Welcome tinypurkiss - sounds like you've made a great start with all that equipment. Hope you manage to find some juice you like - I just take a few premixed bottles and add a few drops of various flavours unless I particularly like one on its own. Enjoy the forum and congrats on giving up the ciggies

Very detailed and helpful review. My order from Vapemunki, received Saturday, is in the steeping process.

I've got 2 main mixes - the one I call my mainstay which is virginia, cappuccino and vanilla..... and my fruit cocktail, which is all different mixed fruits with a few drops of red cola. In addition to those 2, I've got what I call my Hit and Miss cocktail - it's a bottle I keep ready with RY4 (usually) plus a cocktail of various flavours depending on what takes my fancy. I don't keep any record of what is in the Hit & Miss bottle and because I keep adding bits and pieces it's never exactly the same for very long. My day always starts off with my mainstay. After that I just vape randomly between them all.

Thank you for the recommendation, their multipack samplers are a great idea, I wish more sellers would offer them. Only things that put me off using that site is 1 - they are not in the UK .... and 2 - most of their nic strengths seem to be around 11mg and I'm on lower than that now. Seems to be rather a problem buying liquids from shops too, the places I've been to have had very little, if any nicotine free juice or very low nicotine. They say the medium/high strength is much more popular. The samplers from smokerainbow are just to test the flavours out of different branded juices. They don't sell larger bottles just small samples. When you find the flavours you like you will need to source from a different vendor preferably one in the UK, and they should be able to offer the nic strength you require. Places like LT will offer 0-24mg nic whatever you need. These are LT's own brand.
LT is one of the sites I have saved, they seem to have a good selection of lovely flavours available with a choice of strengths. I'm trying to avoid postage costs by using local vape shops at the moment. Although the juices are usually more expensive, by the time you deduct postage it works out about the same. It appears though, that the locals don't have a great choice of either low nic or zero nic, so I'll probably still have to buy a certain amount online.

Yes I've smoked Old Holborn for the last 20 or so years, prior to that I smoked some pretty strong tailor mades, including Woodbines lol. When I started vaping I was mixing high strength with medium (couldn't get any low) .... then when I found some low online I mixed that with medium, but still found it unnecessarily high. It's probably different for everyone but with me I'm sure having all the different flavours takes my mind off the actual nicotine, I don't even think about it now, only about which flavours I can try out with which others. Mind over matter I think. I do still include some of my medium tobacco flavours in sometimes because I bought too many and I'm not going to waste them. I've tested myself though and found that I'm quite happy on low strength. Most of my recent buys have been 6 or 8mg, I just make sure I mix at least one fairly strong flavour. I'm surprised it's so hard to get low strength. Now I'm searching for a good supplier of zero nic and hopefully after that I won't need anything at all. I think my lungs deserve a fresh air only period after all I've put them through over the years.

Yes it does work out a bit expensive, especially if you're like me and want to try as many different flavours as possible. I've so much still to learn but half the fun of it seems to be in the mixing, I'm sure that's what has kept me distracted from smoking. Like you I was used to paying over £17 for 50gr of tobacco which is ridiculous really. Then again I can't see me saving much if anything - every day I see lovely things posted here and always think "Oooh I would love one of those" Not sure if anyone has recommended to you yet but a lot of folks use this website www.smokerainbow.com/ I've not used them myself but could be a good way to try out lots of different flavours without shelling out too much dough. Kit wise i'd recommend the itaste MVP. That will last a good couple of days before needing charging. Have a decent battery as backup and a nice selection of clearos and you'll be sorted. Thank you for the recommendation, their multipack samplers are a great idea, I wish more sellers would offer them. both have 1.6ml clearos which is a bit small when you want to try out several liquids mixed together, but they suit me for now anyway. You can get a 10ml needle nose fill bottle, for less than 50p. You can mix juice in them and have 10ml of your own mix to use. If you have a vape shop near you, they will have some to save on postage.
There is a vape shop I can go to and I really like this idea, a nice simple way for new vapers like me to get started on mixing small amounts. Going into town tomorrow, be a miracle if I get any further than the vape shop. Thanks for the great tip.

Welcome weewahThere are some great kits out there these days. I don't use ebay, and it was explained (yet again) on the USA forum that if you use ebay and it goes wrong, ebay/paypal will not help you. I was a roll-up smoker and wasted hundreds of pounds on products that look like a cigarette and are only marginally better than puffing on a plastic straw. Get a decent eGo (evod) double kit and get going.. Have to agree with you on the ciggie lookalikes. They were the very first thing I ordered, tbh I didn't realize there was an alternative. They're pretty much like puffing on fresh air, even the high nicotine strength. I'm keeping them as a standby but haven't used them at all since I bought my vapers, just basic starters but so much better and more satisfying than the cartridge type.

