bigger so more of a threat Nowt beats a long regulated mod like an 18650 SVD that's packed with electronics (actually density is really low for the electronics bit) and a Expromizer with an all-steel tank.

Yesterdays stats should have been higher - mea culpa. I've thirty or so to enter from a local vape shop (picked up Saturday) and will try and enter some today (but we are packing to visit daughter at Uni in Wales for a few days) so not sure how many I'll manage though.... I'll feed counts to Slim.

Well, I received mine on Saturday. Not quite on par with the fixed FT one - the 510 connector threading is poor, I think, leading to a nasty wobble and risk of cross threading (so I will not be using it on a copper mech mod). Other than that, and a little machining gunk beneath one of the posts, it's good.

Woot... More from our Celtic nation. Welcome, darthvapourYou have a few Vape Shops fairly near, including an EcigPenzance, EcigWizard franchise ( link) and our very own zeldamum, who recently opened her own shop in Beacon near Camborne - no website yet but both Facebook ( link) and Twitter ( link)

djs, I think you said that very well indeed. Thank you. Perhaps, just perhaps, we should encourage advertising on the forum, rather than voice our instinctive reactions - maybe the awkwardness is down to the lack of variety in advertisements. I think I'd prefer to see adverts from companies I'm keen on, based on my experience with those companies and others will have different companies that they are keen on. After all, we have an innate curiosity around new products, even the ones we can't afford or would never dream of owning ourselves - consider the evangelical nature of our hobby: I have absolutely no interest in cig-a-likes and my personal view is "why on earth, if I'm moving away from / giving up smoking, would I want something that looks like a cigarette" and it's best not get me started on the designer chic stuff. However, I, when talking to people, have come to realise that some will want designer chic, some will want the convenience and familiarity of the shape, and some will even want the tarnished orange of the filter with the white tobacco paper look. And I have no idea what to recommend because I am so far removed - in this instance, the Apollo adverts are useful and I might even mention them in conversation to those who I think would like to take that path. After all, we are all about diversity and choice... And mechanical mods, RBA/RDA's, replacing cotton every couple of tanks... it's not for everybody. So, djs, I think you're spot on. This thread has been useful to me: I've learnt quite a lot both here and through spinning off out of curiosity to look at some of the business models in play. Learning is always good.

If it was like this, we'd have got some of big brands all over AAEC months/years ago surely? I still think somebody at Apollo knows they are "on" here and has no concept of just how incongruous that is. Should someone come on here and say "I bought from this company....and...." then, unless I get moderated/banned, I'll be quite vocal in my comments about the prices and the fake price reductions. Not so sure - the relevance of vaping has come to the fore relatively recently - so it's likely that the market segment is only now deemed significant enough to have it's own {category / grouping / not sure of the descriptive}. Or that Apollo et al have only recently invested in the advertising group which is linked to Proboards. Saying all that, this is the Create a Campaign link within Proboards and looking at the targeting, it does look forum or category specific (and looking at this link, it appears that the categories are very broad), thus it is likely that they are targeting this forum, and may well be monitoring, which is good, I think, for they will potentially also be able to gauge customer feedback / preferences and other market data. Which is not to say they will start promoting Mixology and RBA's - for there's no significant repeat business with those like there is with high margin liquid and repeat sales through clearos, replacement heads, etc.. Whether the company is good or not is moot - If there is a problem is one of inferred recommendation and that adverts are an annoyance to some forum users.

I think the way these adverts work is that the advertiser will buy keywords from the "advertising agency"(AdWords, etc...). If I was VIP or Apollo, I would buy "ecigs, tobacco, cigarette"and the ilk. This forum will figure prominently in the use of these words (that metadata will be what ProBoards will be selling) thus we get these adverts served (and the advertising agent, AdWords or similar and Proboards get cash for page views and click throughs). It is as it is.
No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

That 'emetal' that SQ use on the genuine Squape, what's the replacement like on the clone? It doesn't have any brass or other nasty shit under it does it? (Don't go scraping your Squape to find out, ooer missus) The original FT base had nasty soft steel screws, but this is something one has to deal with at times). - FT replacement base was fine and steel of a reasonable mix. The tank was certainly a good steel (304 or better). Still awaiting my Focalecig Squape (arrived in the UK on the 18th...) I reckons it will be okay.

Ah - snake oil, the wonderful snake oil. Be aware that this juice more than any other changes characteristics as it ages. To work out constituent flavours you will need to try it repeatedly over time (with breaks in between - recommend at least a week over a period of about three months)... It's the breaks in-between that I find so hard I suspect that the only way to get close to the constituents is to consider steeping time of individual flavours and compare Through an order mishap, Simon once sent me a large bottle - an act of kindness I'll not forget. I've sent more samples over the last six or so months to friends as far away as Melbourne than I care to count - much more than Simon gave me - roughly two thirds really like it and three (perhaps more) are now vaping it on a daily basis (proof of karma, perhaps). Saying that, I've had strong negative reactions from some. I tend to buy it in 100ml bottles and syphon off perhaps 20ml to set aside to steep (sorry - I can't send any - splurged the remainder). I went off it for about three weeks in January but rekindled the affair afterwards. Not sure if the recipe has changed a little though. I pick up aniseed, winter berries (blackberries), raspberry, I think cherry (responsible perhaps for the detergent remarks by some) and citrus. As it steeps it looses it's sharpness (zing?) and becomes ever so slightly cloying and takes on a thickness in the vapour (I want to say oily but not in a way that should raise alarm bells - no idea what's going on there). Others pick up hints of liquorice and I can see where you're coming from when you mention eucalyptus. It will be interesting to see what others think.

This is how I done my wick first time I got it & it worked, so haven't tried any variations to it Indeed. Although I think I shall try your way as well. Now I have a consistent way of building it (well, twice isn't a sample) it will be good to find a second... and to determine which build works best for me (the eternal hunt for the perfect vape).... One thing I've noted - they don't half drink the juice... which might be why the flavour is so very good.
