Yh, quite a silly mistake really, seeing as the part number starts 'ICR'.
LG HE4s would be good too. I opted for the 25Rs as they have a slightly lower IR, so slightly better performance for the full 100 Watts - if you want to go that far.

BT are not my favourites either. Took 2weeks for the first Engineer to call, then another 4 days to trace the fault to the cable between the box and my house. I mean come on, there's only 8 wires in the cable and only 2 of them are used for a single line. How hard is it to swap to another pair at both ends and retest. I've still got 5 months of the contract to go. Was thinking of leaving, but BT own all the lines round here and lease to the likes of TalkTalk and that. I'd still have to put up with the same engineers if there's another fault. Raffles, you have my sympathy.

It'll work, but there are other, safer batteries that would work better. I'd personally recommend buy a couple of 25Rs if I had the sig. Mistakes happen - it's definitely an ICR. Can be blo**y frightening!! Happening less and less since the advent of the modern PSU (no voltage selector). I made a lot of money from peeps flicking the switch - 'My mate told me it would make it more powerful!!' As for battery bro I have to laugh at myself sometimes. When I see a statement such as 'Prices Hidden- Please Create an account' I take it that's what they actually mean. Great to see a vendor having VTC5s on site, whilst pushing their own blog that declares all VTC5s are fake.

sorry to butt in, ive been looking for a lookup guide on wire gauge/length number of coils to provide Xohm resistance in advance of my RTA's arrival.. any pointers will be appreciated.. tia I used to use www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp. I leaned a few decent coils using that so I hardly ever use it any more.

The only place I've bought the chargers from is AJC Trading Q. Their website is nitecore.co.uk, so that's an obvious clue? If you email Nitecore USA they'll return a list of 'authorised' sellers in the UK. These sellers would then tell you which web stores, or high street shops in your area they supply (admittedly not 100%, they're not infallible) The thing is it's human nature to go for the better deal, which isn't always the best. Unfortnately this attitude just feeds the fakers. I'm not going to crusade on this matter. The fact is it happens, it'll always happen, and we just have to let the dust settle and carry on.

Neither of us is giving bad advice, just two different views of the same problem - working towards the same goal. I hope members reading this absorb much of what we're both saying and make a wise decision based on that info. Of course they could just treat us as a couple of doddering old fools having a rant, reading back that is the way it's beginning to appear

I'm worried for the peeps who don't spot a 'good' fake robby. I don't have a problem - Nitecore have that for me. This one fake has been proven dangerous. That doesn't make the rest of them safe.

That`s not the point is it Ripshod? if the spelling is wrong, if any of the contact metals are wrong, if the Caps arent Nitecore. If any one of those dont match up with what you have, then it is a FAKE and unsafe and shouldn`t be used. This is about vaper`s safety, isn`t it? It`s a whole lot better than no information at all isn`t ? Yet you could buy a fake built from the right materials, with fake nitecore wrappers on the caps, and the correct spelling on the box. It could weigh the same, within 0.1 Gramme. It could have the correct lead, with the correct plug. The point is - it's still a fake! Any non-magnetic metal would pass the magnet test for the slide and pos pin. How do we KNOW a genuine? We can't. Only Nitecore can. The only way to protect ourselves from fakes? Buy from an authorised dealer. Stop buying from FT or ebay. I could be judgemental and say 'You get what you pay for!!' and leave everyone to it, but I'm not. I'm here, now, looking for a way for us all to be 100% safe.

It`s dated 2014-10-30. It wont be Nitecore that will be checking them. It will be punters like you or me. The pos contact is plated copper, the slide slot is plated copper, the sliding contact is steel. And the fakers always use the wrong materials? The same as they all make the same spelling mistake?

That is only for the i4 and useless for the D4. Not according to Nitecore, see my quote from their email earlier, (received today) the board may be different but you're looking for Nitecore branded caps. We cant get any more official than what Nitecore themselves say, yes I know you can re-wrap caps but I seriously doubt that the cloners would go that far (I hope) Read what I said earlier. It's just shrink wrap - can be faked so easily, especially with a genuine nitecore cap as a pattern.