Hi everyone, I've decided to kick smoking in the head after a long long time. I never fancied the patches, the gum or anything the doctor recommends, I just want a substitute that is healthier and more people friendly. A friend of mine is still using his after 14 months but he says it's his dummy & will keep on using it even though he's down to the weakest nicotine strength. My cousin & wife used theirs constantly for 6 months and only use theirs now very occasionally, so I can see that the E-Cigs really do work. So now I'm on the hunt for a starter kit but with so many out there my head's in a spin. Could any of you 'hardcore' vaping experts give me any help as to what to look at, what to look for, pro's, con's, where to buy, best juices, what strength, flavours etc......I'm a roll my own, 20 a dayer and I really don't have a clue where to start with the vaping adventure, although I'm a little apprehensive, I'm also a little excited at the prospect of dragging myself into the non smoking 21st Century!! Thanks in advance Shaun Big welcome to you Shaun, you won't regret coming here, everyone has been so friendly and helpful to me, I've learned lots of valuable tips in one week. I smoked roll ups for over 40 years but haven't even felt tempted to go back to smoking since I switched to vaping last weekend. There are so many options out there, far more than I ever imagined but someone here will always be on hand to help if you get overwhelmed. I'm too new to advise you on what to choose but one mistake I made was that when I bought my first started kit I only bought tobacco flavour juices, I wrongly assumed I would need just tobacco to ward off the cravings. You do need SOME tobacco flavours, but I would suggest including a few others as well, such as fruit, coffee, minty, depending on your taste. That way you will have your tobacco replacement and you can try mixing a few drops of another flavour with it so see how you like it. Just as an example - I'm mixing Virginia tobacco with a few drops of cappuccino and a few drops of vanilla. The figuring out of which to mix and having something to do with your hands actually helps distract you from wanting to smoke, or at least that's what has helped me. You will get the hang of it in no time and never look back. Congrats on deciding to make the switch

Spiritdancer - once you have changed our first atomiser head you'll wonder what all the fuss was about. It really is ridiculously easy, even for a technophobe like me - and it opens up so much more choice of atomiser and will save you in the order of pounds every time you change a head as opposed to disposing of a clearomiser and buying spares all the time. Once you get a few more weeks down the line, we'll introduce you to the delights of Fasttech, a Chinese company which sells atomiser heads (mostly genuine ones) for a matter of pence, saving you even more. I now build coils and rewick almost every day and I was petrified before I did it the first time. It is not however necessary, and many vapers continue to vape quite happily changing an atomiser head or two every week. Don't discount anything yet; you're best bet is to get along to a local Vapemeet, even if its a few mates in a pub somewhere, as you'll see more kit than ever possible in one shop, and get the chance to watch coils being made and try out a whole load of juices - and they're great fun too! EDIT: Reading your last post again, if you go for a Protank (highly recommended, BTW!) you will not have to replace the coils themselves, just the atomiser heads, which is a matter of unscrewing the old one and then popping a new one - takes about 10 seconds, and hassle-free in the extreme. Don't throw away your old heads; someone here will recoil them for you, or you can have a go at doing it yourself with no waste of expense - they were destined for the bin anyway! A Spinner is the natural progression, or an iTaste vv3, which is similar in size and function. When you're ready, we'll point you in the right direction for a good price and service I'm sure I could manage to change heads, it looks a whole lot simpler than fiddling about with coils and wicks. My eyesight isn't up to all that I'm afraid. Once I'm stocked up on liquids, a Protank will probably be next on my shopping list - I will definitely call on your experience when I'm ready, thank you. It's very tempting as a newbie to get carried away and want to buy everything. I'm trying to resist that urge and pace myself Not easy with all the gorgeous things I'm seeing here

Welcome madmike - sorry to hear of the problem you're having. It could be any of the new ingredients you're now using as opposed to the cigarette ingredients, always a worry when we start exposing our bodies to anything new. Hope your GP can help get to the bottom of it.

Yes I now see the importance of being organized and stocking up a month's supply or whatever in advance. It's amazing the amount I've learnt here in just one week, things that would never have even occurred to me. I' going to stock up on liquids tomorrow from my local vape shop, then the 4 in transit from Vapermunki ... plus 8 already in my cupboard (of which 5 are tobacco flavours), I know now that I should have varied my initial purchase a bit more. I honestly thought I would need tobacco flavours only to wean myself off smoking but I should have included some fruits, custards, icy flavours etc. Oh well, I won't need to buy tobacco flavours for a while haha.
