Can someone show a photo of how catastrophic this is? I'm amazed by the very concept of a polycarbonate item having such an instant chemical reaction. Do they literally fall to bits like op said? Intriguing Ruff I was amazed too, it started as a spiral crack from the base, I thought it was just a trick of the light until I rubbed my finger over it. That's when the tank fell to pieces. It's way at the bottom of the bin now covered in two day's worth of leftovers, otherwise I'd take a snap for you. It's a bit disconcerting TBH. If certain juices can do that to polycarbonate, what effect could they be having on the the lungs? I've ordered a new unit and a spare metal tank from Cloud9 , seems I had a snide version so the proper tanks would not fit anyway. Live and learn.

A Vivi Nova mini to be precise, only had the thing for a week and was looking forward to trying Joose juices banana flavour today, at least I managed to get half a lungful before the tank cracked into several pieces dumping it's contents all over my keyboard, I'm not a happy bunny. I'm now without an atomiser and my keyboard smells like a bag of cheap sweets.
Can I get a replacement tank? I haven't managed to find one anywhere?

I've had one of these for years They deliver an adjustable high heat flame. I find that the pen style is much easier to use than the pistol grip blow torches. Perfect for heating coils and wire. Around the £2.50 mark on Fleabay.

Hi osdset a very warm from me too and gratz on stopping the stinkies. Great to hear what might be in the pipeline regarding your offcuts of wood, I gather you are thinking about making mods with the hint of the electronics but if the offcuts are big enough and if you have the know-how have you thought about making mod stands? Hi, Yes I've thought about stands, I might make one or two.

Yep, the sort of thing I'm thinking about. I dunno about bottom feeders though!

Hi seniorphil, Thanks for the Hackspace link, first I'd heard of them! I'll check them out, might even join. Knew you 2 would get on when I read OP! osdset .. sunny St Ratford sounds a lovely place, I once lived at the Gate of the Forest.. Funny you should say that, I'm right on the border of the Gate of the Forest, close to the Old Spotted Dog.

Back on topic (!), well done on kicking the tobacco habit, you'll get loads of support here, and more importantly advice on the best gear to buy depending on what you are looking for. What gear are you using at the moment? Thanks, I wouldn't say I've kicked the habit yet but I've tried everything from throat sprays to Champix and nothing has worked, vaping is the nearest I've got so far to the 'real thing'. I'm using a basic Ego setup at the moment but I've discovered that the battery hasn't got enough oomph for my level of use and 11 mg nicotine content juice isn't hitting the spot. What I finally end up using will be dictated largely by portability, I like a lot of the mechanical mods but I can't see myself strutting around with a stainless steel cosh in my back pocket. However aesthetics play a big part for me, I won't own or use anything that looks tacky. I really like the look of those stainless Ego bases where the battery and atty sit side by side, but battery capacity becomes an issue again. I'll definitely be making a lot of my own kit, I've worked on electric guitars for many years and I also repair valve amplifiers so the electronics side of vaping technology is straightforward as far as I'm concerned. Winding atomiser coils isn't so different from winding guitar pickup coils, there's just a few thousand less turns to worry about!

osdset - hi and from me too! A colleague of mine has recently taken to the lute (he's a classical guitarist), and not teaches using it in primary schools! Would be great to think that we may be creating a whole new generation of lutenists here in Cornwall I too look forward to seeing what wonderful creations come from your offcuts, but in the meantine, if you have any questions, please ask away; there is no such thing as a silly question, we've all been where you are and can help you along Hi, I studied modern fretted instruments (Guitar) at the old London Guildhall University, on the sixth floor of our building were the early fretted mob (Lute, Viola da Gamba etc). A strange bunch, often wandering about muttering that they had lost a rib or two.

Greetings! I'm new to vaping but have embraced it quite enthusiastically due to my inability to pack up a 35 year tobacco habit. I'm a Luthier (Guitar maker/repairer) by trade and I just happen to have bin loads of exotic timber offcuts that are too small to be of practical use, well at least that's what I thought until I saw some of the mods on the net. I'm also fairly nifty with electronics and a soldering iron. You just know what's gonna happen next
