Actually, that does bring up a question I have tho - you get all these warnings on the bottles about not getting ejuice on your skin and that it's really toxic and all that, but then you see anyone doing an ecig 'how to' youtube vid and nobody's wearing gloves! Their fingers are covered in it! What's that all about? Do you use gloves when you're mucking about with ejuice @johanino ? I didn't bother yesterday but I will in future I think

Ahh I see! My bad - for me the depression and anxiety go hand in hand and always have, so I forget they can be separate things aswell. You're most probably right tho about depression being a common side effect to stopping. You'd never guess it from the peeps here tho! I think you may be onto something there, about the relationship you have to whatever you're addicted to making a difference. I'm hoping against hope that my anxiety doesn't get too bad again as a result of stopping as it can make me really quite ill. That's why I'm taking it so slow. So glad you're having a better day anyway! Btw, what's WTA liquid? ???

Thanks @johanino I lost count of the number of times I washed my hands yesterday lol Don't even know if I found it all! Luckily, I have no kids or pets to worry about and as I haven't croaked yet I think I got away with it!

@alopezg1 Hi there I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your candour about the difficulties you're experiencing. I know all about anxiety and depression, I've been a sufferer for years and I know full well how easy it can be for stuff to get on top of you. It's hard enough to give up smoking for most folk, but add difficulties such as these into the mix and it can turn into a real nightmare. I see you're looking for practical solutions to your difficulties with the actual vaping, and I'll leave others who are much better qualified and experienced on here to advise you there. I've found that the people here really do know what they're talking about and can offer excellent guidance with such things so you've come to the right place for that! So firstly, kudos for seeking that help! I have undying admiration for anyone who's actually given up analogues and my heart always goes out to those who are trying and not quite cracked it yet. I guess fall into the latter category too. IMO it's perfectly natural, especially for people with these illnesses, to feel a bit sorry for ourselves at times and get down about it all. We can tend to beat ourselves up over things that have a bit of a learning curve or that we need practice at if they don't go right for us. When that happens to me, what I try to do is take a wee step back take a deep breath, and just take the pressure off myself if I can. If I'm frustrated and fed up that I can't seem to manage the things others are achieving, well... I just let myself feel that way, accept that today's not the day it's gonna happen for me, have a bit of a grump, and leave it be. Because tomorrow's another day. Next week might be different. Nothing ever lasts forever, bad times included and we're always in a state of flux. I think sometimes we tend to expect too much of ourselves too quickly. I get soooo impatient when I can't get things right straight away, let alone something that can take a while to get the hang of - or indeed something that is like a journey, as this seems to be, that has steps and different challenges to negotiate along the way. We can forget to look back and see how far we've already come. So with all that in mind, well done you, for having gone without the cigs you already have! Well done for the attempts! Well done for having the will to give it a go so many times and for keeping trying when you've fallen short of where you want to eventually be. Well done for weathering those stumbles! That takes guts! Take heart from that. Give yourself a break and a bit of love. It's tough to do what you're trying to do. Softly softly catchey monkey. All the best, MissT

Thanks DiscoDes I don't think I've done any damage with my dry burning - that was me getting confused with how you clean other things I'm not sure it wasn't water, no! I am sure of very little when it comes to this vaping malarkey! lol The flavour was a fruit mix - I tried some other fruity flavours once I'd sussed out the blowing through the thing to get the water/juice out. All seemed really intense! Almost like eating it - I can still taste it now. I got juice everywhere. Couldn't get the juice from the little sample bottle into the drip tip accurately most of the time. The syringe I was using wasn't small enough. Ah well, we live and learn eh? Given up for now, will have another go when I'm feeling brave and don't mind having to clean the kitchen again lol

So I went along to the dentist yesterday, and she said, as far as the BMA was concerned, they couldn't comment because there hasn't been time to do trials about long term effects of ecigs. So as far as she was concerned, 'officially' she couldn't say anything about it. But 'unofficially' she said from what she could see, it was obviously better than smoking, so go for it!! And that was nice to hear She also clarified that it's the tar that does the damage rather than the nicotine, and as you guys have said, that the nic will lower the blood flow to gums, so should be avoided in case of surgery needed. (Good suggestion Clivia to vape 0% juice at those times ) I said I'd bring my kit in for her to see next visit, she was curious what it looked like and how it worked We had quite a good convo about it all between us - (2 dentists and a nurse this time) and I was telling them about all the people here who'd shared their dental experiences and how many had said their teeth and gums had improved. It was cool Thanks so much every one for commenting, long may our 'pearly whites' shine!! MissT

My dentist said that it didn't matter, some people were just prone to gum disease and some weren't and I have to say the evidence is out there. A couple I know, the wife smokes the most and eats all the sugary stuff and hardly brushes her teeth yet hers are perfect, no gum disease and hardly any fillings. He on the other hand doesn't eat much sugar, hardly smokes at all, brushes thoroughly two or three times a day and yet needs a scale every few months. Go figure.
I know enjay! My teeth get so much abuse from me and have done for years and years, but all I've ever suffered from was the gum disease, and for most of my life I never even knew I did! I do have some gaps where I lost a couple but no one could ever tell me exactly why I lost them - they were just too small and fell out as far as I could see.
Never seemed fair to me that some peeps do everything right and suffer all sorts when I've got away with a bit of inconvenience.

My teeth have improved greatly as well, but the one important thing to remember is that nicotine DOES decrease blood supply in the mouth. I recently had 2 wisdom teeth removed and was advised to keep vaping to a minimum for a few days. I researched and this is based on scientific fact rather than the usual nonsense. Wounds in the mouth will heal faster if you aren't inhaling nicotine. Its still far and away better than smoking however
Yeah good point dragon, I had heard that too. My dentist also concurs. (Lovely smile, that, hehehe)

I should have said that was about a year ago, maybe she had not been exposed to so much neg propaganda then. My Dr sent me a letter about something to do with smoking I forget what exactly about a month ago. So I rang the sugary and told the receptionist (whoever answered the phone) that I was no longer a smoker and had not been for over 18 months. I pointed out that this is because I had switched to eCigs and she was pleased also. I also told them that when I went to their smoking clinic thing (about 3.5 years ago) I found it next to useless as they would only supply one brand of 16 hour patches that did not suite me. I did use other 24 hour patches at that time to stop for 5 months. The ones they offered didn't stay stuck on for me for very long and caused more irritation than the ones I used, and I have irregular sleeping patterns so need 24 hour patches. More evidence, as if we needed it, that one size does not fit all when it comes to nicotine delivery systems! Nice to hear the general pleasedness (ok that isn't a real word but you know what I mean lol) circulating when peeps make the switch from analogues. Lets hope the trend continues.

Ok so I'm playing with my new 306 dripping atty and I've got a juice on it that tastes lovely but the throat hit is soooo strong I can't handle it at all. I want to get the juice off without vaping any more of it. I've run it under the tap and been pulsing the coil for ages but it's still giving off loads of vapour. What should I do?

Awesome stuff, thank you! Gives me hope that my gums can improve as I seem to comfy with around 12mg aswell. Yeah I'm familiar with the wee brushes - they're great, but they make my gums sore But that's because I don't use them enough
