Thanks all I thought it would be handy to have a central point to gather signs and symptoms because they're all over the place on different forums at the moment. I've just heard two reports of stomach problems in the last two days, prolly something to do with over/under dose of nicotine or glycerine I think.

No worries, I'm glad to be able to make myself useful.
It is a pity the DoH have claimed nicotine as a health issue, I'd have liked the Office of Fair Trading or the Business Bureau to be involved but none of them will touch it because of the DoH. Pigdogs.

We've had a response to the petition. Unfortunately it was from the Department of Health and it was their standard propaganda. You can see it here, it's the last two pictures at the bottom of this page - vapersnetwork.org/node/31

Cynical but probably right Chrissie. It's a stupid argument that has no merit when it comes to restricting liberty but is very effective when making regulations by emotion. In my view, this is about supporting the pharmaceutical monopoly and wiping out competition. What they're not taking into account is the counter argument about the ineffectiveness and risks of pharm products: www.electroniccigarettereview.com/target-candy-and-fruit-flavored-cigarette-bans-are-bull/We haven't had much exploitation of the 'think of the children' argument in Europe yet but it's certainly on the way - the US are leading the way with stupid logic.

That's just ECF's analysis, the one above is the minutes from the MHRA - so the official version.

The MHRA consultation closed on Wednesday and there was a stakeholder meeting today for traders. Apparently they said it might be September before anything is decided. That's coincidentally when the FDA appeal in the US is scheduled, I'm wondering if our MHRA don't want to rock any boats before the hearing. The result of that case will have a global impact and if the UK bucks the ban trend before then it might undermine the case for banning over there. If anyone is interested, there are some responses to the MHRA on this page including good legal arguments from ecigs.co.uk and Smartsmoker.co.uk - vapersnetwork.org/node/46Well worth a read (but get a cup of tea first, some of them are a bit long).

Yeah, it's tempting to try to get some super dooper device to them but those are really for enthusiasts who know what an atomiser is and how to charge a battery. I agree that it's not a good look for an ecig to appear to mimic a cig but it seems to be what a lot of newbies want so if it gets them using it then it's a step in the right direction.
