Hello poppet I'm new too and learning all the stuff there is to get to grips with about vaping so you're not alone! The folks here are really great and very patient with us newbies and there's lots of threads and info about it all on these forums. Please don't worry about asking basic questions - chances are that you'll be asking something someone else needs to know the answer to aswell, but they're too shy to ask! *blush* All the best MissT

Hahahaha! OMG this so made me laugh! Thank you, I needed that! On topic, ahem, I'm glad you posted this Capt' : for some reason I'm having awful trouble cleaning my clearomizers efficiently too. Looks like an ultrasonic cleaner might be the way to go for me aswell, as so far, no matter what I do I get leaking or air bubbles or burning or SOMETHING going wrong after I've cleaned I don't know what I'm doing wrong - just putting it down to being a noob and needing practice at all this but it's so frustrating! I ended up with a definite pout last night after things went wrong and I gave up again. *sigh* Wishing you luck!

Hi Smity As it happens I've been looking into shops local to me in Edinburgh recently and found Emporium Vapour which has two shops here, one in Falkirk - and one in Glasgow. I found this review of the shop at the Forge shopping centre on you tube: (For some reason you have to verify your age before you can view this vid!?!) I also went to the branch in Leith yesterday and wrote this little review on the charms they sell: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/38510/emporium-vapour-ecig-charms?page=1&scrollTo=667961The only other shop I've visited so far is Vaporized on Leith Walk here in Ed, which would only be any good for you if you didn't mind the journey: vaporized.co.ukThat's as much as I know so far, as far as bricks and mortar shops go, but as many of the lovely peeps on here will tell you, both gear and juice is cheaper bought online. For juice, there's an abundance of praise here for these guys: www.joosejuice.co.uk I am waiting patiently (not) for a little collection of juices I've bought from them to steep before I try them, but if they vape anything like how they smell atm they're going to be as delicious as everyone says! Hope that helps MissT

Just wanted to write a line about these here.
Popped over to check out the Leith shop for the first time today and was really impressed by the range and quality of these wee trinkets. There's a very talented young lady there (forgot to ask her name! gah!) who makes some, and another who supplies some to the shop, who delivers a new batch every Friday. Every one is different and they're made with beads, semi precious stones and all manner of charms that dangle from your battery.
They come in a lovely little gift bag and are very reasonably priced. Would be great as a gift. I got two for myself and I'm really pleased with them. One has a blue speckled stone in a 6 sided pyramid shape with silver metal turtle, starfish and seashell charms. The other is a circle of tiny rainbow coloured beads with a silver metal tree charm hanging at it's centre and a little silver bird hanging from the bottom of the bead circle. They really are lovely!
I would post some pics if my camera was working! They said there will be some pics on their website coming soon.
I couldn't get the other stuff I wanted from the shop today, but found the staff to be really helpful and the shop welcoming and friendly. Will definitely be going back
If ever my camera sorts itself out I will post pics of my lovely two charms.
Hope someone finds this useful
MissT
PS Nearly forgot - they do lovely beaded lanyards aswell. Will be looking into these too at a later date
(Oh and btw, I have nothing to do with the shop! Just went there for first time today!)

Ohh that does sound like good advice kiwi. I have dermatitis and it's felt like it was getting worse the last week or so - wonder if the high PG might have something to do with that too? Definitely worth a shot at some 50/50 juice I think! Thanks so much for your help

