Hi I've just received a pair of Samsung 25r batteries I ordered from a vendor on Amazon, they've both come in boxes branded with XTAR. Is there any way to verify if these batteries are genuine or not?
Cheers Chris

IIRC ss has a lot lower TCR and would probably only work on a DNA200, The next FW for the DNA200 will allow TCR down to 0.001 so it could use anything that has a significant change in resistance with temperature, I have even seen people discussing using gold. I've seen people discuss using SS with the sxk chips and apparently it works with the nickel purity set to around 10. I haven't tried it myself as I'm happy vaping Ti on my sxk nebula.

Don't be gutted, what's your mod, does it do Ti. Haven't got a nickel allergy but just going throw some ideas in here, have you tried cleaning the nickel, IPA, ultrasonic cleaner, heating it, to a glow if you have to? I have a Sigelei 75w at the moment and a SXK Flask but it's a piece of crap, I had thought about titanium but that has it's own issues as well doesn't it? I hadn't tried any of those, but I won't try dry burning or heating it, as that's when more problems can occur!, I might try going down some wire with some IPA though. Have a look at this thread regarding Ti wire www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/titanium-wire-vaping-and-safety.664753/Essentially as long as you use grade 1 wire and don't over heat it then it's fine to use. I've read of several people using Ti wire in Ni only mods and just lowering the temp by 100f or so. Might be worth a shot.

I have some MB Old Fashioned and that tastes like soapy perfume. Not a nice vape at all!

Cheers csmith10 i will bookmark that for an evenings browse. As for the usb charging , no not yet, ive been exchanging the battery and charging outside so far. Yeah that's what I've been doing, not 100% sure I trust the on board charging but those screws are a bit of a pain as well!

Its a very tidy lil mod isnt it csmith10? btw where do you find a guide to using the nickel purity setting? and how can it be used to allow the use of other wires?? my very limited understanding of resistance/temp relationship for any given metal is a different coeeficient value from the next metal, while a purity setting will be for 'fine tuning' around the coeficient mapping?? and wont shift the curve/lookup to map a different metal?? Only reference i have found is in the manual which indicates N1200 should have a purity setting of 70-75 ??? beyond that im blind.. Set side a few hours and troll though this thread lol www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/threads/tc-beyond-ni200-nickel-purity-dicodes-ti-ss-resistherm-nife30-coefficient-of-resistance.676506/The OP has a few mods with the SXK chip and seems to know what he's talking about. As a side note some people have been using the DNA40 and other devices with Ti wire and just off setting the temp by about -100f. Have you tried the micro USB port for charging yet?

After a weekend of TC vaping ive used the SXK nebula a lot more than the snow wolf, The Snow wolf is more weighty in the hand and can late at night start to slip from a less than tight grip, its not just the extra battery adding to the weight but the solid SS case of the snow wolf too. While i cant fault the snow wolfs features or operation i find myself vaping the sxk more frequently as its much lighter in the hand and easier to keep hold of when getting drowsy at night.. so have decided to offer the Snow wolf up for sale for £60 inc PNP to Uk addresses while its stil in its as new condition.. I'm loving my nebula as well!

If you're struggling with wrapping/wicking nickel you can use the nebula's nickel purity setting to run titanium wire. Ti is much more like kathal just don't dry burn or over heat it. I'm using a 26g 6 wrap single coil in my subtank which is reading .23 ohms on my nebula but which is closer to .3 in reality.

Hey, did your nebula turn up? Pick mine up at the post office this evening, threw a 6 warp 26g titanium coil in a subtank mini. The resistance is reading low but set the NP to 45, temp to 235c and 37 watts so far it's vaping like a goodun. I did a cotton burn test which it passed no problem. The one issue I've had is the fire button has stuck a couple of times which is a bit irritating. turned up today not really had much time with it but its also reading slightly low a 0.15 kanger occ coil in the subtank reads @1.1.. ive tried it with 240c max set and 20w seems good so far.. cheers.. Very comfy in the hand, a lil tall and i too had a sticky power button when 5x clicking hopefully that will wear in and not get worse.. Yeah I'm hoping my button wears in a bit, I've noticed if you push it in and up slightly it doesn't stick. I don't mind the height but then I've always been a fan of tube mods even when I went over to boxes. I think the NP setting already compensates for the low resistance reading as when I cheated the board into reading the resistance correctly it would limit the temp properly.

I should probably say they don't work that well for mouth to lung when compared to something specifically designed for that style of vaping. I would have agreed but I've come to the conclusion I just don't like MTL anymore. My better half used a nautilus before Subtanks, the former are now collecting dust. Both me and Mrs Smith have moved away from MTL. I thought SWMBO would take some time to get used to direct lung, but nope she was straight on it, although she does still vape at 16w but she's happy which is the main thing.
