My thoughts: you could get yourself a couple of Doggy style clones and a bunch of spare tanks for that kind of money, and be a lot happier.

Maybe it's just me but I find plain old nail scissors (~£2 from Wilko or other places) do the job. When they get knackered, I get another pair. It just doesn't seem a saving worth making to get them on a slow boat from China.
Nail clippers (also cheap) are used to trim close to terminal posts. Thicker stuff can be cut with wire clippers.
Am I missing something?

Yeah, well. The inside of most modern cars looks like something out of the Kennedy Space Centre. The surround sound hifi, the sat nav, the trip computer and cruise control, many many dials, n-dimensional seat controls and mirror controls. None of that is a 'distraction' but having a toot on an iStick is apparently attempted murder. Methinks this is the plods looking for ways to generate easy nicks to make their crime clear-up rates look a bit better. If they have nothing beter to do, perhaps we don't need quite so many of them. Props to all those who have cashed in on this and more importantly been savvy enough to spot the catch.
Sadly, I can see a lot of people, especially newbies, getting caught out by their method of trapping you into repeat sales and that will give vaping and the industry a bad name all round.

This - abandon Freindface with extreme prejudice. Immediately. Never been on it myself, but their record for harvesting personal data, performing psycholigical experiments on its user base and more recently deciding what news you are allowed to see disqualify it from polite discussion.
This applies to social situations (for the most part), not for commercial transactions.
Yep, absolutely. Though expecting the vendors site to not censor you is a bit hopeful. Thankfully, there are non-commercial fora (like AAEC) where you can give your honest opinion to the community without getting shut out.

Lots of chinese sellers peddle their wares on Amazon (I know cause Iv'e bought stuff from them) so it's very likely the same 'brushing' technique going on I reckon. Oh yeah, I realise Amazon are mostly just another conduit for Chinese tat, just I expected them to take a bit more responsibility for sorting it out. Then again it's Amazon - one of the many reasons I don't give them my business any more.

Wow, I'm glad I found this thread, I've had several unsolicited parcels from various places: Amazon (screen protector for iPad I don't own), Wish (junk jewellery)and one anonymous box (with a shower rail init). WTF. Have checked with my CC card company and no debit to my name (that they can see), but it is still most annoying to be acruing yet more future landfill. Also I haven't ordered from Amazon in many years and don't have an account with them at my current e-mail address. When I got in touch they said "can't help you mate, you don't have an account". Grrrr. Worse, they have my mum's address (I had one or two things sent there whilst staying with her last year) and stuff is also turning up there. Brushing explains the stuff from China, but Amazon?
Mostly it is annoying, with the nagging feeling that sooner or later I'll find out my CC has been charged.
Amazon's indifference is extremely worrying.

Apparently you have to be careful clipping your wire ends or you can easily split the cap -as happened to this reviewer:

Sounds like exactly the behaviour I saw with my iStick when it wasn't charging properly. It would 'pretend' to charge, but run back to empty straight away. Fixed by cleaning out the usb socket ( link).

Enjoy. Hope you remembered to order wick and wire while you were there and a coiling rod... FYI I use 30 AWG kanthal on a 2.5mm rod, that gives me around 1.8 ohms resistance - perfick for my MTL tastes. Yes I did, some 28 and 30 AWG 316L, coiling rod and some new shiny ceramic tweezers. I also had a good read through this forum. link Which I found to have the best info on Doggy TC and SS 316L I am now excitedly awaiting Vape Mail for the first time in over 2 years. When it all comes in and I'm up and running I'll post back here with results. Good oh. There's a lot of love for the doggy clones in that thread I have to say I like my SXK one a lot, even though it's bottom fill and I have to wedge something in the air slot to get it open. It's far easier to build than a KF3 mini and much easier to use than my KF monster mini (though not nearly as cheap). It's ust a very forgiving, easy to build and leak free tank with good flavour. If only there were an Ultem cap for it, it could be armageddon proof. Hope you enjoy yours.

So I had a poke around in there with a toothpick, then a sewing needle (turn it off first, if you can remove the base plate so you can see easier). Didn't get much out in the way of fluff, but the interstitial toothbrush got out a lot of black gunk, so I'm assuming it was just mucky from years of living in pockets and maybe a bit of juice ingress. Peering inside with a torch and magnifying glass, it looks clean now and the contacts look almost shiny. Still happy. The iStick is such a perfect walking about mod to have in your arsenal.

...and here we are, two hours later with one fully charged, fully functional iStick 20W!!! Etc. Thanks kingofswords for the suggestion. I'm going to follow the tutorial I linked to and clean it out good and proper. Soooo glad I didn't just toss it in the bin (as if a tightwad like me ever would)