Oooh, so many welcomes! Thank you very much all Sorry I wasn't able to reply sooner. Thank you for the congrats on abstaining from the stinkies for a day aswell, although it may have been a little premature lol I chugged along quite nicely to begin with, but pretty soon developed what I now know to be vaper's tongue. By the time I read about what was going on and what to try to sort it, I'd already smoked a fair few ciggies, so back to square one there. I'm almost out of my favorite Dekang Mocha juice and don't yet have any more. I did buy an assortment of 6 lucky dip juices online at Vaporized, but I think a lot of them may be the ones that can crack the tanks I have so I haven't tried any yet. I also realised that the PG content may be too high for me, (they're all 80% PG 20% VG) as I'm coughing a lot when I first start vaping the mocha- sneezing too but I don't mind that so much lol. It's odd because smoking doesn't make me cough. It's the same sensation I got when I tried the NRT inhalator a year or two ago (one toke and I was coughing like crazy! Most embarrassing!) so I thought it was the nicotine content was too high. Now having read a bit more it seems more likely that the PG needs to be lower, not the nicotine. I intend to try varying both just to see what difference it makes. Waiting for joosejuice to come back from their holiday to browse through what they have, thanks for that suggestion lairey I've not done very well over the last few days. When I tasted that burnt kinda taste I'd read about I thought it was time to clean or change something and have been trying to find out what to do, but I can't find very much info about the tanks I have. Been getting frustrated - and more confused lol Maybe you guys could shed some light? Like... what's the difference between a 'coil' and a 'head'? And which bits do you soak in hot water? I screwed off the black mouthpiece bit and found the post bit in the middle with the long wicks hanging down from it, took that out and swapped it for the one in the other tank, just so I could get vaping again and it appeared to work ok I think. But now I'm not sure what to do with the old bit. I pulled the wick part out a lil bit and it looks black. Is that actually burnt, or just gunked up? Can it be cleaned or do I need a new one now? And do you replace the wick itself or is it the whole post bit that needs replacing? Could anyone post a link to the type I need please? Oh, and the other thing I'm getting confused about is ohms and resistance. I don't have the first clue about any of that and it's making understanding the whole thing even more confusing. To try and counter all this confusion - and also to start taking the advice I see you guys posting elsewhere about getting back ups and replacements - I'm looking to get some more stuff. I've been reading about what you often suggest to others asking for advice and found this; myepack.co.uk/kits/mini-protank-2-kit.html It says it has ego threading on the tank so I'm guessing it will go with what I already have? The tank is smaller capacity to the Kanga T2, doesn't have the measurements on it and doesn't come in pretty colours but it does seem more popular with people and might be easier to get spare parts for without going mental! Plus it's on offer right now at myepack so seems like it might be good value? What do you think? Another type of tank you guys seem to recommend a lot is this one : myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/iclear-16-dual-coil-clearmiser.html (I think!) but I'm not sure if it will go with the batteries I have. I've no clue about the dual coil bit either - is the liquid heated up at the bottom or the top? Both of these are the glass tank sort (is that right?) so I wouldn't have to worry about cracking anything? To be honest, I've read so much in the last couple of days all the info is starting to get mixed up in my head and I'm not sure if I've learned anything at all! lol I will have to do something soon tho as I'm trying to make my last lil bit of mocha last and getting cranky in the process! lol Thank you for all the help you give guys, I really appreciate having somewhere to ask all this stuff! Take care MissT

Hello All,
Wanting to say hi and introduce myself, and ask a few questions along the way if I may?
I'm new to vaping, having just got my first set up from a local shop a few days ago. I'm reading up about it all slowly, and practicing techniques and whatnot, but I'm not ready to give up tobacco just yet. I usually smoke between 7-10 skinny roll ups a day, although I've found if I vape aswell, that can easily go down to at least half. In fact, on the third day after I got my kit, I didn't smoke any roll ups at all, much to my surprise, and didn't miss it at all!
I have hit a few little snags tho. The shop where I bought my kit is called Vaporized. I went along there because a lot of folks online said it was a great shop for e cigs and the staff were friendly and would take the time to talk you through stuff etc. The guy that served me was indeed really helpful, but I didn't feel entirely comfortable in the shop itself. I'm 52, disabled, and have a bit of a stutter, and felt somewhat out of place in a head shop surrounded by young guys in their teens and 20s listening to thrash metal and contemplating the draw on the latest bong in the window.
God that sounds discriminatory of me doesn't it? :/ I hasten to add there's nothing wrong with all that at all! It's just that I feel a little shy about going back, even though the guy who served me really encouraged me to!
Anyway, I'm hoping that you guys might be able to help me instead as the needs arise?
I spent about £45 on a (somewhat customised for my particular needs) starter kit, which included 2 batteries, 2 clearomisers a usb plug and charger thing, 2x 10ml e juice and a battery safe charging bag. The juice I've been vaping so far is their dekang mocha flavour, 80pg/20vg 11mg nicotine, which I tried in the shop - my first ever experience of vaping and OMG it was amazing!!!
I think (after some online research) that the clearomisers I have are the Kanger T2 2.4ml. The batteries appear to be the ego 1100mah, but I'm getting a little confused when reading about kit because there seems to be so many different names for things.
Maybe that's enough to write for now, just want to say hello first, then maybe ask some specifics!
Thank you for reading,
MissT
